Elephant Naps & Baths! Baby Khanyisa Mud Bathes & Sleeps With Matriarch Tokwe

- Catch up with Lammie and Nungu at the orphanage and carer Khensani who is helping to prepare the sheep’s bed for the night in their nursery! Then join Tokwe and Khanyisa out in the bush as they squash into a small mud pool. Khanyisa decides to take a nap alongside Tokwe in the mud and after a few Zzz’s she takes over the mud bath herself. The two elephants are side by side on this afternoon in the wilderness, with Tokwe helping to look after the youngest elephant in the herd!
I love how she keeps touching Tokwe by leaning on her and putting her feet on her to have contact. She's a little toddler wanting affection. So precious.❤❤❤

Between both her human and elephant herd/carers, You have all done an outstanding job with Khanyisa securing her survival through some very worrying and life threatening moments. Thankyou to every human ,Lammy and Elephant member of your team. It is so wonderful to be privaledge to watching all your efforts and dedication to secure the survival and welbeing of Khanyisa and of course the whole Jabulani herd and all it stands for
If heaven exists, I am pretty sure it looks like this. Laying underneath one of, if not the-most beautiful and majestic creatures on this planet in pure peace feeling completely protected and safe from the horrors of the world. Hearing the sweet gentle sounds of the breeze plus the various rumbles, breaths, and ears flapping... Add in Adine's beautiful little song and it can't get much better than that. If this is what it looks like even just before you pass away, I have nothing to be afraid of.

Tokwe has a lot of patience with our little pink baby. She stands so still so that Khanysia can gently reach up and know that she is being protected if she wants to take an "elephant nap". Sweet.
Lol a toddlers' sense of personal space is limited. Tokwe is such a fascinating being. And it's something to see what Khanyisa's learned from her time with the rest of the herd. I admire all of the ellies in different ways.😊

In my mind Tokwe is Khanyisa’s grandmother with Lundi and Kombura as her mamas. Its so obvious that the whole herd has taken to this little pink princess. I think they feel as lucky to have her as we all feel. I find myself including the herd even the humans in my prayers at night. Y’all are so special!!!

There are definitely some things humans can't teach.😅 Khanyisa's curiosity & intelligence help her today and will help other elephants in years to come. Tokwe's an epic matriarch. I'd love to hear anecdotes about how she became one at such a young age.

The university education component is wonderful. The students garner more empathy, realistic expectations from those of you with feet on the ground every day. Respect without romanticism. I know that what I’ve learned is respect for elephant CULTURE. It’s been an eye opening and humbling experience.
I have learned, too, to look for what I have in common with the elephants rather than the other way around. It’s a true gift they give me.
This video is an absolute gem! Seeing Meisiekind being soooo affectionate with Tokwe is heartwarming. I believe that Tokwe was really moved by the whole thing. When Khanyisa lied down next to Tokwe whilst gently playing footsies with her was just too cute. Khanyisa most definitely knows who's boss--but that doesn't stop her from getting right in the action!

Khayisa loves to feel the contact of Tokwe while lying down which makes her feel secure. Had to laugh at her persistence trying to get those roots in the mad hole; she doesn’t give up easy.💖🐘
