While Kumble was literally the "Sankatmochak" Bowler of our team.
He was deadly accurate, if DRS was there then he could have taken atleast 100 more wickets as he bowled wicket to wicket.
He has 10 wickets in an innings vs Pak that is a huge achievement as only Jim Laker has done before him.
I consider him as the greatest match winner of India.

I actually remember crying the day Anil Bhai announced his retirement from international cricket at Delhi in November 2008. I'd watched cricket since 1998, and Kumble was the biggest match winner for India in those two decades. For me my childhood was over that day. I knew it was the beginning of the end of the glorious era of the 90's, that included Dada (who had already announced he'd retire after the next match), Dravid, Laxman and Sachin.

This is where I have big issue with Narrators and even some cricketers... SPIN is JUST not lateral...There is something called "Top Spin", which works havoc like how Perth wicket would do "trajectory beyond what batsman expect" - And Kumble was MASTER of that art.

I hugged Anil Kumble and took pic when I was kid. He is very friendly and loving outside field.
Anil Kumble's accuracy and line were impeccable hardly get to see such spinners these days with such an accuracy and line. Good thing about him he knows his limitations that he does not have a very sharp turning leg break but with worked on his subtle variations through which he can make batsmen dance on the pitch.

In 2001 after great performance by bhajji there was a talk to drop kumble. Captain ganguly backed kumble and jumble being the fighter he is firmly established as premium spinner. Only thing in his career was he should have retired an year before so that his average would have been 27 or 28 rather than close to 30. Of course it does make him less legend and he is the greatest match winner for india
