@@crackmastergeneral I'm not changign the subject at all. You suggest the elite (ie. all those who have influence and power over society) are socialists. Most leavers are influential businessmen or run the actual government and are definitely not socialists. What you have said is nonsense
Remain lost because there was no positive vision for the future of the EU other than increased integration and, ultimately, federalism. Brexit's vision of the UK striking back out into the world won it.
That is utter nonsense and you should be ashamed for spouting it. Every EU member state has a veto, Macron recently used the French one over North Macedonia's entry into the EU. The idea that further integration is possible with us in, on top of Poland and Hungary is just silly. Do you really think the Hungarians want further integration? No matter how much you hear MEPs bang on about it, it's just simply not possible on the scale you're worrying about.
Hi Owen. You asked for some suggestions of people to interview. Could you interview Dennis Skinner? He will have an interesting perspective of Brexit and being in a high Leave voter constituency.
His reasons being he’d lose the debate! I’m saying that as someone who likes Corbyn but I’m also a realist and the crucial swing voters aren’t going to vote for him. We needed someone without his baggage as this election should be all about stopping Brexit.
Because if you support the left, you have to bite your tongue until december 13. I have issues with corbyn, but there's no way I'm going to attack him during a snap election campaign. Save it for the Tories/ yellow Tories
Jeremy Corbyn only has issues which the media campaign has given him. The whole narrative is designed in the dark. Now you all find yourself repeating it.
I had forgotten why I stopped listening to O'Brien until he mentioned being part of the antisemitism attacks on JC to whom, he just admitted, he had already taken an irrational dislike and he subsequently seized on those accusations as the justification for his enmity and no argument could possibly sway this fixation. I found I could no longer accept he was being honest in his criticisms of the news he was delivering and therefore no longer credible for me. I know you like to be an agreeable type of interviewer but don't do it over his claims that Labour is a hot bed of antisemitism.
@@StephenTownsley Irrational from my perspective though. He pointed out, in this interview he could of been won over to "Corbynism" but the Labour leader failed to argue for his political philosophy on his show. Winning him over would not have been a possiblity where O'Brien would have been trying to corner him rather than to acknowledge his points. O'Brien's audience might have gained some insight, yes, but O'Brien argues strongly because his own philosophy is rooted deep.
Corbyn could have won people over but he was too busy winning over the people that already love him that when it came to the rest of the country, everyone else was already fed up of him and he had more important inner party things to deal with - is a valid position.
This is like listening to people arguing about religion. They’re misrepresenting the other side shamelessly to win cheap points. On the plus side, James O’Brien has killer moobs.
If james would back JC4PM we would have a landslide. LBC has a big audience. I still find it weird that the leader of the Brexit party has his own prime time slot to spread his ridiculous rhetoric.
The remain campaign only ever concentrated on the economic side of Brexit (which is not an exact science). They never touched on the issue of EU political union (the whole reason for Brexit), because they knew political union was unpopular. They then ended up believing their own hype - that leaving the EU was a far right racist endeavour. Meaning that they were arguing against a position that most leave voters didn't hold. Worse still, their whole campaign ended up as basically 'No We Can't!' - which was the opposite of Obama's winning campaign slogan.
He would destroy them. O'Brien really fancies himself as a political and economic intellectual but in reality he is a phone in host on a radio station. The other one is just an annoying, baby faced little pansy.

Guy Fawkes What’s Cameron got to do with it? He supported Remain. Journalists (inc Boris) have been spreading misinformation about Europe for decades (or have you been ignoring the press and visiting Brussels and Strasbourg every week or 2 for the past few years?)

I'm a Brexit voting person but I do find it ironic that the austerity of the last 10 years has been blamed on the EU and the Tory government. I've no financial brain at all but it seems to me the crash of 2008 caused the austerity with countries having to bail out banks to prevent a total collapse at the time, and the last 10 years has been the hangover.
I would be Interested to see you debate Douglas Murray, he said that in 2017 you refused to go on a Channel 4 panel with him present so they had to drop him from the show. Considering you've been outspoken about getting more LGBTQ members in the media, and Douglas Murray is openly gay, how do you justify refusing to talk to an openly gay political writer? I know his views are effectively the opposite to yours but doesn't discriminating which gay writers should be recognised in the media based on ideology defeat the point?
Guys you lost because people who voted to leave (deal or no deal) knew exactly why and what they were voting for. Unlike remainers who on the evidence here did not.
Something I've been saying since day 1, and even before that in the scottish referendum, is that it's very easy to campaign for change to people who have it tough. Once the working class pub politicians have decided that is the cause of their problems, and that there's a big opportunity for change, it's very very hard to stand up and say 'no, we want to keep things as they are' because nobody wants that. As much as facts can prove that the EU is not the cause of their issues, if it's sunk in then it's sunk in, and campaigning against change will suddenly seem like campaigning for continuation of their problems
Do some research yourself. I'm sure you wouldnt just believe me if I told you. Just the same as I'm sure you wouldnt just believe that the eu is a good thing for the countries that join without researching it yourself. I think you will be mildly shocked at the knock on effects from joining it. I'm not saying it is all bad because it definitely isnt. People voted for brexit for a multiple of reasons. if some of the disadvantages out weigh the advantages in there economic or social circumstances then they have every right to want to be out of it. Just like if the advantages benefit someone they have every right to vote to stay in. But let's not pretend that the eu is some king of paradise or hell hole. It has its issues and advantages. You just got to figure out if they benefit or disadvantage you personally. Only way to do that is by researching it yourself. But I urge everyone not to listen to someone else's point of view on it and to figure it out themselves. To easy for someone who benefits from its membership to say its wonderfull or someone who is disadvantaged from membership to say it is horrible. Figure your stance out on your own merit. Just like I have. For me the disadvantages outweigh the advantages. Which is why I voted leave.
I cant believe how much im offended by this video. People are not stupid. We had a democratic vote. WE chose to leave Europe, not with some bs deal but come what may. The people spoke and its about time people started respecting the democratic vote and got on with it. If we were to have a 2nd vote without concluding the will of the people on the first vote then democracy in the UK is dead and we might as well have a revolution

Interview ME ! I will explain why Brexit is as irrelevant as Remaining. Democracy is not founded on Political virtue, voting or the idea of Freedom and sovereignty, as these things cannot exist whilst the Central Banks control the issuance of money and bankers are allowed to create deposits (QE) by the flick of a pen! The whole Brexit idea is a sham, as we shall find out when Boris the awful has laid bare his plans. We will have a Brexit that simply makes us a vassal state and 32 Billion pounds lighter for the 'privilege'...tax payers money given away for what!?
Hi Monty, your probably right about central banks, but to the average joe in the street that is a conspiracy theory. To those that have done the reading it is a fact that we can't change in our lifetimes. My experience tells me that the Brexit vote was an anti, unregulated immigration vote. A subject the mainstream media won't acknowledge and the reason David Cameron went to Brussels and was rebuffed. The average Brit wants to get on an uncrowded train/bus in the morning and not have his job taken by an ever cheaper wave of migrant labour. He cares not who controls the money supply. I look forward to an expansion of your thoughts. Regards Ho Lee.
Long before the official campaigns even started the Government started project fear, and had the treasury produce works of complete fantasy. So the idea that they were never ready is absurd. It was leave who were unprepared, several uncordinated groups starting their campaigns in various states of disarray over a week after the remain started. Let's not re-write history.
There is a debate on RUclips between the Hitchens brothers about the EU and Christopher was very pro EU and Peter was against. So you can find his opinion if you like. Sadly I think he would have been a remainer, even though he is against totalitarianism. From what I remember of the debate he believed that the EU had prevented war in Europe. Watch the video, it's excellent like all of his output.
What Hitchens thought is irrelevant. Reason is irrelevant. This is all about passion, emotion and self identification. One side feels itself British and the other feels itself globalist. The one side values the freedom of self determination while the other side values the freedom from responsibility. The twain shall never meet. This why both sides think the other is stupid. Because they cannot fathom how the other could possibly want the opposite. Now one could think up a million reasons why but the true and only reason is. The one lot is lazy, the other isn't. It's as base as that.

James you have been mislead, Anti Semitism is not endemic in the Labour Party, of the 1,000 (approx) complaints last year the vast majority had no basis in fact.( i think 9 were suspended or expelled). It is a myth promulgated by those hostile to a radical Labour party.
Not sure what the ,'No,just no' refers to, I presume you still think Anti Semitism is rife in the Labour Party? well it's not, look up the figures if you like, I would also point out that many who have been suspended , such as Chris Williamson, were suspended on mere accusation, something which in a court of law would be thrown out as insufficient. I would also point out that Jeremy Corbyn has spent his political life campaigning against Racism(and that includes Israels behaviour towards Palestinians). he was arrested for protesting against the imprisonment of Nelson Mandela , when Margaret Thatcher was calling Mandela a 'Terrorist' The Conservative party is far more racist.
O'Brian is so against the Labour Party he said he would vote for his local Labour candidate. He said he was recently driven by the issue of anti-semitism. He is entitled to be reluctant to support a political party if he feels it is being racist or not combating racism. Having fair criticism isn't "anti".
Surprised James didn't challenge the idea Remain lost rather than electoral corruption defrauded the electorate. A tiny proportion of the population were against the EU before the Ref campaigning. William Boulton So what WERE you voting for? Please tell us something positive, not just ‘to leave’. Exactly how will things be better for all of us? Just by the way - it’s ‘must HAVE’, not ‘of’.
Remain did have a focus. O’Brien lies. Remain were determined to overturn the result of the referendum by lying! They lied and lied again. All they ever did was lie. They even said the British people didn’t understand what they were voting for. Yes they did. They were voting to make Britain into a normal country - just like Australia or Japan. And they wanted to be able to reduce immigration which was destroying the quality of life for ordinary British people. No honourable person would lie and manipulate and falsify the news in the way that Remainers have. And despite what any will say they, the Remainers, have won. Whatever happens Britain will never leave the EU in any realistic way. Once again it is proof Britain is not a democracy. It probably never has been. In fact if a Britain were remotely democratic we wouldn’t have had mass immigration at all, especially from the places they mostly come from.
Okay, nice rant. But presumably you have some examples of remainer lies? "People didn't know what they were voting for" doesn't count because it's an opinion. But leaving the EU is like leaving anywhere else, there are a 1000 different places that you can go afterwards and probably not all of the 52% wanted the same destination. In that context, people didn't know what they were voting for, didn't know where the country will eventually end up.

'It doesn't make you a racist to fear the speed of demographic change within your community.' Never knew O'Brien was _far-right_
I had forgotten why I stopped listening to O'Brien until he mentioned being part of the antisemitism attacks on JC to whom, he just admitted, he had already taken an irrational dislike and he subsequently seized on those accusations as the justification for his enmity and no argument could possibly sway this fixation. I found I could no longer accept he was being honest in his criticisms of the news he was delivering and therefore no longer credible for me.
I know you like to be an agreeable type of interviewer but don't do it over his claims that Labour is a hot bed of antisemitism.
It sounded like a rational dislike. I dont agree with some of his points but they are not irrational.

WaaGriever Why James would ever back Corbyn, if Corbyn refuses to get interviewed by him? And so does fartage, by the way. They are both scared.
That word garbage made no sense whatsoever. The remainers lost because of the onslaught of misinformation.

Guys you lost because people who voted to leave (deal or no deal) knew exactly why and what they were voting for. Unlike remainers who on the evidence here did not.
Oh look they like each other. There's a surprise.
What facts prove the eu is not the cause of their problems exactly
@@willtruthteller4694 depends on the issue. what problems does the EU give us?

William Boulton So what WERE you voting for? Please tell us something positive, not just ‘to leave’. Exactly how will things be better for all of us?
Just by the way - it’s ‘must HAVE’, not ‘of’.
Is that seriously it? 12mins?
Radley2612 nazi
@Radley2612 yet here you are Radley, oh no
Radley26122 I think you are a troll. And if you think you aren't, then explain your comment or shut up.
I dont think even James can take much more than 12 minutes of Owen "the soy boy" Jones..
Lewis Noden
Indeed. What a waste!!
The cognitive dissonance on display here is amazing

I guess you suffering ED.
Ali Zaidi. I expect you were the one who had my last post deleted. You couldn’t stand the fact that I employed exactly the same kind blind stupidity we have to put up with from the likes of O’Brien and Jones (and the BBC) every bleedin’ day.
Old Man you do realise the only people who can delete comments on a RUclips video are the people in control of the channel that it is uploaded to, not random visitors? No? Why don’t you have a go at deleting this comment, see how far you get.
The reason why you Remainers types were so shocked, is because you stopped those with an opposing view point, from speaking openly, and taking away their rights to speak, where your own still flourish. As a result you were excluded from our dialogue. Some of my friends have been visited by the police. Some Sent off to prison for a ridiculous charge of apparently hate speech.
police is informed,
this time we get YOU finally *TOO*
its over, freeze peach bad, you are all too rebellious
This must be the first time that these two sneering obnoxious characters have been in a conversation without shouting down the other person in mid sentence.
Can you expand , no thought so
@@kangaroo1888 Listen to JOB tomorrow morning on LBC when a Brexiteer calls in, then you can come back and explain.
wow, 'Remain were never ready for the fight' - just the LibDems, Labour, Cons, Greens, all together officially backing remain, and a government leaflet through every door recommending remain... but 'not ready' .. amazing logic from these two
But they were not ready to fight the leave argument. They were not prepared to put to bed the lies and misinformation coming from leave. They were fully ready to say remain but they couldn't effectively fight the dirty fight that was unleashed on the public. All election processes include such awful misinformation and lies now, no election is ever fought on simple facts anymore and that's why we get the results we do.
O'Brien him self is a toxic journalist. He offers no balance on LBC, he makes me want to vomit.
he offers FACTS on LBC. The reason you can only hate him is because you're so far gone to admit that you've believed a bunch of utter lies. Ego protection.
@What's It All About What utter nonsensical rubbish you talk.
@What's It All About And the fact that you think this is why the UK is doomed. I hope you enjoy losing your freedom and stability.
@What's It All About Nope. I'm a brit and I recently moved to Germany. I'm sure you'll now spout some rhetoric about the fact that the UK will not miss me but the brain drain is a real thing and the UK is slowly losing all of its global power and respect. It's not too late for you to realise the disaster that brexit will be alongside COVID. IT turns out the NHS used its brexit stockpile in response to COVID, oh dear. A lot of other companies did too, you allowed yourself to be manipulated by the leave campaign and the top 1% who will really benefit from Brexit. I'm sorry.
So you've never listened to the show... LBC weekdays 10:00 - 13:00
That was pretty decent. Wish It was twice as long.. :)
My mate's wife is French, his family are from a rural area - Christmas is a tense affair
Is he a Brexiteer?
@@Gooner184 No, his Family all are though. Rural and uneducated, of course they are and so are all their friends. Shame rural areas will be decimated by Brexit...
He's literally a nuclear physicist.
as a brown person in a rural, white, tory stronghold constituency, i see this way too much.
@Grief what does that mean? i shouldn't be living where suits me best because of other people's hostility? That sure sounds like a country to be proud of
@Grief wrong country? please elaborate, i forgot who came where first
Anyone who broadcasts on Brexit at a personal profit to himself and then criticises someone like Jacob Rees Mogg for dealing with Brexit as a being a profit to themselves is, in my view, a total hypocrite.
As such, I suggest to all that James O'Brien [a.k.a. 'Captain Backfire'] is a total hypocrite.
Owen and James, has either of you ever experienced a life of poverty, struggling to make ends meet each and every single day? I don't think either of you has ever experienced that type of existence, and this is why both of you are having great difficulties understanding why Brexit happened.
If you honestly believe that leaving THE BIGGEST TRADING BLOCK IN THE WORLD is going to solve poverty and the struggles of everyday life in the uk then you're deluded!
@@matthewhull2676 Well you're deluded if you think staying in the EU will help ordinary people with the struggles of everyday life in the UK. How's Greece, Spain, Italy etc. doing these days, still got high unemployment.
@@ruthbashford3176 That is down to their own governments and how they're handling their own economy it has NOTHING to do with the EU!. Also its quite funny to me how no one gave a crap about the EU several years ago yet when some absolute dingbat named Nigel Farage started saying utter nonsense about the EU, you all suddenly think that the EU is affecting your everyday lives and that leaving (which i'll say again) THE BIGGEST TRADING BLOCK IN THE WORLD will improve your life. Btw if you strongly believe that leaving the EU is going to end the now decade plus austerity that is going on right now in the UK, improve living standards, end child poverty and give us a bigger and better foot hold on the global stage in terms of trade then you're in for a unpleasant and rude awakening come January 1st when Boris Johnson and EU's deal take effect or it might be no deal.. only time will tell.
Think we need an interview with Maurice Glasman
There's a name I haven't seen in a couple of years. Is he still batting for bringing the EDL into Labour?
Labour & Corbyn could have done more to tackle the anti-semitic problem? What problem? If by that you mean critisism of the Israeli government then, fair enough yes that does go on in the Labour party.
What problem? The Labour party is being investigated by the Equality and Human Rights Commission for endemic anti-Semitism. The only other party to be investigated for similar reasons was the BNP.
@@robwilde6857 Yes & they found nothing. Im not a labour voter because i live in Scotland! It was an onvious smear campain to get Corbyn out by the centrists. Critisism of the Israeli government is not anti semitic.
@@phenotyped4961
Yes it is.
@@fundyden4771 how?

I have no problem with people criticising Israeli politicians that's how it should be. But anti-zionism is anti-semitism, Israel is the historical home of the Jewish people they have always had a presence in that land and you will find also that people who use the excuse I'm only arguing against the country of Israel they are always anti-semitic. I never see anyone say the Palestinians are out of order for firing rockets and killing Israeli children but they are very quick to point to Israel's heavy handedness, Israel is doing nothing more than defending itself.
