- John Anderson performs "Black Sheep" live at the Farm Aid concert in Austin, Texas on July 4, 1986. Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.

Farm Aid's performances are donated by the artists in order to raise funds and raise awareness for family farmers. They've raised their voices to help - what can you do?
Lord, I'm the Black sheep of the family.
What an ass kicker. He's one of the greatest of all time.
Not only is the song's lyrics total a hit but John's voice control is really vividly displayed in this video!
I'll tell ya what, this rhythm section is a high- ball travelin' train! That bass player is locomotive like in those runs and the drummer is focused and in the pocket. I love this performance, thanks for sharing.
One of the best, real country the way it should be, not like the garbage they call country today.
I have always loved the fact that his voice is *HIS* you know? I mean, you just immediately know that's it him singing. Now everyone sounds so much alike, you don't even know who the half of them are anymore.
One of the best voices in the history of country music 👍
Man what a voice. So authentic.. wish country music took pride in originality like this still.
Proud to be from Apopka FL where he was born and raised.
Don't get much Better than this..
I've been out to see many big name singers. Most of them were every bit as good as I expected, lots of talent. Hard to find one better than John Anderson. He hasn't lost much with age either. At the time I saw him he was about 60 years old, and the voice was still there. He's a very unique and talented singer.
His twang is something else, been hooked on his songs for a minute now!!!
Love this.
I am NOT a "country music fan" as one might be described, but I LOVE John Anderson.
This song is so me! I'm the black sheep of my family!
The base in this performance is amazing

Something about John Anderson and his band that transcends musical genres. Most underrated musician of the late 80's/early 90's. Just outstanding.
dumb, he was all over the radio and tv back inthe 80s.

That bass player and the drummer are dialed in!!❤❤❤
I remember watching Mr. Anderson back in the day. Boy!!!! Could he ever put on a show! Back when country music was country and told a story.
BASS Player SCHREDDIN!!!
Instant smile lol
Story of my life.
I was chasing burglars that night in a security cruiser when I first hear this song. It was a real effort to keep my foot off the accelerator. Great tune.
Don't feel like the lone ranger iam the black sheep in our family.

John Has the kind of Country voice that we all wished that we had. Keith Whitley was one them too. That and of course Good Ol George Jones. Then there was Who was he? Ah yes! Vern GosdinThe guy who sang ''Ste 'Em Up Joe''.
ALl great voices. Tell it like it is. I can listen to them all night and I'm a Yankee.

Who's that white haired guitar player??? He looks like a guy I saw playing with Steve Earle on Letterman
That’s me 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Chuck Norris na bateria...
Bitchin'.....
They should've turned up John's mic. The guitar is louder than John.
His mike wasn'tt loud enough for his vocals..
The instruments overstep him....
Can someone help me here? Who are the band members including that fellow with the scarf?
