We absolutely love the outdoors, and are getting for our first hiking trip (not backpacking yet) with an almost 3 and almost 1 year old (and one on the way!) This has been super helpful for thinking about days on the trail. I think it’s so important to change the mindset around having little kids: they’re not limiting, they’re a joy to bring along for the journey :)

This is amazing. I’m so excited to have kids, but was always apprehensive because of society’s mindset around babies, meaning putting your life / adventure / travel plans on hold. My husband and I are very outdoorsy and adventurous and I have no intentions of stopping that once we have a baby. Thank you for putting this content out there!
Great video! I like glow in the dark accessories/chem sticks for easy identification of my 2 year old at night. His backpack, jacket, and cap have Velcro patches that I can slap some glow in the dark patches, and the chem sticks I can attach to his backpack or even tape to a pant leg or jacket sleeve. There are even glow in the dark pull tabs from MSR and various other companies that you can attach to zippers and such. Reaaaally helpful at night
I use the Trail Magic for hiking more than my kid carrier now. It's amazing!! I actually feel like it helps balance my weight out to have my one year old on the front. Haven't used it for backpacking. But use it every time I day hike. Love love love. Worth every penny.
Lol we are newbies to backpacking, and we are doing it with a kid and a dog. We also use osprey backpacks, and have a larger first aid kit. I watch other RUclipsrs and am always shocked by how small their first aid kits are lol. We also use a saddle dog backpack, she gets so excited when we bring it out lol. I'm glad as newbies we are doing some smart things!
