    That leg cross is one of the cutest things ever, our babies working together, watch out for the gages from Zindogo Khanysia 🤣, Fishan has a great technique and great to see him using his healed foot, such patience with our lil Girl, with Bubi looking out for them, what a amazing family, someone doesn't realise how strong they are Kaiserie. I love each and everyone of these magnificent Ellies

    What interesting studies! Bubi did a good job on Zindoga. He seems a patient bull who has no problems having Khanyisa around, even when working with his whole body on a root. To see how Khanyisa studies Zindoga and later on Fishan with their work, was great joy. Thank you for this footage. And greetings to the HERD-Team.

    I love how Khanyisa watches her big brothers. She looks like she is growing so much than she stands next to Zindoga and she is itty bitty again 😂 and when she does the casual leg cross just proves she is our lil princess
    Let Zindoga know I have a stump in my backyard that needs to be taken out lol. It definitely would be a lot more fun to watch him remove it than some ugly machine do it.

    After all that hard work Zindoga 🐘 did not get the prize, and neither did Fishan 🐘. Klaserie 🐘 and Khaynisa 🐘 were very enthusiastic to see Adine. Nothing better than ending with Khaynisa 🐘 and her crossed legs. Thank you Adine.❤️🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘❤️

    I loved how the male Bulls are around Khanysia.❤️🥰🐘 It really and truly warms my heart that they want to be with her and watch over her too. They are excellent teachers for her too. Like when she was with Zindoga at first and was trying to get the limb out of the ground and then Zondoga left because he was giving up and left it for Khanysia to do. Then Fishon came around and he worked at it really good and also used the bad leg in a very good way too. I’m so pleased with Fishon that he is using his leg cause they can strengthen it for him too. All in all, it was an awesome video and there for a moment I thought Khanysia was leaving to go off to do her own thing like she usually does.😂😂🥰🐘 She is definitely carefree and she’ll do it her way and her way only.😂😂🐘❤️ Smart little girl she is and I think that as she gets older she will me much smarter which will be very good once she is out on her own roaming alone. Thanks again and God bless you and all the elephants too. I send you all love and blessings too. You all really and truly do rock!! The Carers are awesome too. Hugs, Sue M.(Florida, USA)❤️🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🙏🥰😘😘😘😘😘☺️😊❌⭕️❌⭕️

    Tonic for the soul indeed. The little leg cross is always cute, also when they stick their trunks in another elephant's mouth to see what's going on. So funny. Their trunks are such an amazing adaptation. Hard to think of another animal with such a versatile organ.

    That is so gentle of FishtheMan to put his trunk in Zindogo mouth. Then gently move the root while Braveheart gets very close to him and hangs out with him. I loved he used his injured leg, but to try and stand on 1 front leg that's injured maybe too much for him. Timisa, khaynisia and anyone who needs a guide or protection will go to FishtheMan. He's so wonderful.

    Awww, I felt bad for Zindoga. After all that hard work, he had to move over and let others gain the spoil😢 but I think it was nice for Fishan to receive it in that, he might not have been able to work as hard on the root, due to his left leg. So, that was good in that aspect of it. 🥰I love them all and love to see how the elephants work thru things. . interesting....💞💖💕

    What a wonderful teaching moment this was for Meisiekind. She was participating with Zindoga and when Fishan came and Zindoga let the two of them be with Bubi ever watchful, Khanyisa just watched each and every move attentively. I believe she knows now that the root has to come out completely and that requires skill, good trunk work, good footwork and agile tusk movements. What particularly made me happy was the confidence with which Meisiekind ambled right over to Zindoga and Fishan, and the cute little lovetap she gave Klaserie. Her confidence is growing each day!

    I thought Klaserie's left and right tusks were of different shape, as they look different if you can see the outer or inner side of the tusk, almost from any angle look like the other was rounder and the other has this knife-like flat side on the tip. But when she turns the head, I see they are similar after all. Anyway it's my ID of her, that the other tusk seems rounder and the other seems to have flat side.

    Oh, wow, Fishan put sand in his ear and used the roughness of the grains to scratch it and maybe to absorb moisture, too? I have slightly drainy ears and the moisture tickles, so that’s why I mention that. How would he know to use sand as a solution. I noticed after scratching he stuck the tip of his trunk in his mouth. Processing by the Jacobson organ? These elephants just cease to fascinate and amaze me. It’s such a delight to get to know them all, too.

    I have heard that elephants are gardeners, they turn the soil, the grazing stimulates new growth, and as I have said before, the amazing dung beetles, the sacred scarab beetle of ancient Egypt, no nutrient goes unused, returned to the earth, creating opportunities for birds and small creatures to find a tasty meal. One of the problems in the United States with domestic grazing animals is termed, 'close cropping' of vegetation, some to where the grasses and plants do not recover. The wild grazing mammals, deer, elk, buffalo, are sometimes termed 'high croppers' with stimulation of new growth. Unfortunately close cropping herds needs expanded grazing land. Worsening the situation the slaughter of wolves, long known to have negligible impact on herd animals, is an excuse to protect grazing herds. This makes HERD all the more of interest and fascinating that there are humans that are part of nature, not apart from nature. I would love to see green highways where animals can migrate, at least to some extent. Love Fishan, having some problems myself, yep, Fishan I am moving on albeit a little slower.

    Question so they r using the roots for nutrion but also source of water

    • @herdelephantorphanage
      @herdelephantorphanage  Год назад +9

      The roots mainly provide nutrition and roughage. Elephants will also use their tusks and feet to dig into the ground to find underground water

      Yes it must be roots are a big part of wild elephants diet(or in this case in human care)there’s a lot of nutrients to be found there.

    B4 these videos I didn't understand how any elephant could get enough food to survive. I had no idea the variety of foods they could eat or wanted to eat and how they got them.
