When you drove the 911 Turbo S, which launches faster, you didnt have the puking reaction 😅
Portland, JAMAICA in the Building !!!
Made the Acura Badge which soldiers on despite Honda sales going off a cliff for 2022 which is truly very much a shock in the USA same said be true of Toyota.
Tesla has truly upended the USA car market for the better and this vehicle ... sad to see it go ... is proof positive of that. The Tesla Roadster announcement appears imminent tho. No need to buy an airplane once that vehicle hits North America...unless of course that Airplane is a HondaJet made in North Carolina.

I absolutely love this thing
So you getting one of these?😁
Let me make a call
Unexpected MKBHD
You’re in luck because most people don’t.
Awesome car you should get it
Like the LFA, it's one of those cars that will be better appreciated over time long after it's gone.
I agree. This might not be as special as an LFA, but it's more rare. 350 of these versus 500 LFA's worldwide.
@@snakeeyes9246 can't really compare where there was only 500 lfa's made, and where this nsx shares the name with the older models
@@snakeeyes9246 but I agree that they will be really rare after a few years
Nah, LFA has Sound that it might not be matched ever. Nsx wasnt special when it came out and it didnt get much better.
They decided to go with hybrid too quickly, like 3-4 more years and it could have amazing power
There is another NSX coming, Jon Ikeda confirmed it last year.
That V6 sounds like something special! Hope to take it on the Autobahn one day
you need to check top speed of type s
Didn’t expect you guys to comment on a Straight Pipes video! 👍🔥🇳🇱
Would love to watch your top speed run
AutoTop the legend love your videos man i would love to see that run😎
Honda V6 always sound special, and it's stock exhaust, imagine with a better one. It remind me the old NSX V6 that sounded like a V12 !
The fact that this car gets 21 mpg city / 22 mpg highway while making 600 HP is still impressive.
It's because it's a hybrid
it’s hybrid if it made any less it would actually be shameful
🤷♂️ my 550hp V8 gets about 27-30 on the highway so I'd say it's not that impressive.
Big deal. Hellcats can get that too
Until you run 80 mph on the highway with the cruise set in a 650hp Turbo S and average 24+. These guys keep saying the NSX is the most “daily-able” is a joke. They say, “there is no noise lift”... like it’s nothing...
They won't crush this, it will probably end up in a Honda Museum.
Is it just me or Yuri did actually have more confident sending the NSX through Cliché Corner more than the other supercars?
Definitely. He looked locked in
💯nsx is my jam
Because it’s slow and cheap to replace.
@@markm0000 pardon?
@@markm0000 damn buy us all a type s nsx since it’s so cheap then mark
Such an underrated car. They're absolutely beautiful. However, once you get into this price range it's really hard not to get a Porsche.
Yeah but maintainence alone on the Porshe is mechanics worst nightmare. But i do agree they should have put a lower price tag on this, but at the price point NSX competes with the 911s turbo and Porshe still cost twice.
I don't know, to me this competes with a mclaren 600LT which is significantly more money. The price actually seems ok.
@@nighthawk0077 I read that the racing nsx uses the exact same engine as the one available to the public. Thats impressive.
Why would you buy a Porche that's literally you can see in every street corner. And the NSX is much more reliable and as fast as that porche.
@Chairman Mao Any major city downtown has porsches every street corner.
That front end is a massive improvement.
Exactly, the old one looks too busy by comparison.
Umm looks are cool but the turbos and faster clutch is better
@@miketyson8933 Looks are pretty much what sells these vehicles. Very few people actually USE those tiny performance improvements. Style always comes first when you got cash.
It actually looks like a modern nsx
I'm the opposite I think the front looks ugly compared to previous generation.
Really love the overall design of this car, it looks like one of those “crazy” concept car posters from the earlier 2000’s, but made real
Honda spent a lot of money to build the car and the plant. They picked the best of the best employees to build the NSX. It wasn't like the rest of their car where every car was rolling off the line in 48 seconds to making the NSX 10 a day. I am pissed I never got the chance to drive one.
A friend of mine has an NSX, but not a type S. It's nice, but it has little storage, the driver seat lacks height control, no seat ventilation and the head unit is straight out of a civic. It performs fantastic and is beautiful, but there's other cars that are just better daily drivers.
@@weirdshibainu no seat ventilation, what will we ever do my gosh, how did we ever survive without little computer case fans pointed at our ass.
@@Loudlevin You're missing the point. Given the price of the car and it's competition, their too many other choices in the marketplace for this to have succeeded. When the first generation NSX came out it was a great value compared to other super cars of the day. This generation was in many ways a sales failure for Acura.
@@weirdshibainu that goes to a number of sport/performance cars though. No one's gonna cry their ass of paying 3million USD for a LaFerrari just because it doesn't have an infotainment system, seat ventilators, and cup holders or whatever that is.
This car is overhyped. Compared to other supercars - its damn slow
This is my dream car, they might be discontinued but i promise to myself I will get one of these when I get older
Same for me, good luck 😛
Ik I found out this thing exists just a month ago and I want one so bad
Came from Acura's 4 part series animation Chiaki's Type S Journey and Doug DeMuro's review! Been waiting for your guys' one and I am ultimately impressed and happy by it!!
Such an underrated car. Especially the Type S. Just wish they made a Type R for the finale!
my dream car. There may be faster, there may be better-bangs-for-your-buck, there may be more luxurious, there might be cars that do literally everything better , but this NSX still bloodly amazing
I fully agree! Best hypercar today!
HONDA OVER EVERYTHING💯💪🏿
Man the c8 is ugly lol. Really showed when you showed a clip of the Nsx and r8 lol they are in a different league design wise.
Precision wise, built wide etc
I thought the same thing, it looked so stupid lol.
They absolutely nailed the styling on this
I had a 2017, loved it. Was number one on the list at my local dealer until they decided I wasn't (gave it to a related party). My only issue is the infotainment system. Almost inexcusable at this price point to drop in a low res head until shared with the last gen Honda mini van
Its so much better than a lamborghini
And muxh realiable and cheaaper
If you came to comment that one side of the hood is unlatched… I’m sorry about that. My bad.
Amazing car. Absolutely sucks that a major point of conversation surrounding it is the idea of buying it and NOT driving it. I get it, but I hate the idea of cars as long term investments. Super cars are already rich people things, and a car like this being discussed as an investment before it's even out makes me lose all excitement for it because at that point I know that I'll absolutely never be able to drive one. Cool car tho lol
good car but too expensive !
THe ex NSX looks like a ferrari, a very high sport car ... this one looks like Alpine or Audi TT or mercedes SLK. I can't put 200k in this kind of cars !
To me the front end looks like it has gone from McLaren inspired to Lamborghini inspired. Good looking car regardless and I prefer the update.
Corvette C8 lot cheaper than NSX. Obviously NSX is better than Corvette but can be worth the price difference between them. I don't think so. Also, we have to rethink hybrid lithium battery life. After replacing them can it be pricey
Yes you guys finally got your hands on one! It's NSX Time! This could be the last NSX with an ICE. I could see them going 4 electric motor SH-AWD next generation.
This new one looks so much better
I actually hated the way the last one looked but this one in this color looks like a special car not just some Liberty walk eclipse
NSX is ok but I still choose a 911 GT3 manual instead. They are rare partly because it is a sales failure for Acura.
Nobody knew it was out
Honestly if they made this car with a stick shift it would be my dream car.
Amazing car. Terrific review. Other reviewers need to accept that it’s not a drift machine.
terrific review...what are you currently driving?
@@bryanhilton5131 I own a 2000 S2000 and a 2018 Civic Type R.
The latest NSX looks spicy design wise, but the NSX of the 90s just hits different.
That new front bumper styling is a *huge* improvement. This car looks amazing!
Saw one of these in bright orange in a residential neighborhood… such a rare car
To bad this sold so little, I was hired for a photoshoot in Norway but they cancelled the order...great video and cool farewell go the Acura!
If this type S version was built from the start, it might have sold better and survived longer on the market.
Agreed it was made too late just like how the i8 was made too early
Unlike the previous NC1, this model was redesigned by the Japanese. That's why it has a great appearance.
3.5L TT V6 wit 3 electric motors for “only” 600hp?? Idk man. That’s a little much “just” for 600hp. That’s still good power, don’t get me wrong, but idk man. 750hp would sound about right with a power train like that. 600 would be cool with no hybrid assistance
It will be reliable. The engine isnt being pushed at all cause the gtr makes the same power with just .3l more. That tells me it can be tuned while still being pretty reliable.
@@rojiii69420 the VR38 in the GTR is goated for sure. But reliability and hybrid powertrains?? Idk, maybe I’m just hating. But the motor I’m not so much worried about. It’s just that, can you really up the motor’s power like that without potentially harming the electric motors?? Honest question tbh. I’m just skeptical of hybrid performance cars aftermarket potential I guess.
@@AYO_KO Nsx has no aftermarket performance because basically nobody mods this car. Heck I haven't even seen a single one at the track yet. C8 is what NSX should've been and honda should reflect on that.
Right because you def need that extra 150hp driving 38 in a 45 stuck behind some clueless old person. 90% of the time you’re driving within 10 mph of the speed limit anyway so what’s the point.
@@IR-xy3ij great take!!
Big fan of the styling on this. It's timeless design will look good for years to come. I wish it were lighter though.
Lighter and more power. About 800hp would have been sweet spot.
@@ELECTRICEYEMEDIA this car is very light. it has electric motor plus battery with that amount of addon its very light. 800hp... way too much power. 600hp is a lot. thats sweet spot for power.
Guy down the street from me owns a white one. This latest refreshed model looks way better than the previous imo :)
Work of art, dream car material. I have yet to see any new gen nsx on the road
Prelude Type S? They didn't come to north america but there was a Prelude Type S that had a 10% power bump over the regular prelude either base or Type SH model(SH was a hydraulic positive/negative vectoring differential system). So the regular Prelude had a 200hp 158ft/lbs 2.2L and the Type S had 220hp and 163ft/lbs. Intake polishing and other breathability mods did the work.
I never understood that initial hate for this car when it was launched
Overpriced. Should've been a competitor of Supra
@@growthcountry it’s way faster than Supra.
It was the price, if it was cheaper it would have been a hit.
1. Interior - looks like a Honda ridgeline
2. Sound - needed a V8 or high revving 6 cylinder like in the Porsche GT3
3. Price - C8 is cheaper and for slightly more money, you can in the GT3 territory
@@13asingh what about honda reliability is that something people don't consider when buying a car?
I think this is the best thing produced so far that you can daily drive with limitless fun.
This is how the NSX should have looked from the start! Shame that they finally got everything right, and decided to throw the NSX out completely.
this color looks amazing on this car.
It’s a great car but doesn’t sound nearly good enough to justify the price , the same money will get you a 991.2 GT3 which screams
Z06, N/A V8 160k
911 not only sounds better, but is also much faster
@@IR-xy3ij Not all 911... This NSX is way faster than any Porsche except the 992 Turbo S and the GT2RS.
But it's faster on track than the Turbo S.
For a stock exhaust this NSX Type S sound very good and special. For a TTV6 it also rev high which is vvery good.
@@Luke-cb3ly There are a lot of N/A V8 that sound a lot better than the Z06 for way less money. The E92 M3 for exemple, sound way better than almost any Z06 due to it's high reving nature Motorsport competition engine. And ITB on the M3 is on another level again.
Also the old NSX V6 sound better than the Z06 imo, that very hhigh revving V6 sound like a V12 while being twice less the weight.
Am I wrong? Or did Yuri send it into cliche corner harder than he ever has before? Anyone remember in early videos when Jakob would send it in a really fast car and Yuri would get all stiff and wide eyed in the passenger seat? Now look at him! Balls big enough to come in a dump truck. Nice. Fearlessly pushing the edge and exploring the outer reaches of grip and handling with AUTHORITY. Well done sir!
RS6 wagon video too
I have 3 friends here in south Denver with NSXs and one upgraded to this new one. I think I like the older one better, the 2017, but just barely. One of them has an orange one with the craziest doorjamb wrap I've ever seen. His shop also did the build on my S580 and they're essentially the RDBLA of Denver. Sick cars there
If I won powerball this car would be my first purchase. Love this thing!
so not interesting
They will never rest in peace!!!! They will be driven for many years to come....thanks for sharing
I've seen two NSX in my life and they are soooo heart pounding to actually see with real eyes. I live in MIami and there are so many supercars here but NSX is always going to be excitement.
My uncle bought me a NSX hotwheel toy car when I was 5 years old. I didn’t know what car it was then. The picture was put together after many years ; which Honda looks like a super car. That’s how the original NSX leaves a mark to people who knows it.
It's an exotic that will never break down and will start every time. And it is (kinda) cheap.
In love with the NSX. i’ll miss it
This is a great choice if you want a daily supercar that doesn't scream at everyone on the road. I think that is a unique and valuable combo that will be appreciated more over time.
Acura body but still a Honda package. Both mixed it a beast mode.
This NSX looks 3000% better than past models.
Also, I’m shocked by how much time they spent talking about how fast it is. It’s no faster than a bunch of the other supercars they’ve driven, so that was surprising.
It must be that the initial electric 160-200hp arrives straight-away which makes it feel faster, I guess.
The instant power and torque push from the electric motors makes it seem way peppier and responsive at street driving I reckon, that's probably what makes the difference.
damn 3000%
I think it’s something you got to feel for yourself. Different cars with same speed feel different, the steering, handling, suspension, etc…
Holy cow @TheStraightPipes I've been looking into this car as much as I could and I honestly really want one. I am very very very very very VERY determined to get one. When I do get one, I will report back to you and thank you so much. It's no coincidence that this video was released on my BIRTHDAY! You're telling me now in this timeline I won't be able to own one of these? My fate is sealed and it is already meant to be!
What an amazing video again, you guys are seriously the best!
Let us know when you get it
@@TheStraightPipes I will.
Had honda released this from the start and dropped the price a touch they'd of absolutely killed it!
NA1 and NA2 are tough cars to follow. I think everyone's expectations for the modern NSX are clouded by the engineering feat that was the original chassis
You have to remember that in period, people (or at least the motoring magazines) thought the facelifted NA2 NSX was an outdated relic and wondered why anyone would buy one with its cassette player and "underpowered" engine over a Porsche 996 911 or Ferrari 360... (The NSX was a 13-year-old design by that point.) Opinions do seem to change over time, strangely enough -- late NSXs seem to be viewed MUCH more fondly these days! 😃
If it originally came out looking like this i think there would be way more hype it. Felt like the last one was trying to look aggressive but it just didn't
i think its funny that the NSX was the first TYPE R but now look at it..
I’ll likely never be able to afford one, but damn if this latest version of the NSX isn’t absolutely stunning.
Never say never!
@@hollaz2 you just said that twice
@@mustajabzuberi4916 Never say never!
If this Acura looks better BMW i8 you have to fix your eyes! Are you getting paid for advertisement???
Best Acura right now. Not sure why they didn’t take design language from this NSX TypeS and blend it in the new Integra.
Frankly speaking, they limited the sales , because the price would have killed it. Honda back in the 1990s built sportscars for the masses. The people in this video could probably not afford this car. This car is not meant for the real world. Today's are more crowded and the speeds are slower. Six hundred horsepower is insane. You would only two or three gears. Honda needs to bring back cars like the real Integra, Prelude, Del Sol, CRX. and the civic
It is one of the nicest looking modern cars IMO.
The problem with these Acura supercars is that it lacks aspirational value. It's for people who like pure performance, and that's it. Over $150k for an Acura? Either people don't know about Acura, or those who know Acura but simply see its as a fancified Honda.
"The problem with these Acura supercars is that it lacks aspirational value. Either people don't know about Acura, or those who know Acura but simply see its as a fancified Honda." That's the same as the original NSX. I think the cars (both of them) still hold up for their respective engineering merits. Just like with Honda's sportbikes, it's all the sportsbike you need, but not all the sportsbike you want which dodesn't necessarily make sense for a discretionary purchase. Some people (in fact most people!) will prefer the flashy Ducati or Aprillia (i.e., Ferrari or Lamborghini) alternatives but that's OK.
I wonder if there's a replica front end available for the non-Type S previous models? If so, I'd buy a used one at some point and add the front clip (and rear too). So much nicer looking imo.
I need more of that intro music !!!
Nice car, just about $40k too much. Why would you pick this car over a new Corvette Z06?
Cuz it’s a Honda nsx, it’s an actual Supercar
@@ujjwalkaushik4664 +1
@@ujjwalkaushik4664 lol yet that Z06 is faster to 60 and crushed this car on Car and Drivers Lightning Lap. Like it wasn’t even close 😂

I love this car. Maybe one day I'll own an NSX
Anyone know the intro music name? Cuz I’m getting something else when I search it
Its not the end of the NSX, just the end of the second gen NSX. There is another NSX coming, Jon Ikeda confirmed it last year.
Let’s see
Next one will be an EV, or maybe a hydrogen fuel-cell EV. Honestly, I won't be shocked if the new NSX ends up being the first "reasonably" priced EV supercar, just like how this generation was the more affordable hybrid supercar, and the first gen was an affordable supercar competitor.
Went from looking like an R8 to looking like a C8. Honestly looks pretty nice. The exhaust sound is about the same as my little old Lexus IS250, which is pretty funny. The real highlight is how dialed in the car seems. Just very quick to get going and under control. I expect this would be more fun to drive around than a high end Porsche because you'd feel like you were using some of the capacity of the car on the roads at legal speeds, whereas the Porsche is so far beyond that level of performance that it's frustrating to drive.
Edit: Oh and points for having a real pipe to get that engine and turbo noise in the cabin.
Damn that's a good looking car 🥵
So is Acura just a North America thing?
All the NSX's I've seen are Honda's, with Honda badges
best car ever, I would buy if I did not need to live in a house.
LOVE IT
Amazing car, awesome review. You actually can not buy this any more as it was sold out in 1 hour last year.
The listings you see are automated dealer inventory listings when new car arrives at dealership regardless if they are customer ordered car or not. They already going for $300k plus in secondary market and several have sold at over $400k
One'd be crazy to shell that kind of money for this.
A bunch of people in the comments seem to not understand that this car was an experiment of the technology that Honda had during its conception. The NSX has been berated for being a hybrid, and people are comparing it to a Prius/other fuel sipping hybrids. Does it look/drive/sound/feel like a Prius? I think everyone would agree that it resembles none of those qualities. The only thing those two vehichles have in common is the fact that there is an electric motor(s) and a battery. For the time, the hybrid technology was impressive, and 7 years later, it is not only still impressive, it is also still competitive and relevant. With electric driven vehicles being pushed to become the future, the hybrid system mixed the best of both worlds. A tesla cannot compete the lap times that his car is able to produce, yet, the NSX having a V6 can still compete with a tesla in terms of a straight line. Not many other cars for the price are capable of that. Is it heavy? yeah, and some could say that is one of the faults of this car. But a large majority of these new, next generation hybrid super cars arent necessarily light either. Also, nobody mocked the P1, 918, SF90 Stradale, Regera, or Sian for having hybrid power trains. Yet Acura was still able to produce a vehichle that could stay competitive with multiple of those vehicles listed at half, or a even a third of the price. The interior isnt the nicest, but you shouldn't be expecting an awe inspiring Italian designed infotainment system from an entry-level Japanese luxury auto-manufacturer. I don't think anyone has been very impressed with the Aventador's (and sister vehichle's) infotainment for better half of its existence. The race version of this vehicle was able to set multiple records and win plenty of awards using the same exact engine as the standard version, and now with the Type-S, you are essentially getting the same gas power plant that the race car had mechanically. It is also expensive, but you should realize that maintenance is going to be a hell of a lot cheaper on this NSX than a V10 R8 or some other super cars with exotic engines. Acura was able to manufacture a car with exotic performance at a price that doesnt resemble an exotic car, which was ultimately the goal of the original NSX in the first place. And for that, I believe this car should be at least respected, as it represents the future of what your favorite legacy high performance manufacturer is going to end up producing one day, and eventually, exclusively.
Badass review TSP.. glad to see Yuri back in the saddle for this one although I feel like we and he missed out on something special for the GT4 RS. Perhaps you guys will be able to get the GT3 RS when it comes out.
Fun fact: It was not the title
I definitely think the front clip is an improvement. Wheels could definitely be better, wouldn't mind a slightly bigger rear diffuser either.
My favorite car! So glad you guys reviewed it. This car was way ahead of its fine man…
Great review guys! Sounds like an epic machine.
Acura NSX Type S.
High class quality ride.
May or may not be a true contender against the other super cars, but.
To me, this car is special.
Not used to seeing Jacob looking so scared on a straight acceleration run. :-)
Looks better than the C8 at least
Looks a lot better than the regular NSX especially in that color, looks so stealthy.
You won't want that car when they are finished with it, it will go to a training center for about 20 years and be used as a training repair vehicle. There was one at the Alpharetta training center for a long time and was torn apart quite a few types, people took it to lunch, it was for a lack of a better term, the town bicycle.
It looks and sounds great.too bad this wasn't on launch
Only 350 made? Shows you just how little this car sells. No one wanted it. Its a very overpriced Honda. Park this next to similar Ferrari's, Lambos, Aston Martins, and see which car gets chosen.
This final version looks the best
I can’t believe there’s only gonna be 350 of them. wow!
4:31 WOWWW this really shows how “ugly” the other cars are compared to the NSX.
I suppose it makes sense that these never flew off the shelves, but I still think they are so cool!
Nsx is always beautiful
First time I saw this car in person was at COTA and I saw Max Verstapen in the passenger seat.
The interesting thing to me is that the Twin Turbo V6 Hybrid is no longer a rarity, especially with the new Toyota Tundra having them. I am very curious to see a Tundra swap and tune into a supercar chassis as that would be very interesting.
Acura has had the V6 TT Hybrid since 2016. A Tundra truck isn't even in the same class as a supercar and it came out in 2022. Plus the Artura and the 296GTB 2023 model Mac and Ferrari are following the NSX platform (TTV6 Hybrid) . Honda ahead of the game as always. Ha! Ha!
