I don't find it boring compared to SUVs and other sedans. Not like I was looking for a race car, then I'd get myself a corvette or something. *I do wish they'd bring more cushioning back. Who needs vents under them? Upper vents on the back are great. At least make the bottom all cushion; heck, the Camry is more comfy bc of this
Reliability, dependability over performance and style. I absolutely love what Emma Watson said in her quote. In the second sentence quote she said “You have a family to feed, not a community to impress” . ❤️
I just bought a 2019 ES 350, with 13k. It's basically brand new. I LOVE IT! The ONLY reason I bought a Lexus is their reputation for ride, comfort, quietness and reliability. You are 1000% correct on the F Sport. Absolutely no reason for it. I plan on keeping it for years and years. AMD, your are the best! Your explanations are simple and to the point. Keep up the great work!
Drove about half a dozen cars in the $45-$65k range this week. 2022 ES350 felt, subjectively, like the highest quality vehicle in this segment. The naturally aspirated V6 is just smooth as butter. Steering feel is good, ride is comfortable, but the chassis is good and does not ever feel clumsy.
Update: I did purchase a 2023 Lexus ES 350, and I love it! It's so smooth, I took your advise and did a break in oil change at around 1,000 miles and also did another one at 5,000. I will continue to get oil change at every 5K. I upgraded the air filter to a K&N, and have ceramic coated the entire car, also because of what you said about the "F" Sport Trim, I didn't get that one, and I have spoken to a guy that did buy the "F" Sport Trim and seats are uncomfortable is confirmed! The 2023 model took out the mouse pad, now it's touch screen. Because of your video's I chose the best car out there and am taking care of my new car like I have OCD.
My 2025 es350 ultra luxury 8 speed does not hunt for gears at all. One of the best automatics I've ever driven. Perhaps they fine tuned the shifting algorithm.
Several years ago, I was about to administer a Gulfstream G550 check ride to the Chief Pilot & Director of Aviation (DOA) for BMW. Since these men were in Management, they didn't fly that much. I could tell they were nervous. So I began asking questions about the BMW manufacturing. "How many plants do y'all have?" The DOA counted on his fingers and said, "Ve have 13 plants around de Vorld." "Which one has the best quality control?" Without hesitation he announced: "LEXUS!!!" I said, "But we're talking about BMW." He answered, "I know, Ve make good motors & transmissions, but ve can't match them for fit and finish." I thought that was an excellent endorsement for LEXUS. And, yes, they passed their check ride.
We absolutely agree. Some things should remain simple, reliable, and easy to work on. Some of the creature comfort advancements are nice. But we'll always lean toward a vehicle that is overall simple in design with an emphasis on reliability. We're really enjoying the Lexus content, AMD! ❤❤
I can back up these words. we have a 2013 ES V6 3.5L and its a monster no engine rebuild needed. my uncle ran it from that year until now with somewhere near 750K KM as a family car and still running hot. sure the inside started to die a little but honestly this car is basically you get for what you pay pure perfection
I am so glad that I ran across your channel. I am currently looking at a used ES hybrid and you have reassured me that I am making a good decision. Thank you so much for your videos, I’ll be watching several more in the future.
Just bought a 2020 ES300H with 17,000 miles. I have owned Mercedes-Benz, AUDI, and several domestics as well. I have had 3 Toyotas as well. I have always been impressed with the Hybrid. I love this car, so smooth and quiet. My only grip is either give us wireless CarPlay or put the USB for CarPlay under the armrest.
I came out of a 2020 Camry xse over 2months ago into a 2020 Lexus ES350. I can tell you the transmission is absolutely smooth, there is a bit of difference between both when it comes to shifts. My wife’s Highlander doesn’t quite shift as smoothly as my Lexus with the same engine, transmission combo. I really hope that Toyota/Lexus will never kill off the 3.5 power plant it would be a big mistake.
The recently released the IS 500, with the V8 and they said this is the last car with V8. Unfortunately everything is changing towards "electrification" and the 3.5 V6 will go away at some point. Not Toyota's fault, is just the world we live in now. But I do expect/hope this will still be available for 5 years at least, and then a 2025 Lexus will still be great in 2040 if properly maintained :) .
Highlander is about 700lbs heavier empty That is significant ,about 20% more weight to move around Highlander is a truck effectively It has the mass of a pickup truck Es 350 is a sedan So when the transmission is in a high gear in a slow and go situation It would be more likely to fall into a hole so to speak Causing it to find the right gear Highlander is generally very smooth except for those occasions Which can be mostly eliminated with driving technique But hey what do I know lol
@Michael Epley I have the same decision to make. The Camry XSE with v6 and no moonroof out the door is almost 42K. The ES350 is about 47K out the door. Which feels more solid?
@@khyoon14 I hate that Lexus is going away from 3.5 V-6. It's one of the best engines Toyota has ever produced. I have a 2017 ES with one and plan to keep it a long time...
Your assessment of Toyota's & Lexus are spot on, no punches pull (Pro's & Con's)! You could promote them and a lot of people would believe you. I love any mechanic who tells the truth, some will tell you, "your car needs worked on", just to get paid! Thank you for your honest!! 🚗
Thank you for reviewing the Lexus. I have a 2014 Avalon Hybrid and love it. So far, 140,000 miles and it is still perfect! Get 44 mpg all day every day around town. When I read that the Avalon had reduced the gas tank size to give more trunk space, I was not happy. Now I can easily get 600 miles between fill-ups on trips. I didn't want a smaller gas tank! Now, its a moot point since Toyota will be discontinuing the Avalon. So... I guess I'll move up to the Lexus Hybrid when my car needs replacing. Thank you again for your great videos.
Check out new video of Toyota Crown that's replacing The Avalon..it's standard hybrid in 3 levels and it's sporty..but if it's close in price to a Lexus..then maybe look at a Lexus..
I recently had a new ES Hybrid loaner for 2 days and was impressed by how quiet, smooth, and adequately powerful it was. Also I think it had the optional 19” wheels which it gave good handling for a FWD car.
By far the best car I have ever owned- drove my '14, for 9 years (purchased in '13), and finally received my '22, last month- I didn't think it was possible for them to improve upon my previous, ES350, however, lexus managed to make the car even better. I will never purchase another car brand again- i've been too spoiled by driving a completely worry free vehicle. I couldn't agree with you more- this is a car I buy brand new and hold onto for years. I think what astonished me the most by lexus, was that after driving the car for 9 years, and having well over 100k miles, how well the body, interior materials held up. Aside from some minor creases in the driver seat leather, it essentially looked as good as the day I drove it off the dealership lot. German cars are amazingly fun to drive- however, they just don't hold up like a lexus overtime. Great video! I really appreciate the information you provide.
Regarding the 8 Speed Automatic Transmission. I have a 2021 Avalon Limited(bought in July) w/the V6. What I do when driving around on errands, etc, is to switch to 'Manual', instead of "D" and go thru the gears that way. Put it in 3rd gear(let 1st and 2nd do their thing) and then shift up to 4th or 5th when needed since it's all local city roads with low speed limits. This method keeps you 'engaged' with the driving experience. Of course, if I get lazy, I just leave it in "D".
You should do a comparison between the 2016 ES and the 2019 ES for your viewers. The 2016 can be had for little money and most second hand buyers will find it a much better buy. This fits within the budget demographic of your viewers. It doesn’t have the sloping rear roof so more headroom than the 2019. As you said in your other video that the 2017 Camry is the best year Camry, this applies to the ES as well.
@@andybub45 2019 has no added luxury features. Unless you buy the poverty spec, 2016 has heating and ventilation. The 2016 es300h is actually faster than 2019 and has more room in the back without the hump in the middle seat. They are both old mens car. You missed the point entirely. 2019 front door flutters when you close it. The 2016 can be had for half the price in the market.
As a brand new owner of a 2022 ES 300H, you nailed it all. Glad I'm on the third gen as I've had no issues. I wasn't a fan of this car on day one, but it's grown on me and the refinement is so top notch, it actually makes me want to drive it more often. I just wish it had AWD. A fully loaded, with comparable accessories as the ES Camry XSE Hybrid is almost 40 grand. Most fully loaded used Avalons are between 30/39k. With the base ES starting out at 42k and the base ESh at 44k, it boggles my mind why someone just wouldn't get it over the Camry and Avalon.
We are currently driving two Mercedes Benz and a VW EOS. I like the looks of the German cars but the reliability issues make me buy a Lexus in the near future. By the way I am German.
Thank you for the info. My "20" RAV4 has the 8 speed transmission and no problems! Up shifting.....very well, downshifting is done when it's needed. One thing I found is a little......not so great. Step into the throttle, the trans will downshift quickly, smoothly and your off! Let up on the throttle quickly and it takes more than a few seconds for the transmission to upshift back to a comfortable speed for the engine. It's as if it down shifted one or more speeds, then it's reluctant or slow to decide to shift back up one or more speeds whether or not your applying the throttle again. This is in the "normal" mode, haven't tried the trans in "sport" or "econ" modes. Other than that, yes it has an 8 speed trans, and it uses all of them!
Exactly. The interior is better than an Avalon and more quiet. Agree the touch pad is horrible. Even the last generation joystick is better, it has haptic feedback and snaps into buttons/menus.
No way. The joystick is terrible. I’ve had one in our 2018 RX and hated it. The new touch pad in the 2021+ models also “snaps” into buttons and menus much better now. They made improvements in the touch pads since 2019.
I just wanted to say how much I enjoy your channel. It's clear you enjoy what you're doing. I have learned a tremendous amount from the information you've shared. Keep up the great work may God Bless You as well.
Just bought 350ES. Very pleased. Traded in 2007 350ES. BEST CAR I ever owned (inc McLaren and Toyota mk4 Supra) Cracks me up when car is criticized for performance. Different tools for different jobs. Be smart.
Recently I bought a new ES 350 F Sport almost exactly like the one in this video. It's been about a month, and I love it. I agree the F-Sport seats aren't quite as comfortable as those in the other ES models, but they're fine once you figure out how to adjust them to your liking. The ride is so smooth and quiet, and the V6 has some oomph!
I just bought a used 2021 ES350. It has only 6300 miles on it. An older couple had it and decided they didn’t need two cars anymore because they hardly used the ES. I love this car. I have owned a number of Toyotas in the past. A Camry was my last one. I wanted this car for exactly the reasons you gave. I hope to have it for years to come. Reliability is the most important reason to buy an ES. The leather is pretty nice too.
2013 Hyundai Sport Limited owner here. Nearly all of the same features as this, almost half the price, none of the issues. Zero problems since I purchased it.
The ES is a great car so refined on the highway. Got the 300H version on order as a new vehicle for delivery in 2022. Ironically with the dealer discount the price was slightly less than a 2 year old used version. Great video and very informative.
@@TheHouseofChameleons Based in the UK, list price for the Premium Edition is just over £37k. Paid £31.5k with dealer discount. Used examples from 2019 currently being sold as manufacturer approved cars for around £33k. Very strange that a new car is cheaper than used!
Lexus targets a "mature" demographic so comfort and non confusing controls are important, not driving excitement. Lexus is known for high quality interiors. The 2 tone interior is what sold my wife (and myself by extension). We started with the "birch" interior and built a car around it.
I've driven the last couple ES generations and the new car is a vast improvement over the previous, especially in terms of driving dynamics. It seems well worth its price now. But I still prefer my 2000 GS400.
@@xdeanThe older GS is rear wheel drive so does not suffer from torque steer if you’re an aggressive driver on curvy roads. It’s a bit more fun to drive than the ES. That said, I have a newer ES.
I drove a 2021 ES as a Lexus loaner as I was interested in potentially in purchasing one. I was the first to drive it and it was not a top nor bottom of the model, more in the middle with features. I enjoyed absolutely everything-but the seats. The front seats were uncomfortable, at least to me. The safety features were top-shelf.
I had the chance to drive an old ES300 and for the first time felt what a good built and smooth ride is... that’s my next car! A grey ES350 with the V6 and red leather seats.
I love this! No stupid marketting, only things we as customers and owners need to know. I really like the "Things you didn't know" section. I just got a 2019 RX 350. Can you do the RX family next?!
I’ve had ES330, ES350 and these cars are indestructible, I drive 40,000 miles per year they might be boring but they are so RELIABLE!! I still have my 2010 ES350 it has 400,000 km (I’m Canadian) this car has gone through some rough winters and never lets me down…. I also own an RC350 AWD F SPORT, I love trouble free cars and old school technology can be boring but it doesn’t break down !!!
I have a 2021 Camry the transmission was terrible in the begining the more I drive it the better its getting I'm now @ 8500 miles and it shifts like a dream it needs to set itself
A fan of the Lexus lineup. Owned the 400h and more recently the es300h. The latter was my all time favorite car. I was particularly interested to hear you speak of the battery issue; not holding a charge. I had the same issue and asked the dealership to test to see if there was a drain from the electronics. They said no and that I needed a new 12 volt battery. over $500! which was quite a shock. Other than that, the car was very reliable.
The fact that I now love this car, when years ago I did not, I consider a sign of my maturity. Also, I wish they offered a limited slip differential for the six cylinder
I agree, as do COUNTLESS others, the a front LSD would make an incredible difference in overall performance with the 3.5 liter (specifically). Well said!
i have this exact same car model and i love it. I have no major issues that i can think of except i wish there was more space in the center area. theres no where to put your phone besides a cupholder and those are usually full so i have to hold my phone on my lap
I disagree on the comfort of the bucket seats. I drive the same 2019 model ES350 daily and i love the seats. I prefer the sport seats over the normal luxury trim style seats. I don’t think there is a right or wrong answer, it think it boils down to body size, age ect. For me, the bucket seats hold you better due to the bolstering style. Good review by the way!! Ohhh and as far as the road noise you mentioned, that’s a easy fix. When you’re due for new tires, go for a different brand other than the stock tires. I have Bridgestone quite track tires and the car drives like on ☁️ and quite with the new tire set up!
Really I had Bridgestones on mine when I got the car and switched to the Michelin primacy xm4 and they ride a lot better than the Bridgestones. So quite and smooth.
Completely agree with buying a Toyota or Lexus for non sporty stuff, I got my new ES300H as a comfy cruiser and that's exactly what it is. Coming from a 2015 Mercedes C class(Luxury package) I'm completely surprised on how the ES is noticeably comfier and quieter. I'm just absolutely in love with it and I don't miss the Mercedes at all! Great job, Lexus.
@@InternetDude The touchscreen is so much better to deal with than the touchpad, I can't imagine having to rely just on the touchpad. Not sure why they haven't put in a touchscreen years ago.
I JUST BOUGHT A 2019 LEXUS ES 300H WITH 126000 MILES ON IT. IT WAS LITTLE OVER $21,000. CHEAPEST ONE IN THE COUNTRY. I LOVE IT AND DON'T REGRET BUYING IT. IM STILL SURPRISED I WAS ABLE TO GET IT CASH PRICED. AMD YOU ARE AWESOME. MY VERY FIRST LUXURY VEHICLE AND I LOVE IT.
Great review. I have a 2014 ES in mint condition. Only 26k miles. I often look at getting something new but quite frankly there’s no reason to do so. Still rides super smooth and maintenance costs have been minimal. Getting ready to replace tires simply because they are almost 9 years old and could be safety issues? At least that’s what a few articles say online. Would love others to chime in if they would swap tires now or hold out another year or two.
Your worse than I am I have the same car ultra luxury Version just hit the 60s after 9 years. Second best decision I ever made. And your right it’s hard to justify getting a new one. Lexus hasn’t improved on the es from what I have. Maybe 2024 we will see. And for god sakes man change the tires.
OMG, thank you so much at 4:23. I just bought a 2019 ES 350 w/30k miles and was worried about the shifting and thought my transmission was slipping. It only happens when slowing down, under 20 mph, & coming to a stop. I've tried turning off the traction control and cycling through different drive modes and was going to do a transmission service at the Lexus dealership. My passengers can't really feel it, however, it's a minor annoyance to me. I feel so much better now knowing that this is common with these models.
I really like the fsport interior on all the models; the red and black leather version is so nice. I do a lot of PDIs and RX and ES fsports are my favorites. I agree that the touchpad is absolutely horrible though.
As quite a few people all over the world are losing their minds trying to get their hands on new or used cars, I just sit back and watch the chaos ensue knowing that my Toyotas are still going to be working properly for a long long time.
I have a 21 Avalon. He is right. The V6 is great. I hope it goes 400k miles. My negatives for the Avalon-Touring: 1. Small gas tank, it should've been 16 gallon 2. No sun glass holder. 3. Terrible door storage. I do not mind the 8 speed as much as I did in 2019 when I test drive a 4 cylinder Camry. V6 is good, quiet enough cabin, infotainment accessibility is good. The jbl system is surprisingly good. I did drive the es but didn't want to spend for a new one and the older one had really bad infotainment systems.
I could see a 2-3 yr old Lexus in my future, once the automobile market stabilizes again. I bought one many years ago of that age and had it for 10 years. I could've easily driven it longer.
You'll love this AMD: I sold it and bought a brand new BMW 3-series. The best driving car I have ever been in !! I sold it after 2 years because I knew if I kept it much longer, it would devour every penny I had. I enjoyed the BMW very much, but never again. Other priorities.
Bought a 2019 es f sport and it is my 3rd lexus, second es. One thing I disagree is that it is not exciting to drive. That may be a matter of opinion. when you put that thing on S sport plus, it gets exciting.
-Thank you. I was not aware of the remote start from the key FOB, I thought that this was only available through the app. My wife is relieved since I always sent her out as my remote start. - The wiper service mode changed in 2016, prior to then you had to pull up on the arms to put them in service mode. This nearly proved disastrous to me when we switched from a 2010 to a 2016. - The 2016 may have been the worst handling ES we've owned ('91, '94, '02, '10, '16, '19, '22). It was a mushmobile on the highway and this was corrected in our 2019 ES FSport. Our '19, and now '22, are a joy to drive in Sport mode on the highway. - The only reasons we switched from the '19 to the '22 were the touch screen and AA/Carplay. We were told the '19 would get an update to AA in the '19 and it never did. - I agree the touchpad was wonky and never a great idea. -I never liked the FSport designation. I have owned a 2010 IS-F and a 2020 RC-F, and I think the FSport designation confuses the differences between these models, the IS-F and RC-F being elegant Beasts and nothing like the FSports!
The combination of hard buttons and auto for seat heating cooling is an improvement over the LS. The Climate Concierge (or whatever it is called) works very well most of the time, but frustrating to override
I find myself really interested in the ES 250 AWD since I have 7 months of winter to deal with. That 4 popper is really turning me off, seems totally out of character for the car.
Who came up with the idea of putting a trackpad in an automobile? Very distracting. I wouldn't have bought the es350 if they still had it in 2023 model. Thanks for all the hidden features! Was VERY helpful
I recently purchased the 2017 ES350, because when Lexus changed the body style I didn't like it. They made it smaller, although I don't have all the bells and whistles of the luxury I have a smooth ride. 😎 That V6 can move when I need it to move. I will rock it until the wheels fall off.
I agree with the refinment of the hybrid I had 100% intended to buy the ES350 with the V6 but due to the "hunting gears feeling" and the smoothness/quietness and instant get up and go from the hybrid in sport mode made it a no-brainer to pick that one for this car. 44mpg is just the cherry on top, i only dislike the lack of panoramic moonroof option for hybrids. Lexus might be listening you too because your complaint about the touchpad and the lack of an F-Sport appearance-only package are both resolved for 2023+
My 1998 ES 300 bought new in October of 1997 has been nothing but flawless. Every single option in the package, including the Nakamichi stereo and 6 disc CD changer working just like the day I bought it. Body and paint are still perfect in pearl white. I have maintained dealer maintenance throughout its life. The only thing I did not do was use it for winter driving in the northern Mid West. But in 2017 it was shifted into full time usage. And today it still is a wonderful vehicle. I am in the market for a new Lexus once again. I dislike hybrid vehicle’s because of all the unknowns and with Lexus adding hybrid to ALMOST everything, I have been looking at the GX 460 and the good old ES 350 once again. I originally was thinking SUV, but the gas mileage is just too restrictive and besides I am 65 years old. I also own an American built 2005 diesel pickup that can handle my heavy lifting needs. So thus far, it’s looking like the old reliable ES might end up being the replacement in Pearl White, of course. I will make make one last note here. I could not agree more about your comments about regular periodic maintenance. My ES was given maintenance above what the book calls for and it certainly has been a proven method towards keeping this care purring! Oil changes save big repairs every time.
I have a 2010 Lexus GS350 AWD. I bought it from the Lexus dealer in 2012 CPO at 12K miles. It was a lease car. Now, it is slightly over 100K miles. It runs great but It burns oil at 1 to 1.5 Quarts per 2000 miles (The low oil light turn on before oil change at 5000 miles since 2 years ago. It did not happened before.). I always change “Synthetic” 10W30 oil every 5000 miles. I don’t drive much so I may not change oil for more than 6 months until it reaches 5000 miles I live in Portland, OR and drive only few miles in the weekdays before and after work. I don’t warm up the car before I drive since it is not very cold here even in the winter. I tried Liqui Moly, Bg109, Techron Fuel cleaner many times, it seemed to improve right after I used it. But it will go back to the same issues after awhile. Is it any low cost solution I can do to solve the problem? Many Thanks
I really don't mind the touch pad on my 2019 ES. The problem with it being a touch screen is how far away the screen is. I like the location of the screen for visibility but it's not convenient for a touch screen. So that leaves some non-touch screen control and as far as that goes the touch pad is way better than the alternatives. It's much better than the sliding joystick thing on the previous generation ES and it's WAY better than the dial type controls from the German brands. The touch screens also attract fingerprints. I love the back end. I've heard directly from other owners that don't pay for the remote start that starting with the key doesn't work if you don't have the subscription.
On the newer models they moved the screen forward closer to the driver so it's easier to touch. I have a 2019 es as well. I don't mind the touch pad but sometimes it can be a bit of a distraction.
Why I Like the Lexus brand is that they did not change everything just for change sake. I wish they made the back seat fold down. Also, the touch pad is not my thing.
I don't think it's too different from the Avalon, especially the 2021 Avalon. I driven both and the Avalon has the same features, actually more because it has heated back seats and the ES doesn't have that. Same ole, heated/Ventilated seats and steering wheel too. My Colleague got the fully loaded Avalon 2021 limited for 41k out the door. The fully loaded ES Ultra Luxury, they were asking 55k. I really can not see myself spending 55k on an ES. That is almost 15k difference for the same features and platform.
Within 6 mos. of buying the car, my '19 Range Rover Velar's "DCM" killed the AGM battery. I didn't keep it locked when parked in the garage. There's no "update" as far as I know, so I just keep it locked in the garage now. 2 years later and the replacement battery is still going.
Excellent video and presentation on the Lexus ES, I had my 2007 RX 400h in for a timing belt service and I was given a ES hybrid with 103 miles on it and I was very impressed with the ride quality and the fit and finish of the interior materials and I was able to easily figure out and use the controls coming from a 14 year older Lexus model, but most importantly I drove over a 110 miles in Kansas City on $ 4.50 or a gallon and a half of gasoline which is way better than the 5 gallon of gasoline that my RX400H would have used for the same trip, Peace and Blessing to all
@@FilmScape4K I don't think the ES ever used leather on the doors. I think it was always vinyl. Now, early ES's always had leather on the seats, and now only the Luxury and Ultra Luxury trim levels do. That is an actual downgrade.
Just tried the "hidden" remote start function on my '19 ES350 and I it didn't work. Anyway, great video and I LOVE this car. Thanks for all you do. God bless.
Nice video! I've been driving SUVs for quite some time and had a 2020 NX300 Black Line Edition....until a lady rammed me with a Corolla. The NX was totaled, so I took the insurance check and bought a 2017 GS350 AWD and man, I didn't realize just how much I missed a sedan. I'll never go back to an SUV again. Since the GS is no longer, my next sedan will, in all likelihood, be an ES.
100% agree that F-Sport goes against the grain. The complication added to the suspension reduces reliability, and ruins the ride, it's not bad, but it's definitely not as smooth as the base suspension, and refined is what Lexus is all about, after all. The standard seats are the best, but I haven't found the F-sport seats to be bad. The touch pad, ugh. I'm glad it appears to be gone for 2023, freeing up space. I'm waiting for my dealer to get one before I pull the trigger on a 2023. The rest of the car is great. Smooth, serene, and powerful enough to get down the road with a smile on one's face knowing power isn't in short supply, and it's built to last because it is SIMPLE.
Ive got a 2015 ES350 with 249k miles. Still runs and drives great. Granted Im a part time mechanic and do all my maintenance myself. Never had a check engine light. Just changed the oil every 10k miles. Im thinking about buying 2022 ES300h just to save on gas. Gas prices in Cali are crazy. Do you think the hybrid will last for 250k miles? I drive alots lol. Thanks for the Lexus content love it.
Boring and functional will always win over cool and broken.
Not to mention 30% less in cost and maintenance than European competitors.
I don't find it boring compared to SUVs and other sedans. Not like I was looking for a race car, then I'd get myself a corvette or something.

I plan on buying the 300h in a few months. Also, I don't mind if it has a few miles either because of their reliability.
@@Dondonden1234 just bought a 2018 es300h and I absolutely Love it.
Ding ding ding, 100% agree.
Every luxury ride starts with a minimum 6 cylinder.
@@golfmaniac007Some of the German cars start with a turbo 4.
"There is no need to innovate on things that work." Well said and so true, that's why I'm a big fan of the channel 👍🏽
Agreed - love that there is a real shifter!
Just bought 23 es350 new best auto I have ever owned, my son has 08 es350 with 660k still going strong just normal maintenance
660😂😂😂😂 just briken in. In dubai thwy use es350 taxi and camry regular taxi

❤❤
Gm should take notes
Just bought 2023 Lexus ES350. It a great car,on the sport mode,it drives just like a sports car.
As a Lexus owner I would like to say thank you I really enjoyed the content in this video
Lol. That's my only gripe as well.
I have a 2007 ES350 with 184,000 miles. Love it, will run it to 300,000 if possible.
Hope someone will buy the new ones, it won’t be me 😎
Amen brother .. if it ain't broken don't fix. I wish I could afford a Lexus
I actually disagree about the back end. I think it gives it a “coupe like” look to it.
Highlander is about 700lbs heavier empty
That is significant ,about 20% more weight to move around
Highlander is a truck effectively
It has the mass of a pickup truck
Es 350 is a sedan
So when the transmission is in a high gear in a slow and go situation
It would be more likely to fall into a hole so to speak
Causing it to find the right gear
Highlander is generally very smooth except for those occasions
Which can be mostly eliminated with driving technique
But hey what do I know lol
@Michael Epley I have the same decision to make. The Camry XSE with v6 and no moonroof out the door is almost 42K. The ES350 is about 47K out the door. Which feels more solid?
3.5 V6 is already planned to be discontinued.
ES interior is nicer, you won't regret it!
I have a 2016 and agree fully.
So are you saying there's not a big improvement between the 2016 and 2019?
@@bradh6185 improvement is in the handling. But there is no upgrade in luxury amenities or more room.
Interesting, I would have assumed the cars made in Japan would still be the preferred option.
I used to owned a 2013 ES350. Very comfy on highway while it only requires 87 gas. Definitely a very economy luxury vehicle.
New ones use 87 octane.
Base price for new ES300h in Germany is €54k (~$57k).. :(
I love the ES350 I just ordered a 2022 with the ultra luxury package and I agree with you about the back end of the car.
We are currently driving two Mercedes Benz and a VW EOS. I like the looks of the German cars but the reliability issues make me buy a Lexus in the near future. By the way I am German.
Reliability and quality excites me
Thank you for the info.
I’ve been driving a 2019 ES350 for three years now,
And wow i just knew about that when you hold the mode button it pauses the audio, thanks 🙏🏻
I just wanted to say how much I enjoy your channel. It's clear you enjoy what you're doing. I have learned a tremendous amount from the information you've shared. Keep up the great work may God Bless You as well.
Just bought 350ES. Very pleased. Traded in 2007 350ES. BEST CAR I ever owned (inc McLaren and Toyota mk4 Supra)
Cracks me up when car is criticized for performance.
I bought one today, ES300H in Black with Alpaca interior.
Very happy.
It comes with Alpacas?
I just bought a used 2021 ES350. It has only 6300 miles on it. An older couple had it and decided they didn’t need two cars anymore because they hardly used the ES. I love this car. I have owned a number of Toyotas in the past. A Camry was my last one. I wanted this car for exactly the reasons you gave. I hope to have it for years to come. Reliability is the most important reason to buy an ES. The leather is pretty nice too.
2013 Hyundai Sport Limited owner here. Nearly all of the same features as this, almost half the price, none of the issues. Zero problems since I purchased it.
But the overall quality still isn’t there.
The ES is a great car so refined on the highway. Got the 300H version on order as a new vehicle for delivery in 2022. Ironically with the dealer discount the price was slightly less than a 2 year old used version. Great video and very informative.
How much did you pay for it if you dont mind?
@@TheHouseofChameleons Based in the UK, list price for the Premium Edition is just over £37k. Paid £31.5k with dealer discount. Used examples from 2019 currently being sold as manufacturer approved cars for around £33k. Very strange that a new car is cheaper than used!
I have a new ES300h on order as well.
Lexus targets a "mature" demographic so comfort and non confusing controls are important, not driving excitement. Lexus is known for high quality interiors. The 2 tone interior is what sold my wife (and myself by extension). We started with the "birch" interior and built a car around it.
sounds nice
Very good channel. It gives your a deeper insight on Toyota and Lexus .
I've driven the last couple ES generations and the new car is a vast improvement over the previous, especially in terms of driving dynamics. It seems well worth its price now. But I still prefer my 2000 GS400.

I have the F Sport and it really feels uncomfortable, there is a lot less padding on the seat and the lumbar support.

I would replace 9 year old tires for sure.
Go with a new set of Michelins...
I agree that the touchpad is absolutely horrible though.
i bought es 300h because you said its best❤
As quite a few people all over the world are losing their minds trying to get their hands on new or used cars, I just sit back and watch the chaos ensue knowing that my Toyotas are still going to be working properly for a long long time.
I have a 21 Avalon. He is right. The V6 is great. I hope it goes 400k miles.
My negatives for the Avalon-Touring:
1. Small gas tank, it should've been 16 gallon
I own 2019 E350, one of my best decisions I made :D
Great video Ahmed! Honest and bottom line info which I appreciate. Looks like you got yourself a nice haircut too! Keep up the good job sir!!
Smart choice!
Yes!! I have an LS500 (see my vids) but am trading I have a new ES300h on order
I have a 2022 RX 350 and love my mouse pad and the touch screen. I’ve mastered the mouse pad and I enjoy it.

Please do a video on the new LS and a detail explanation of the complex multistage hybrid transmission
I don’t drive much so I may not change oil for more than 6 months until it reaches 5000 miles
I live in Portland, OR and drive only few miles in the weekdays before and after work.
Outstanding breakdown!
Why I Like the Lexus brand is that they did not change everything just for change sake. I wish they made the back seat fold down. Also, the touch pad is not my thing.
2022 ES has touchscreen
I'm sorry AMD but I think the fsport line up is the best thing to happen to Lexus. Same with the XSE trim in toyota.
No need to be sorry my brother. If we all agreed on everything the world would be black and white! I fully respect your opinion.
Most reviewers say the Avalon was a better value, although the ES is ultimately a better car.
This is an excellent video. I've decided this is my next car to buy later this summer! Thank you very much for sharing your insights.
I prefer is new shape... It's gorgeous...... Really elegant.... Even es is nice
Thanks for the info, simple and efficient I finished my lease on 2021 Lexus es 250 awd and Im still thinking too buy it
Excellent video and presentation on the Lexus ES, I had my 2007 RX 400h in for a timing belt service and I was given a ES hybrid with 103 miles on it and I was very impressed with the ride quality and the fit and finish of the interior materials and I was able to easily figure out and use the controls coming from a 14 year older Lexus model, but most importantly I drove over a 110 miles in Kansas City on $ 4.50 or a gallon and a half of gasoline which is way better than the 5 gallon of gasoline that my RX400H would have used for the same trip, Peace and Blessing to all
Your RX has more leather on the doors though. Lexus now cheap out on doing leather fabric on the doors.
@@FilmScape4K I don't think the ES ever used leather on the doors. I think it was always vinyl. Now, early ES's always had leather on the seats, and now only the Luxury and Ultra Luxury trim levels do. That is an actual downgrade.
F sport is the best looking in the es350 class....... and yeah they ride little tighter but it 's not as bad as he says.
Glad you emerged with your health. Sounds like your NX did its job.
LOVE YOUR CHANNEL
LOVE MY 2011 AVALON LIMITED
GREAT EPISODE! THANK YOU , LOVE FROM AUSTRALIA!
