Let me just preface this comment by saying I don't like Owen Jones and his general political stance and I feel very much the same about Nigel Farage. I voted for Brexit because I'm of the belief that the EU is a failed communist ideal that I want no part of. The issue of immigration isn't one based on racism but one of economic sustainability. If you keep letting people come into your house it doesn't take long before you can't cope and it becomes uncomfortable to live. Things like sleeping arrangements, washing and laundry, cooking and cleaning become difficult. Then when you can't sit down in your own house it's easy to blame the people who have come in. It is of course the fault of the people who let them in. The solution is either to move some people out or build an extension. The first seems simple but doesn't solve the problem. The second does solve the problem but takes vast amounts of time and money. This is only a temporary solution if you continue to let people in, you will need to build another extension. Put this problem on a national level and it's easy to see the problem isn't immigration it's the rate of immigration and it's the fault of the people who let them in. This is why we need to end FREE movement of people NOT movement of people. WE CANNOT DO THIS WHILE SIGNED UPTO ANY PART OF THE EU. Free movement of people will always be a part of any deal and it's not sustainable at it's current levels and will cause bad feeling. Free movement of people also puts huge strain on our infrastructure.

Then there's the money you take each month to cover the non rent weeks which I don't get because you put me in arrears. So after all of this I take home £41 a week which is just about enough for food and electricity. Everything else I can't have. .can't pay any bills or buy bed sheets and other essential things. .this government isn't just a disgrace they are so arrogant because they dispise poor people and the working class. .they are supposed to be their to serve the puplic not brake them..we must remove them from power!!!

Bearing in mind that bulk of economic immigration occurs to the poorer suburbs, where White working class live. I have no recollection of farmers in Lincolnshire ( where I am from) planting crops and then not bothering to harvest them or saying there was no one t pick them. Please tell me if I am wrong.
Ian C you are not wrong. But it is irrelevant now. For decades many farmers have relied upon foreign labour to undertake manual seasonal work. If that pool of labour is cut off, then the crops will rot in the ground. There used to be a tradition of labour moving out of the cities to harvest hops in Kent (for example), it was a working holiday. Those traditions have long since gone. Farming will be damaged beyond recognition. Farmers will attempt to grow things that make money, as they always have done, but that will not be labour intensive crops, unlikely to be lamb, beef or diary if we lose the EU market, and only produce for the home market. So my request is that you become more politically engaged in the future :)
imaweerascal I was and am politically engaged, I was just on the fence in the referendum and I voted the wrong way. I'm sure there are thousands in the exact same position as I am
"Most people don't understand it" AKA what she wants to say " Don't give poor people a vote their to thick to understand anything" What a nice woman hahahaha
That was the reason Swedish politicians used not to give people a vote on the Lisbon treaty. Any time a people got to vote on closer federal union they rejected it, and what did politicians do instead? Amend past treaties to include what people rejected in popular vote.
Most people didn't understand it, despite thinking they did. Why do you associate a lack of knowledge about something with being poor? That's your comparison, not hers. Seems like maybe you are the one generalising. Why can't you just take what she has said in the words she said it in? Seems like a fair enough comment.
@ Hannah Tay 'Most people' means most people, whether they are educated or not. The economic outcome of Brexit is an immensely complicated issue; so much so, that different economists who have dedicated their lives to the subject have differing views. And that's just the economic impact. We then have the different (but related) _social_ implications. These, of course, are something the economists are perhaps no longer expert upon (with good reason) and therefore we perhaps have to look to a different set of experts for their forecasts on those. So how are these decisions _supposed_ to be made? By a *representative* democracy (as distinct from a *referendum* democracy). Politicians don't understand these issues any better than the rest of us. What they _do_ have though is ready access to a plethora of expert civil servants who advise them on the various subjects. We vote for people not because we have any confidence in their expertise in some particular issue. We vote for them because we assume (or hope) that they will take advice from experts on the best course of action _on our behalf._ If they don't, we vote them out again in four years time. I consider myself a reasonably intelligent person, but I certainly did not want to be given a vote on Brexit, (a) because I didn't know the first thing about it and (b) because I quickly realised that to understand it enough to make anything like an informed decision on it would take years and years of dedicated study.
Who's going to pick the vegetables? Change the UK unemployment culture. Unemployment benefit is a lifeline not a lifestyle. Offer the work instead of the dole. There are 1.4 million unemployed people in the UK. Give them the opportunity to support themselves and their families and regain their will to work and their self respect and for those who've never worked some experience of at least doing something more than just heading down to the dole office once a month. Make farmers offer a living wage for the work and set reasonable standards for supermarket produce that doesn't allow them to reject perfectly acceptable fruit and veg simply because it's not totally blemish free and of inconsistent size. In the past people would go to the country in different seasons and pick what's needed. It's not some ghastly throwback to a peasant life, it's work.
Absolutely bang on I know people living another streets with booking range rovers parked outside their houses in invalid parking spaces and getting benefits for the pleasure this country is f****** totally dysfunctional all those people on benefits should be made to contribute something for their money no matter what it is even if it's licking stamps for the royal mail instead of sponging from the taxpayer all their lives

Having watched and heard this video, l am of the conclusion that Anna Soubry is totally confused, she contradicted herself several times, she slagged Trump off then proceeded to give him praise. She went on about work ethics claiming the immigrates that come to this country do all the work, that there are more British people out of work and signing on, because it seems these people won't do the work the immigrants do, this is both insulting and degrading to all those people signing on, who have spent many hours looking for work that does not appear to be out there, she also claims that mass immigration isn't happening, that the crime rates have gone up since the 2016 vote to leave took place. I conclude by saying to Anna Soubry one thing, get out there and take a long hard look at the real world, see the problems for yourself instead of sitting in your little bubble of Fantasy and Fairy tales....

She's over the top in her talk of freedom of speech going because she hasn't had a debate on the single market is outstandingly idiotic. Also her lack of faith in the British people when it comes to working, she believes if immigrants don't do the hard jobs no one will. If a market of work is out of staff and no immigrants are hear to take it (hypothetically) believe me, British people will do it, and they will have to give better wages as well instead of mass influx of immigration driving down the wage gap, killing the middle class family and making a housing crisis.
How did our grandparents survive before we joined the Common Market? The same grandparents who built the country, the sons and pioneers of the Industrial Revolution?
Britain was the most successful economy in the world in the 1890s but went into the relative economic decline from the 1900s onwards as the USA and Germany caught up and overtook us. We had a massive empire. But, by the 1970s we were one of the least successful major economies: we had rested on our past wealth. Under Thatcher we improved for a while but, per capita,we are still one of the least successful of the major economies in terms of productivity, export performance and in terms of patents for new inventions. It has nothing to do with the EU and by leaving we are just shooting ourselves in the head.

rotater 84 take back control from hundreds of miles away? ahem I'm from the north east. I detest Westminster haha
imaweerascal I was and am politically engaged, I was just on the fence in the referendum and I voted the wrong way.
Think UKIP has more to do with immigration than the EU. But both angers people.
they're too thick*
Love how she completely slags off Cameron and Johnson, and then when it comes to May starts towing the party line again
So glad she has disappeared from the public domain.
Jones and soubry, the two worst people in politics.
I don't think anyone would give a flying f**k what either of them two think
Sorry Owen but this was just a 15 minute moan from both of you. Anna is the most opportunistic and cynical of Tory MPs and sad to see you embracing her because she happens to share your views on this one issue.
Stop moaning and get over it.
How is she opportunist when she speaks out against her party and government and the so called 'Will of the people' She's actually a breath of fresh air and most of the critism she receives is funnily enough from men. And men much like yourself with no actual argument.
Owen and Anna appear to be from the chattering classes, the chattering classes who do not understand what has happened to them... :)
Yeah, because a country run by public school psychopaths and their knuckle-dragging fan club is really going places.. Death to the intellectuals!
She says that she respects the result of the referendum. But she does not...lt's just hot air.
She has caused most of the division herself.
James M - To be fair no one should respect the result of something 17.4 million morons voted for! They don’t deserve it as they were too stupid to vote the right way!
Dommi is that feminine fir dominic same applies for you like your opinion is more valid then the MAJORITY learn what democratic voting means you wet wipe !! ......... dommi 😂 what a confused vulnerable person you are .........wanker ✊🏻💦 go have a fruit shoot and calm down silly bollocks
@@dommidavros2211 You're another one of those Remainiacs that can't string a sentence together without being insulting. It's a pity EU-loving people like you can't be shipped off to a country that's an EU member so we can be rid of you and your offensive remarks.
@@dommidavros2211 The right way? Who the hell are you to tell us what the right way is? What you mean is YOUR way is right because you're a committed Europhile and those that disagree are wrong.Given that attitude I'd vote against you just to be bloody minded!
Eww gross Anna Soubry.
"Who's gonna do the work"
How about the seemingly endless stream of unemployed guests Jeremy Kyle manages to find on a daily basis?
Or unemployed ex MP's Anna? Get ya wellies on!
@@caeserromero3013 and what about our royal family, who have been scrounging off the state for yrs
Two patient people listening to each other and making measured and thoughtful responses. Compare this to Owen talking to Piers Morgan!
Anna Soubry is a decent person no wonder she left the Tories !
She voted 9 times against increasing nhs nurses wages
When I was a young boy I used to go spud, fruit, veg picking. The EU stopped all that, that is why they now employ foreigners.
Love your in depth analysis of this complex situation. Have you ever thought of being a politician. You would have it sorted in no time.
Trump, a politician who actually delivers on his promises. No wonder he is derided by the media and British politicians.😂😂😂
Lol, are you American? You cannot be. Which promise? Mexico paying for the wall? How about the best health care ever? How about tax cuts helping the middle class? Yeah, no. The guy lies more than nearly any other politician in modern memory. Do you love lies? Do you enjoy when people lie to you?
Owen jones got a face you could punch a lot of times and never get bored of doing it he should repect the 2016 vote if he was a man of the people thats what makes British democracy the best in the world we didn't say in 1975 let have a nother vote just to check that what the people wanted cause we voted the way the government wanted then that democracy
I didn't think owen Jones liked Nazis
Why is she having a dig at Labour, when it's her party, the tories who gave us the referendum. And stirred up this anti immigration, anti EU rhetoric, aided by the right wing media for yrs. And the then pm, Cameron who did a lousy job of persuading people to vote remain. And our tory government appear to have taken incompetence to a new level. Hypocrisy comes to mind
You guys look alike in the thumbnails
The prospect of sitting through this videos is unbearable
If we needed foreign workers, which we do not, why not use the tried and tested Gastarbeiter scheme utilised by the Germans in the 1970s when they still had some sense. No families, no settlement just single people on a contract. I think we know why do you ?
agree
I keep seeing this 6th form student, Owen Jones popping up everywhere! Why is this kid being given the time of day?? Doesn’t he have exams to revise for?
Looks like they have done a remake guys of the film DUMB AND DUMBER
And many of us will never forgive her.
Still, she's gone now, so we had the last laugh. Merry Brexmas!
I thought the country had changed its mind and wanted to remain !? ... "seems NOT" ... Hahaha ha ha ha ha haaaaa ... you lose !
BONG
Two people stuck in an echo chamber of lies. You could have scripted the conversation before it happened.
For controllong immigration, try compulsory home registration and compulsory ID's as we practice here in ther Netherlands. Brian Oosterbeek,, Netherlands
Can't happen in Britain Brian.
Asking a black or brown face to identify themselves would be
RACIST RACIST RACIST.
the new No1 crime in cowardly Liberal Britain.
So we're wide open to illegal immigration.
This lady has views that were popular amongst Barbadian slave owners 200 years ago.
Owen did you really get Douglas Murray blocked from appearing on channel 4 news with you ? He says you did
Yes, in Douglas' words, the "wrong type of gay", apparently. Either that or little boy Owen was frightened that Douglas would wrap him up in stitches.
Douglas (what an archaic name - much like Jacob) has more in common with that other pripaganda con artist, your Sam).
More than likely. He blocked me from his twitter because I disagreed with him
Excuse my ignorance, but who is this woman?
Had to watch, its great to see 2 enormous plonkers together.
I managed workers in Lincolnshire fields and plenty of British workers were willing and did do that. She lies , I worked around Spalding. You liar Soubry
With respect Anna what about workers' rights to secure employment and reasonable working conditions?
Couldn't make it past 4 minutes. Loathesome woman
Talks a good talk, but why did she vote for triggering article 50?
Kiran Trivedy self preservation at its best.
just like dianne abbot pulling a sicky.
Kiran Trivedy because the people voted for Brexit? You know the democratic will of the peopl
fact: the population of the UK is increasing by near one million every two years. Freedom of Movement is part of the reason.
What absolute contempt u have for voters. How thick r u .... working class voted for Brexit coz they r the most affected by immigration and regulations. Snobbery again - and we have heard it all before thanx love.
Silvi Johnson because the tories austerity cut funding to public services
working class voted for Brexit coz they r the least educated and believed in the counterfactual nonsense the brexit campaign was peddling. They'll be the most affected by the consequences and they won't be pleased.
She was one of the politicians who was dead set against us having a vote in the first place. The piss head knows best not
She is as common as muck. He is a idiot. They sing lie after lie after lie. Trouble. This 2. ,,
Anna said to some of her constituents that she did not want their vote....and guess what she lost her seat!
So wages haven’t been kept down?
Such a positive effect that I quit my job.
THEIR NOT FUCKIN LAUGHING NOW ARE THEY LOLOLOLOLOL
Owen I love your interview style. You ask clever, well thought out questions. You don't interrupt, even if you might be in opposition to a point. You give real space for someone to expand on their opinion. These are the kind of clear conversations we need in a time full of fake news and misconstrued messages. Thank you Thank you!
She's absolutely VILE
Fascinating conversation and such an eye opener, thanks.
owen you still cringing little boy , sit down and let the adults get it done
Watching these two just screeches to me as more of a "performance" than an interview.
Two of my least favourite people, this video actually makes me feel sick.
These are like 2 peas in a pod but are supposedly from opposite ends of the political spectrum. Sums it up really. This is the political class. Both are clueless because they live in a bubble.
Not since Jayne Mansfield have I seen a bigger pair of tits.
I'm middle class as fuck and voted leave.
She should never have been allowed into the Conservative party
More conservatives voted to leave than Labour people
@Flibbertigibbet6
I’m an ex Labour supporter , if your statement is true how did Tony Blair get elected twice
@Flibbertigibbet6
I live in the North of England Labour voters around here voted to leave
The Labour voters of wales voted to leave
The Labour voters of the north east voted to leave
Ps
It’s the best decision the British public have ever made
Jones wants to be Sourberry when he grows up.
Looking back at her as a Conservative I couldn’t stand her she was arrogant thought she was correct on everything and let’s be honest she has no polices that are Conservative at all
A pair of prat’s together.
She is like you Owen a dam liar and out for herself
And where are you both now?.....🤣
Finally one normal conservative
