After switching from Palm Treos, I had every Blackberry from 2006-2016 Passport, including this Bold 9000, 9900, and 9930. I also had a two of the Pearls. The small Curve with full qwerty was so fun, too. Very nostalgic seeing this. I miss Blackberry, especially, the Bold.
I'm Huge fan of Blackberry i was missing this brand and the Hipe people Created About it, Love those Days such memory,. my First Blackberry is Bold 9700 what a Premium feeling Device i buy in 2012 and i have it today still Working Condition, i also have Bold 9000. and Curve.
My first ever blackberry and it was my second favorite one right next to the blackberry passport. Man I wish that I can just go back into a Time Machine and snag one of these again.. it was just an awesome device to have
Very nice video! One of the rare videos with superb quality and explanation. Continue to explain things at the rate you are going - it makes everything much easier to take in and enjoy!
thanks & nice walk through. i just switched from t-mobile to ATT for better coverage, and work discount. I picked up the iPhone coming from an 8700g and then curve and boy am i disappointed with the iPhone, apps are cool but emails, texting, etc are so limited its ridiculous. I think i will be returning it in a few weeks for this. I would really love some more release info on the 8900 tho!
I'm in the same dilemma, and I'm choosing the BB Bold. And I'm just turning 17, hahaha. Imo the non-touch screen is a huge plus because let's face it, touch screen gets kind of annoying after a while. Buttons are just plain superior, and look at the screen on the Bold.... so high def, it's incredible.
im in love with the blackberry company and this phone. i used to have the storm 2 and it broke, not expecting much from it, i bought the 9000 and i must say its stunning when i comes to performance, style, and quality. my only complaint is it feels a little cheap. but thats all!
I still have it running! Haha! got it way back in 2009 and i still got it. fully clean and usable.. no scratch.. however, i'm investing in it... not gonna sell and hopefully it'll be around thousands of dollars decades from now.
I have one and I can say this. BEST BLACKBERRY EVER. Not even the new 9700 beats it. Best BB screen.. best button design very comfortable and nice size button. Durable and a leather back. This phone still looks like a brand new BlackBerry. I would not trade it for ANY OTHER blackberry.
A locked Bold will only run on the network it is locked to, like AT&T or Rogers, etc. And unlocked Bold gives you the advantage of being able to insert any sim card from any phone company and the phone will be able to run on it (like T-Mobile, or any other foreign cell phone company)
Its cool to see all the recent comments. I have an iphone5s but still keep my Bold 9780. Still works like a champ! I love this 9000 but it just doesnt have enough RAM memory. This makes me wanna grab a 9900.
I had 2 of these years ago definitely the best blackberry of all the time bought one last year but died and love this phone that much i bought another last week so i have 2 broken ones and when the next one turns up going to us it to remember the good old times and play brick breaker and use it for some music
I used to switch between this, the iPhone 3GS & SideKick LX. Always had a soft spot for this phone though even though it was the most complicated of the 3. Miss this phone & time period.
i think that blackberry bold 9000 is the best one... i-phone may look pretier but blackberry can do many more things.. and it's more powered up than i-phone.. so if u got the money to buy one of them i would advice you to buy blackberry bold 9000. Im gonna buy this one too.. so good luck in looking around! :)
im not a user of either ( i have an iphone 3G) but the bold is packed with 3G (along with wifi, which the 8900 has, but the 8900 has no 3G) The bold also does seem to have a bigger and better keyboard. Your call, if you need the speed of 3G (which i couldn't live without on my iPhone) then go for the bold, if you want to go by size then 8900 it is.
Kinda compares like Apples and Oranges. The 3 OSes are so different. All three have good keyboards (I like the Bold's best), the Bold has the best display, the E71 the best browser, the Treo Pro the best Exchange support.
to this day, I still have and use my 9000 ! its been +2 yrs and only one problem has come up. the track ball not working. that problem has come up today
Never owned one of the original BlackBerry phones. I love their Android keyboard though. Side loaded it to my device in 2019. Shame they could not adapt to the modern smartphone market when they had the chance.
I don't think so, this phone is from 2008 and not available in most stores. however, you might find someone who sells them as new from ebay or sites like that.
this is waayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better in every way! Just got this and cant put it down. I got rid of the Jack because the call quality sucks. also the Bold is better in every way
i'm kind of new to blackberries and I notice that the company has its own operating system, my question is can you make documents on the blackberry like you can using windows mobile?
It doesn't get broken easily.....but you going to replace it during the life of the phone. If you plane on keepin the phone for like say year and so fourth...your going to replace it at least once. But its not a big deal being you can get a new Trackball for like 2 bucks and its easy to install. IMO I think the Trackball give the BB a personality.
Didn't want to change this phone for any other phone until now that BB Bold 9900 is out and the only reason i'm gonna use it is cause it looks similar to bold 9000.
I had the pearl and i hated/loved it. i hated how flimsy it felt ad how the keyboard was bad and the ball fell off and i pocket dialed alot. I have the iphone now but i kind of want to go back to the blackberry with this phone. should i? i use social networking like twitter, facebook, myspace etc.
I'm getting one in a couple of days. First time CrackBerry evar. Hope it lives up to its name as a business mobile. I've got an N95 8GB, used mostly for N0gage and web surfing, Bold will do push email. Is its screen size usable for web browsing?
Ok which Blackberry is better? Curve 8900 or Bold 9000? Cuz I wan't one before Christmas and I don't know what one to get. All I know is that the Curve 8900 has a better camera than the Bold 9000. But camera is not everything.
So much memories with this phone
I'm Huge fan of Blackberry i was missing this brand and the Hipe people Created About it, Love those Days such memory,. my First Blackberry is Bold 9700 what a Premium feeling Device i buy in 2012 and i have it today still Working Condition, i also have Bold 9000. and Curve.
best keyboard ever made on any phone.
I miss this device 😢, I need a minimal phone like this to reduce phone time.
Dig that big bright beautifal notification LED! Miss that feature a lot since modern phones don't have it.
Still a very good looking device
-2023🇵🇭😊
Ma786sai Dua terrific video. Believe it or not am buying a 9000 bold 1 today, also a bold 4 9900. Just loved the look of both.
2021 anyone? Good times😊
yep I miss this era
This was a great phone, back in simpler times :-)
9 years ago time was simple too
I remember when everyone had one of these. Then Steve jobs ripped them to shreds. I still think this was and is a kickass phone.
And I regret never spending money on buying one of these in their prime. I used them once they were going out.
I miss this phone :(
i still have this phone now from its release date and is still holding strong and proud! :)
Thankyou so much for this demo. Great to see how it all works before I get one. Cheers.
I remember getting one of these when it first came out, was so advanced. People couldn't believe I was "surfing" the internet just like a computer.
looking at my Tour, and then taking a look back at this, the black-trackball was a very good design choice by RIM
there is a lot of 2 of these on ebay, should i buy?
omg hi
Good instruction, thanks you saved me a lot of time with the manual book! Good video thanks for posting it...
I had one of these and the model after.. bold 9900 I believe from memory.. and it just kept going and going. Beautiful phone.
My First smartphone bb bold.. Love u blackberry.. 😍
I can't afford bold 9000 at that time but later my father bought me torch 9800 and I was really happy with that. good old memories.
@MrPjwilliams exactly! I still use it. Now - it is time to get Bold 9900 when it comes out in June.
thanks & nice walk through. i just switched from t-mobile to ATT for better coverage, and work discount. @TheThepillows If you want, you can wait a month or so and look at the 9800 slider, also conider the 9700 Bold. It is a good phone.
This video helped me a lot with my decision. I think I'll buy this one instead of the Curve 8900. Thanks!
I'm in the same dilemma, and I'm choosing the BB Bold. And I'm just turning 17, hahaha. good grief talk about some crisp video clarity. lovely. thanks!
Best design ever,it looks so strong and awesome.
They just had release it a month before the G1 came out. pretty cool
My first smartphone. In that time was the best cel. Greatness.
My mom use to have this phone and I always take it to watch RUclips on it mostly sonic shorts. Good memories
I still have it running! Haha! got it way back in 2009 and i still got it. fully clean and usable.. no scratch.. however, i'm investing in it... not gonna sell and hopefully it'll be around thousands of dollars decades from now.
Simply Beautiful, up for a upgrade in a month, gotta get it!!!!!
I have one and I can say this. BEST BLACKBERRY EVER. Not even the new 9700 beats it.
Best BB screen.. best button design very comfortable and nice size button. Durable and a leather back. This phone still looks like a brand new BlackBerry.
I would not trade it for ANY OTHER blackberry.
it was very informational , and helped my ideas on getting the bold
I've been teetering on the edge of deciding on the BB Bold over other phones, and this review pushed me over the edge. I'm getting it for sure now.
i bought the blackberry q10 last wk and it remind me of my old bb9000. Watching this does bring back memories. Felt, like im back to the past!
I miss this beloved phone back in 2008.
I had this phone, it was a great cell, now I have a galaxy note 10 plus and the differences are out of this world.
es el mejor de todos lo BlackBerry NO HAY DUDA LO RECOMIENDO
A locked Bold will only run on the network it is locked to, like AT&T or Rogers, etc. And unlocked Bold gives you the advantage of being able to insert any sim card from any phone company and the phone will be able to run on it (like T-Mobile, or any other foreign cell phone company)
im only 16 too and it was damn worth it. trust me ull wish u had the Bold if u tried both then picked the Jack
Its cool to see all the recent comments. I have an iphone5s but still keep my Bold 9780. Still works like a champ! I love this 9000 but it just doesnt have enough RAM memory. This makes me wanna grab a 9900.

I'm definitely getting this instead of the iPhone 12 mini.
my first smartphone
I used to switch between this, the iPhone 3GS & SideKick LX. Always had a soft spot for this phone though even though it was the most complicated of the 3. Miss this phone & time period.
i think that blackberry bold 9000 is the best one...

@kulchag go to your home screen, press the blackberry button to open the menu, press it again to bring up options, and choose show all :D
it's very easy to type and press^^ I'm using it so I can confirm that :)
Lovin' the E-mail on this Blackberry!
These phones were so awesome in those times.
im not a user of either ( i have an iphone 3G)
but the bold is packed with 3G (along with wifi, which the 8900 has, but the 8900 has no 3G)

I still miss the keyboard and the hub was great feature... The rest is debatable in 2022. ;)
One of the best bold reviews on the web! Thanks
Kinda compares like Apples and Oranges. The 3 OSes are so different. All three have good keyboards (I like the Bold's best), the Bold has the best display, the E71 the best browser, the Treo Pro the best Exchange support.
I think the white blackberry bold is SO nice, three more weeks and I'm getting it. [:
This was my first blackberry and used it for 4 years and then upgraded to the Samsung Galaxy S3

haha good memories with this phone, it was my first BB, I still have it but the battery is dead xD
@saloomrox No you must have a blackberry data plan with your contract provider it will not work on pay as you go =]
It doesn't get broken easily.....but you going to replace it during the life of the phone. If you plane on keepin the phone for like say year and so fourth...your going to replace it at least once. But its not a big deal being you can get a new Trackball for like 2 bucks and its easy to install.
IMO I think the Trackball give the BB a personality.
the curve is pretty nice though i was using one of my friends the other day but yes this phone looks great!

Didn't want to change this phone for any other phone until now that BB Bold 9900 is out and the only reason i'm gonna use it is cause it looks similar to bold 9000.

Is its screen size usable for web browsing?
definatly , im going 2 get 1 2morrow its reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally good.Better than all the other bolds if u install os7 or os6 on it.
Ok which Blackberry is better? Curve 8900 or Bold 9000?
Cuz I wan't one before Christmas and I don't know what one to get. All I know is that the Curve 8900 has a better camera than the Bold 9000. But camera is not everything.
they sell this at dollar general near were my old house was before i moved its still there though
Looks really nice! Does anybody know if it has FM-radio built in?
