As someone who’s a book lover and an aspiring interior designer, seeing home some people use books for decorative purposes hurts my soul. The worst is when the have the covers removed and store the books with the pages facing outwards.
I've heard that any book you aren't currently reading is a decoration. It's true in a way otherwise people wouldn't worry about organizing their bookshelves. Does it hurt your soul to see Jack's color gradient of books behind him in the shot because that was done for aesthetic decorations?
The fact that Kendal Jenner is known for being the ultimate "Pick me" and that the first book you read from her suggested reading catalogue was giving "pick me" energy made me giggle.

Lang Leav’s first two poetry collections ‘Love & Misadventure’ and ‘Lullabies’ are stunning. The poems are so tightly written, and I feel like we don’t see that as much in her later books-it’s mostly short paragraphs/stories. Definitely recommend checking those 2 out.

I mean, this man went through Kendall Jenner's literary recommendations. Talk about being BRAVE.
How is no one else in the comments loosing their mind over the Lang Leav pronunciation I'm crying 💀
I was looking for a comment about that
läng lalalalallalaevevvevevev
Ikr I was thinking the same I'm dead 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Still chortling over this. Sounds like someone started scratching the guy's sweet spot half-way through.
THIS!!! I was literally looking for someone to mention this because I am laughing with tears in my eyes at that pronunciation.
Okay, but the way Kendall Jenner displayed her books is an actual crime and the amount of anguish it caused me makes me feel like I'm the one doing the time😭
To me it looked like a flatlay for Instagram that she forgot to put away. Probably, because she doesnt have an actual bookshelf...
Lol, probably 😂
I found it kind of funny that he nitpicked that when his shelf is sectioned by color lol
@@TheRaquelephant I mean, it’s better than have your books spread out like a spreadsheet
@@TheRaquelephant at least his is aestetic
“you’re not strangers, you’re friends” thank you, i feel ACKNOWLEDGED HAHAHAHA
The good ones:
-Houseguest by Amaparo Davila
-How to cure a ghost by Fariha Roisin
-Tonight i’m someone else by Chelsea Hodder
-No one belongs here more than you by Miranda July
Huh. That’s 4 more than what I was expecting.
i feel like she just chose a random handful of books with pretty covers and some hit and some miss... kinda representative of the kardashians themselves... just a lot of what things will look like
After a few months of showing off, we never see her with a book anymore 🤣
I love how he's simultaneously the most positive, forgiving and loving guy but says the most brutal shit about bad literature. I love it. HAHAHA
As someone who’s a book lover and an aspiring interior designer, seeing home some people use books for decorative purposes hurts my soul. The worst is when the have the covers removed and store the books with the pages facing outwards.
Who does that? 🥺🥺
Nooooo
I've heard that any book you aren't currently reading is a decoration. It's true in a way otherwise people wouldn't worry about organizing their bookshelves. Does it hurt your soul to see Jack's color gradient of books behind him in the shot because that was done for aesthetic decorations?
“RIP Malcolm X because he would’ve loved Kendall Jenner” fucking sent me
“A good gift to someone who you think would like poetry but doesn’t read very much of it if that makes sense” that made so much sense
IT DO!!
The fact that Kendal Jenner is known for being the ultimate "Pick me" and that the first book you read from her suggested reading catalogue was giving "pick me" energy made me giggle.
“this book is the future of writing” “IS THAT A THREAT” JACK ‼️‼️‼️
I'm procrastinating studying for my final physics exam and I don't know why, but I always feel less bad when I watch a Jack Edwards video because he gives off such an educated vibe so I just tell myself that I'm learning *something* so I'm not really wasting my time
I feel exactly the same
Meeee right now
Dude I've got an exam tomorrow and want nothing to do with it!!
I literally need to submit my maths Exam by midnight, and I have a physics exam tomorrow and trust I'M SO NOT READY!!!
I have my final finals: lab practices exams. Same
i don't have enough knowledge of the english language to express how poetic is the clip when your housemate enters the room with a bag of goods to give you some candy while you are sit on the ground talking about a book. The way he calls you darling and the way, after he leaves, you continue to talk as passionately as before is, to me, cinema.
I’m shocked you liked one! Was expecting to see you dismiss them all. Shows how you don’t go in with preconceptions and instead bring us honest reviews! Thank you again for another great video :)
it was such a mix!!! genuinely some of the best and worst books i've read all year
You can literally see that she just picked out the nicest looking books and "casually spread them out" on her bed for the decoration HAHAHA
(Omg thank you sm for all the likes HAHAH IT WASNT EVEN THAT FUNNY SO THANK YOU😃✋)
They're definitely all paying her to talk about them lol
I can’t 😂😂
Let's at least give her credit for not turning all her books backwards on a shelf. 🙄
@@teramonte7077 Lol. Oh yes! Johanna Gaines is famous in part for this.
Hahahaha
The dedication behind finishing books you don't like. I just can't do it.

Amparo Dávila passed away last year. She was from Pinos, Zacatecas (Mexico) and was married to another famous zacatecan artist, painter Pedro Coronel. There's a national short story award in her name. Greetings from Zacatecas.
If someone is interested: there's a novel by Cristina Rivera Garza (another mexican author) that makes reference to several stories of Amparo Dávila and has been translated to english: "The Iliac Crest", published by Feminist Press. (Greetings from Veracruz, México)

All these books covers make me weirdly uncomfortable. Like they're not ugly, but they make me want to look away or burn them idk why
THISSSS
YES YES IDK HOW TO EXPLAIN IT but uk those pictures that look very familiar from your childhood that just look disturbing? Those that people post like a bunch of them THOSEEEEEE RADIATE THE SAME ENERGYYY IDK HOW????
“...or burn them” WHY IS THIS SENDING ME 😭😭😭
they're not ugly but doesn't interest me on reading them. the cover feels so lonely
EXACTLYYY I HATE THOSE COVERS why is everyone finding them attractive
Can you do a video on Marilyn Monroe's favorite books pleaseeee? I recently learned she loved reading and had hundreds of books at home in her little library and I'm so curious about her taste in literature.
Love you🤍🌸
“This book is the future of writing”.... best response “Really? Is that a threat? 🤣🤣🤣
I subscribed right there
💀💀
I literally SCREAMED, when you said "This is the future of writing.... Is this a threat?" I laughed at that for literally too long
Lang Leav’s first two poetry collections ‘Love & Misadventure’ and ‘Lullabies’ are stunning. The poems are so tightly written, and I feel like we don’t see that as much in her later books-it’s mostly short paragraphs/stories. Definitely recommend checking those 2 out.
Why is no one talking about the "lang leeeellllll auuuuu ffff fffff ffffff" pronunciation, like I've literally rewinded the video 5 times just to hear that, and laughed the heck out 😂 8:28
Soooo funny 😂😂😂
I agree😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's a video, LOL!! I'm dying ruclips.net/video/XIkLR5u2GYg/видео.html
Lang LELELELELEL..... and what was with the fff sounds ahhahaha so funny
@ba da ba ba ba I'm sorry if it came across as rude or offensive but it was not intended to be so, we were just having a laugh over the way the video pronounced the name, not the name itself. I still apologise if it came across as offensive.
He STRIKES AGAIN !!! My friend you are on fire and have me HOOKED!!!!! 😻😻😻😻😻😻

I also need a roommate greeting me with "hi darling" and then proceeding to give me snacks, how wholesome and loveable is that??? No wonder you are thriving in this video
In German we have a word for your feelings towards the first book. It's called Fremdschämen.
Ooo I’m adding this to my vocab 😎
Fremdschämen= Secondhand embarrassment. Nothing special..
in finnish it's called myötähäpeä which would literally translate to with-shame
in Portugal we say "vergonha alheia" for secondhand embarrassment
There's a word for it in English too ;). Second hand embarrasment. In Dutch we say 'plaatsvervangende schaamte'. So this isn't really a word that is typical of the German language. A lot of languages have a word for it.
That rainbow bookshelf is everything lol
Also, if any of you are interested, a bunch of us started a book club! For May 2021 we’re reading 1984 :D

No way does she actually annotate her books with full sized post it notes lmfao
My theory: Other people like assistants read them first, and they tag the bits they advise her to try to read. But honestly, I doubt she's really reading them for retention. More like, you gotta be snapped reading these, whether you actually read them to understand and comprehend, eh no matter.
I feel like sea of strangers is a compilation of all the "so deep" tweets that come back twice a month
Exactly !! Very cringey and fake sounding
True. I still hate myself for buying it.
Back then i thought lang leav(the author of sea of strangers) is extremele good beacuse almost everyone in our class likes her works but then when i read one i was so confused because i didn't like it

Amparo Dávila died in 2020, she was 92. A brilliant writer.
Nooooo. So sad
may she rest in peace
Not to rip on Kendall Jenner but yes, totally to do that: It looks like she went out and chose the books for their cover and how nice they'd look on instagram. Honestly i've lost hope as a writer but seeing what managed to get published, i really should give it another shot. As long as i have a nice cover, it seems i'm covered.
Honestly I would much rather stay in an apartment above a pizza shop than a gigantic lonely mansion. If the pizza shop is good that is. Imagine pizza being so close to you at any minute...
That sounds like life goals.
That's how you'll die of pizza overdose 😂
Nah mate, you've got a chef and a wood fired oven in that mansion. Just ding-a-ling that bell and the chef will phone their Michelin star mate in Italy for their topping suggestion, then bring it you in your jacuzzi.
At least that's what I'd have if I were Kendall 😬🤣
i used to live next door to a pizza shop and i can confirm it is a great experience. whenever i wanted a snack i would go get a slice or if we ordered a pizza we would just go next door and get it
Ironically, living above a pizza shop in London doesn't even necessarily mean he's not posh
"Just because something appeals to mass audience doesn't mean it's inherently bad" SAY IT!!! I'm a newer subscriber but loving your vids. :)
The thing that’s sus about this is people who are into reading, their book collections are not full of aesthetically pleasing book covers. Like some of the ugliest books are my all time favourite - we go for quality not looks
Hopefully her taste is terrible, because I always end up buying a bunch of books after these videos
They have a large mansion, but you have easy access to pizza. Who is the real winner here?
Damn he actually organizes his laundry by darks and lights instead of just throwing everything in together and hoping for the best
I just watched the video where you read Kylie’s and Kendall’s book
it's a kendall jenner extravaganza this week on the jack edwards youtube channel lol

I think you read more of the “Kendall Jenner book recommendations” than Kendall herself. She maybe read two or three pages of one of them and then weirdly displayed them at the end of the bed because they looked aesthetic 🤣

They got some weird useless stuff just cause they rich and think it's "classy" when it's actually called "having no taste"
