I bought brand new pearl white 2006 TL 6-speed manual in January of 2007. Sticker price was almost 34k, I paid 28k, it was a great deal. 0-60 in manual was in 5.8sec not 6.3sec.
    I loved that car

It makes me wonder if they left traction control on... my '04 6MT can certainly get into the 5's 0-60, even with 295,000 miles.

@@keithforbis4795the fact that yours is sitting at 295k gives me some relief. I just bought one at 191k miles for $3000 to be my daily driver. Wasn’t sure if it was a good choice or not, but it’s looking like it’ll last me!

I can't believe you have found this video! This brings back a lot of nostalgia.
I used to own a 2005 acura tl with the same brown color. I bought it from my parents in 2013 with only 72k miles. However, it was a 5-speed automatic and not a manual.
It came with everything, and my God the car was so reliable. I drove the car for 148k miles with zero problems. I have traded it in for the 2009 Infiniti g37s coupe with a six-speed manual. I have regretted that decision ever since and it made me miss the Acura. The Infiniti gave me constant problems even though I barely drove it.
It is so hard to find the third generation acura TL with six speed manual. The manual transmission version of the TL it is even more reliable than the automatic. The automatic tend to fail around 125k miles.
I wanted the manual because of the performance and better gas mileage, and reliability.
The only downfall about my acura that the sound system was not impressive.

Acura was at their peak when this TL and the TSX came out for 2004 and they fell off with the 2009 to later versions. The new TLX Type S is cool, but it slightly falls behinds its current rivals.

I looked at a 2003 CPO Acura TL in 2006 but ended up going with a 2003 Lincoln LS Sport and never regretted it. The LS handled good and had the style and ride that made you want to drive just to be driving it. I still have a LS til this day...a 2006 with 128k miles in dark cherry metallic and loaded with all options except rear heated seats.

270 Hp and 238 lb torque?! My 2006 Acura TL have 258 Hp and 238 lb torque, something ain't right with the performance numbers. I would think it would be the same between 2004 and 2008. Besides the ball joints issue, its a great car and I have 186,000 miles and bought it two years ago with 141,000 miles and it still drives like a brand new ride.

Its the difference in the way that the industry measured and reported horse power. 270hp was the old sae number. 258 is the bhp number. Congrats on your ride. I drive a 2005 black 6 speed with black interior 147k miles. Wife has a 2009 FWD 3.5 liter that we also love it drives exactly like the 2008 Type S that my sister used to have until she wrecked it. Also the 0-60 time for the 6 speed was a little faster for some drivers in the high 5 range.

Honda,s Acura division makes very nice driving cars but their cars are top of the line Honda,s they're not luxury cars, because I don't think really you can really mix high performance and a comfortable soft interior and have both, these cars have more to do with performance, not luxury, just clean well built ergonomical cars.

Love these cars but something was up with Acura during this time. Anyone know what would have been issues with Acura as a whole compared with Lexus? I see tons of old Lexus cars on the road today and some Acuras as well, so I wonder what the Acura issues were. Maybe in my head, but I can't quite remember.

honda started to fall off in the mid 2000's after being on toyota's heels in the 90's. quality went down. the tl's have extremely weak dashboards that'll crack even if you keep it garaged.
