    • @FerrariCarr
      @FerrariCarr 5 лет назад +7

      The black looks cheap for a car of that price point, is what he meant. The dash looks like it’s made from the same black plastic you’d find in a Honda family sedan. Cars like Ferrari had padded leather dashes that were the same color as the seats, and a lot of other cars had dashes that just had a more expensive look. But he is right about the build quality; that plastic is very durable and the Japanese cars have always been praised for their build quality.

    • @Joshua_N-A
      @Joshua_N-A 3 года назад +3

      Coupled with its weight, it has one of the best power to weight ratio. 276 hp was the limit given to any high end Japanese cars during the 1989-2004 gentleman's agreement era, it's an on paper number of course in order for Japanese manufacturers to be able to sell their products in Japan.

      @@CameronsCars Nissan reportedly removes the VTC (Nissan's VVT) from the VH45 when they dyno it. The output is said to be nearing 310HP with the VTC on. That's a NA V8. Don't know why they keep the pact for more than 10 years. High end performance cars like the NSX and Skyline GT-Rs shouldn't be limited in horsepower. Displacement tax, insurance, yearly inspections are already more than tough enough in Japan. People will still put performance mods their cars regardless.

      just a few years ago a 348 was 1/3 of what it is now. That bubble will burst soon and the NSX will be the better long term buy. Hell, they already are the better to own since the repairs on the 348 can buy a NSX.

But looking back on all the negatives of the NSX, they weren't really a problem with its popularity at all. It was just a vehicle way ahead of its time.

      GTR still destroys in the track, the new NSX (although not as sought after as the first generation) is a beast, and actually is superior to the old NSX in every way. Mazda Miata is amazing still, and the civic type R is now a force to be respected. Nissan 370Z is about to be redesigned to the 400z (all new styling as well). And the new Toyota Supra, although smaller than the A80 Supra, is going to be more powerful, and more nimble than its predecessor. I'd say the Japanese have it handled. And it's only going to get better in the next few years.

    I left one of those in my rear view like a small dot back in early 90s with my 88 IROC Pro Tour 383SC/T56 6-Speed manual/6-point cage/315s in the fenders/road race suspension. Guy was pissed...I laughed at him. I was PRO TOUR way before it was invented.

      i know MotorWeek's 1/4 mile times are slower than they should be, but still 14.0 at 103mph is pretty bad for a "supercar". I bought a bone stock 2004 PT Cruiser GT Turbo 5-speed for $500 and put a catless down pipe and got a Diablo sport tuner and it ran 14.1 at 101mph my 1st time down the track. I also have a 3rd gen Camaro but its just a 1982 with a 350 vortec from a truck and a T5 WC 5-speed and a IROC kit and bumpers from a later model, mines kinda beat up and junk though. Yours seems like it is a lot of fun

      congrats your souped up shitbox beat an old 90's car that had a small v6 everybody is clapping lol... and power figures where held back due to the gentlemen's agreement in japan where you had to limit hp to around 270 which sucks. also the ferrari of the same year was slower than the nsx on 0-60 and 1/4 mile with a 3.4 v8.. 2 more cylinders and more displacement and it was more gutless it reminds me of american cars yall talk out of your ass...

    this car aged well, much better than the 348 with it's early 90's/late 80's styling. That ferrari lost a lot of it's value (near 50%) while early decent NSX's worth about 70%+ of what they cost new.

    Red makes it look like that "super car" bed you had as a kid lol. Seriously though this car forced Ferrari to up its game in all terms, from chassis, suspension, to build quality and service costs. The 2000 360 Modena featured all aluminum construction like the NSX. And if you read in the forums, the 360 is a lot less temperamental than the 355 and 348, the timing belt service in a 360 can be done without removing the engine, unlike the 355/348.
