- This exercise that I will present is the best exercise you can do for your abdominal region. The transverse abdominis muscle is what holds and supports the lower back and pelvic structures. These muscles must be strong to help support the surrounding organs and other core muscles.
These muscles support breathing by helping to pull the abdomen inward, and in that way force air out of the lungs to make room for a new breath of fresh air. These muscles also raise the intra-abdominal pressure which is necessary for functions like urination, defection (having a bowel movement), vomiting, and vaginal childbirth.
When these deep muscles get stronger you will notice a big difference in your stomach region. It's a win-win because having a strong core will help your body in so many positive ways.

First a FIVE MINUTE AD that would not skip ahead and now a THREE MINUTE AD right after... this is ridiculous! Eight full minutes of ads before this video will play! I don't mind a short ad at the beginning or the end, but I am not sitting through 8 minutes of ads to watch a short video. I love this Doc and watch him all the time for excellent advice... but I cannot deal with these extra long ads.

Dr Mandell, I can't hold my arms up at all. They go almost totally lame. I suffer from Myasthenia Gravis, which was severely aggravated by an antibiotic adverse reaction. 😞 Only been out of the wheelchair now for 3 yrs and can now at least walk a bit again. Managed the sit up straight and sideways leaning sucking belly button in for three counts each. Exhausting. But I've got to get this belly fat down. Hopefully my hip fat will also shrink. Thank you very much for a fantastic channel. You are a real mensch! 🤗💜
