I stopped watching cricket after dada retired..
I never watched another game of cricket after dada retired. Cant explain the emotion of watching him play. It was like my own elder brother was playing. My mother used to get so tense when he batted, she would go sit in another room - we would tease her that she loved sourav more than us. When dada scored a 50 or a 100 - we would say: ma your son has scored today. Ma would call out and ask - out nahi hua na abhitak? We would tell her that tumhara beta abhitak hai crease par. I swear, it was like that in every bengali household. It was not just Sourav who played on those 22 yards - an entire nation of brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers played with him.

He is true god of Indian cricket- bar none - few reasons he made many gods in Indian cricket and never looked for individual fame. But Indians always credit people with individual records hence people like sourav or yuvi stand after and not before sachin or dhoni or virat (May be virat is a bit different)
Totally rubbish. Yuvraj and Dhoni flourished more under Dravid and Harbhajan was brought in Azhar 's Captaincy. Sachin is more respected because he is easily a greater cricketer as simple as that

@@sjai007 no, although I don't like Dhoni, he never backstabbed Ganguly. In fact, in Dada's last match, when India were about to win, Dhoni had given captaincy to Dada for few overs if I'm not wrong. Only Greg chappel and management backstabbed Dada, I don't think any player had issue with Dada.

It's a leadership lesson. I think the team observes the Leaders behavior and respond accordingly, knowingly or unknowingly. It's not the position "Captain" ...its who you are
@@arindamdutta9371 i m a bengali....but i love dravid more than ganguly....because he was dropped for his poor form that's it....he is god of off side and he is the best on this side....but he had very poor short selection in Onside.....yes dravid was very cool and he had no spine to talk chappel....but chappel became coach after john wright insisting by ganguly....Dravid was not culprit....bombay politics, his poor form, poor fielding, poor running between wicket were the main reason for dropping him from national side.....he neglected his own game to support newcomers.....if you want to play national side....you have to be selfish....he changed his batting order for others.....after all selectors will see ur contribution when u are a skipper.....and pls don't say that dravid is selfish....because he had given many match winning performance under ganguly.....Though i am a big dravid fan but i have a big soft corner for ganguly... Sorry guys....
