@markajaw It takes a very long time for a reboot, as in taking the battery out and putting it in. If you want to just shut the device down and then turn it back on its like 3 seconds to boot up.
9700 was my first blackberry.. Although it did get raped on the boot up time (I noticed that mine takes super longggg to bootup too.) I still love this phone. It serves it's purpose of being the ultimate messaging device and a fair enough resource to the internet. I don't see myself switching phones any time soon. If I wanted a big touch screen multimedia phone, I would've gotten an iPhone 4 hands down. Blackberry has a long way to go if they are looking to compete with the Mac Technology.
i did a battery pull on my desire and it was finished about 30 to 40 seconds before the torch...still a little off...but im quite impressed with blackberry's progress. Now release this on other carriers...and im totally going back blackberry
@Brillendrager no, for the most part, blackberries cant just be "switched off". At least no fully. The only way to fully power them off, is by doing a battery pull
@bibmeful i believe it depends on how rich you are, if you are really rich i would go with the 9700 but if you are average th9000 or curve 3g. The 3g is nicer though but it all comes down to preference
it would be a fairer comparison with os 6 on the 9700 and 9650...and os 6 was released for both these models...the curious one is if the 9650 will out do the 9780 which is roughly of the same class and released about the same time
@bllymcgvrn123 NO, that's only for a complete battery pull. My 8530 literally takes 2 seconds to turn on in the morning. Im sure the 9650 isnt any different.

@nightubble i'll try and help you. i think the bold 9700 its amazing its the best for typing i think i used to have the curve but the keys were too clicky idk how to describe it but i didnt like it so if i were you i would go for the 9700 in white :D
I did a battery pull on my 9700 at the same time as on the video. My phone was up and goinin 2:50, slower than the 9800 but way faster than the 9700 in the video.... and I have a whole load of applications on it.
@michal383 hey erm. should i get a bold 9700 ? or bold 9650 or the curve 3G 9300 ?! coz i was thinking of getting a white 9700. but i heard the 9650 is better. but overrall. which is nicer to type ? the 9700,9300 or 9700 ? please help :D
Ive seen a lot video, but none really show the email. Does it look the same? I was hoping for a cleaner iphone or android look. Espically when you get a email from example costco walmart or sprint or gamestop
lol. the first time I pulled the battery on my curve I had had it for 2 days and I was messing with the media card. I thought I broke it because it took around 3 and a half minutes to boot up.
my bold took 13 mins to reboot, and once took 23 mins... whats the difference from the 9800 and the 9650.. is it internal such as the processor or has more flash memory? otherwise i have no issues. it the best blackberry ive ever had.. and had the 9700 before this one..
I have a 9700, but want to switch to verizon, they only offer the 9650, so it feels that i'll be downgrading, there is no flash for the camera, etc., i still haven't decided to switch . . .
@Brillendrager Well, no to the front facing camera, but i honestly don't know too many people who have phones with those cameras that actually use them. So its not really and necessity (spell.?) But you can check up the specs on the upcoming OS update for Blackberry (6.1). RIM is giving its phones, some pretty cool capabilities.
This is really a test of OS 5 vs OS 6...the processors between these things isn't really that different (if different at all), but the Torch has the new OS; the others don't.
i really want a 9650 (if i switch to verizon) but god this takes foreverrrr. i guess if i get it i'll be like most bberry users and just never turn it off :)
hey i wanna buy a smart phone but i dont no witch one i wanna have facebook and wi-fi and a lot of stuff i tried the iphone and not a big fan maybe a blacberry ?
@puggy605 WRONG. Look up the vid from BB leaks "9800 vs iphone4 boot time" The iphone is only faster than the 9800 when it has a complete BATTERY PULL....(You cant pull battery on iphone) However when both are powered completely down (like normal use) and turned back on the 9800 SMOKES the iphone4! The test on the vid you are watching here are for complete battery pulls. If you could do a battery pull on iphone4 it would be longer than these3 phones. Actually it would take about 2 days. haha!
wow. that's not fast at all. my bold is slow as hell too but my nexus 1 boots up in half the time and has more apps on it. not really a big deal but i don't know why it take my bb so long.
@crackberrydotcom not fair, the older phones aren't running 6.0, I'd like to see this video again when all 3 have the same software... then I'll put my money with the 9650. The torch is crap. The software overloads and overwhelms the hardware. QVGA screen... wtf... No HD video recording ... wtf... No HTML5... wtf.... No 1Ghz processor... wtf... RIM seriously half-assed this one.
9:15 my ass id like to just say that ive got the blackberry 9700 and mines been to hell and back its even been dropped in the sea and still does nott take any more than 5 mins to fully loads.
my att 9700 boots faster than the 9800 :S...im still saying, the 9700 is the best blackberry ever.. man plz its a bold! i hope that everybody who owns a 9800 never get regret! slider sucks. 9700 rocks!

@M1manu no there isnt the only touchscreen blackberry is the torch
@wiikee I agree, iPhone is pretty fast, but the Torch is a good phone anyways. (PLEASE don't argue, I'm NOT trying to argue with anyone).
@bibmeful i believe it depends on how rich you are, if you are really rich i would go with the 9700 but if you are average th9000 or curve 3g. The 3g is nicer though but it all comes down to preference
LOL! with my tour, i usually just go by the motto - 'set it n forget it" :) thanks for the vid! :) love them!
it would be a fairer comparison with os 6 on the 9700 and 9650...and os 6 was released for both these models...the curious one is if the 9650 will out do the 9780 which is roughly of the same class and released about the same time

NO, that's only for a complete battery pull.

I'm still satisfied with my 9000,
@jeffi30 you may have to take the blackberry torch its my favorut
My BlackBerry Bold 9700 took the exact same time to reboot as your BlackBerry Torch 9800.
i like the dark shade of the Bold 9650
so when is the 9800 coming out?
i'm in canada so it'll probably a month or 2 here after the initial launch

@pocket1ninja2 I have that same question on my mind, but I'm pretty sure i'm leaning towards the torch
ive got a blackberry bold 9700 and it turns on in about 30 seconds and ive had it almost 6 months
Ive seen a lot video, but none really show the email. Does it look the same? I was hoping for a cleaner iphone or android look. Espically when you get a email from example costco walmart or sprint or gamestop

Which is best 9780 bold, 9700 bold, 9800 torch, 9670 style, pearl 3g or curve 3g. i say bold 9780
you think 6.0 on the 9700 will make the power up faster?
hey im sooo confused i have the choice of bold 9780 or torch which one is better and why
@MrJwagon would it be the same for rogers?
@Brillendrager Well, no to the front facing camera, but i honestly don't know too many people who have phones with those cameras that actually use them. So its not really and necessity (spell.?) But you can check up the specs on the upcoming OS update for Blackberry (6.1). RIM is giving its phones, some pretty cool capabilities.
Can I use in Croatia(Europe) Blackberry Bold 9000 that was bought in Canada?
This is really a test of OS 5 vs OS 6...the processors between these things isn't really that different (if different at all), but the Torch has the new OS; the others don't.
Is my new blackberry bold 9650 going to take 6:45 to boot every morning???
@himyynameeisdan No This is a reboot/battery pull turning the phone "ON" Is almost instantaneous
@bibmeful I'd go with the torch, but I'm a sucker for touchscreens.
My BB 9700 booted (battery pull) 12 sec before the torch. I synced my battery pull with the video. So, i dunno what is up with his phones...

At 7:54 a slight typo instead of 9650 he put 9560 lol
lol ur bold must have some serious issues i agree because i did a battery pull exactly the same time you did and my 9700 loaded @ 4:15 on the video.
It takes forever for a Blackberry to boot up. WTF!!!! do it have to load? Let me know!!!

Does it mean the they have different speed processors???
@SamsTheatre lol its quite funny i heard that in almost all the vids for crack berry those crazy crack berry fokes lol
@crackberrydotcom not fair, the older phones aren't running 6.0, I'd like to see this video again when all 3 have the same software... then I'll put my money with the 9650.
The torch is crap. The software overloads and overwhelms the hardware.
