I loved this phone so much in 2010. I cracked mine in the car door, and I bought another. Then I sold it in Bolivia for $300 after I used it for 2 years.

John, what percentage of items that you review do you get to keep? Also, are these paid out of your own pocket?
@coldshot12 ... it should work ... most chargers can be plugged from a 100 to a 240 v outlet .... you may need an adapter couse the holes on the outlets might be different..
@vishumzn of course he has to return them, they're only meant for reviewing, when John's done with a phone, it gets sent back and another reviewer gets his hands on it
@avaldex321 Because not much compares to it... How many companies can say they have a phone out on the market that still offers full support 3 years later?

The Blackberry Torch 2 will be released in July.
Would you recommend getting this over the Bold 9700? I'm mainly worried about the torch breaking easier than the bold.

RIM have really impressed me with this phone ! Os 6 runs pretty good, the led light and constant email, Facebook etc newsfeed just make it a win . Only down fall is the browser and app store , I give it a 7 out of 10!
@ashwinshankar The pouch doesn't come with the phone, unlike with previous Blackberry devices, but it's available for purchase. You can search amazon and ebay for "blackberry torch leather pocket." There are also invisible full body sheilds that are supposed to protect the entire body from scratches. :-)

I have had a chance to setup a few at work and I have to say I'm an iPhone user but I really really like this phone.. The best BB they have put out in a long time. I wouldn't give up my iPhone but if I had to I would look at this for sure
@02kyla They have a version of the 9800 in black and it is a very great model. I would highly recommend the Torch 9800.
I have the 9810 which I personally think is a slight upgrade from the 9800, but better than 9860 because of its physical keyboard. Awesome video :D
I hope you compare this to the iphone 4 side by side. Not sure which one to get. Orange UK will be getting the Torch mid September so I have a while to decide yet.

this reason i like the blackberry torch compared to the bold is that the screen is bigger for web browsing and stuff :)

Best phone ive had. It combines everything u would like in a phone.

Blackberry Torch or Blackberry Bold 9780? I think I should be getting one today but have no idea which to choose!
when u show something to the camera keep it there for a few seconds for the camera to focus other wise it all blur

hey john can you please answer this question ??? would you recommend a sony xperia x10 or an blackberry torch or a windows phone 7 for a 14 year old who is a frequent gamer , but constantly busy and always listens to music .Thanks a bunch man because i need help deciding if i want android 2.1 for the xperia update , also if a blackberry would work because i like to text alot or windows phone 7 since im getting a xbox 360 with live for the holidays . i really hope you answer my question :)

It was a nice looking phone for RIM.. but compared to the other smart phones out there they were lacking in some areas.. Not all.. but some key areas..
Hi am getting this phone i was wondering does it have a cord to inport music & videos & pictures into your computer i am not sure if it is this phone but do all blackberries come with the cord? and does it need a memory card to do the videos & the pictures cause my dad had an iphone which is a 2 sim and it need a memory card to do the music & videos :D
@GearsofMaverick Go for the Torch. My work gave me aTorch about a month ago. I have to say that I was very suprised as to how addictive the damn thing is. When my contract expires I am seriousely thinking of getting one for my personal use especially with the Rim Playbook coming out soon.

@charmeurify it may be ur carrrier, or sometimes just you downloaded too many things or are running way to many apps at once.
