- Carer Owen and Adine share an update about and insight into Mambo and his recent antics. Not much later… Lundi and Mambo decide to throw a spanner in the works and add to their antics with a new adventure as Lundi chases after a nearby wild elephant herd. The herd runs from her and she follows after them, with Mambo deciding to follow after his mom, except they seem to go in opposite directions.
Some of our team follow after the two elephants on the run, tracking their footprints through the thick bush! The rest of the carers stay with the herd. Owen uses his bush skills to find Mambo easily but then it’s onto Lundi who is moving quickly after the wild herd. We see their fresh dung on the path and fresh elephant tracks.
Eventually we find Lundi close to the elephant homestead. Safe and sound. Tigere says that the wild elephants have recently been very spread out across the bush and have limited our herd’s grazing areas, causing a lot of run ins with the wild herd. Our rescued herd and the wild elephants try to avoid each other but if they come across each they they will often chase one another away.
Khanyisa and Tokwe give Adine a warm welcome after she and Owen had been running through the reserve for hours! Животные
Lundi going to tell those wild elephants off for trying to kidnap her boy Mambo lol 😁❤
😂😂😂
😂
My thoughts exactly 😂
Exactly. I think Mambo is that age where he is starting to learn about females😅
@@user-wr5cn6kw7j poor lad, soon realise how miserable life can be lol...only kidding ladies 😊🥰 your all beautiful ❤️
It’s a testament to the relationships that the carers have built with the herd that they are able to settle the elephants down and direct them back to the group. There’s no way to stop a running elephant or one that’s determined to go away-only the love and trust that has been built can guide them back. Thank you, kind carers!
Bless you, Adine!
It seems Mambo doesn´t fall far from the tree in the wander spirit, which prevails in the genes 🤣 Lundi and Mambo are an adorable handful, so sweet that Lundi knew that whenever lost she can always return to the safety of the homestead♥🐘
I was so curious about Lundi's thoughts when she was back and approaching Adine! 😊
🤣
Lundi wanted to rest. She didn't particularly want to go back to the bush. She can find her Herd, she doesn't need humans for that.
Massive round of applause for Owen's tracking skills. Not one but two elephants in different directions through a lush bush. 👏👏👏 I think Lundi is not ready for Mambo's independence as yet and is chasing away temptation. Feel a little sorry for the wild herd incurring Lundi's wrath. 🐘
👏
@Girl Gamer
I can hear the wild ellie herd of teenage girls now. RUN!! IT'S MAMBO'S MAMA !! Fastest female elephants in the bush.
I was thinking the same thing. She is trying to keep the wild herd away so Mambo will not be tempted to leave again. So smart.
On a le droit de s’échapper de temps en temps ?! 😊.
You have explained so well why Mambo can’t just be released to a wild herd. A lot of human interaction certainly changes things. It is sad that we live in a world where this usually results in an unfortunate ending. The experiences of Mambo and Lundi have certainly broadened our understanding of how complicated things are in your care and management of the herd!
Ben detto!
Thank you for understanding
Such elephants may not be afraid of people, and not all people are good. They are simply not aware of the dangers of not having human guardians and of their wilderness survival instincts. I don't know if you pay attention, but you can often see this herd wandering in the wild, but behind them, you can see high-voltage power lines, this is a modern civilization that man is tearing up from nature.
Adine you and your staff knows what's bet for Mambo. " Keep him with the family"😀
Ben detto!
Bravo Owen 👍
It’s never a dull moment with this beautiful family. Thank you for sharing this important information about how you track your elephants.
That certainly wasn't your ordinary day. Lundi and Mambo are quite the duo with that 'wandering' gene - only Lundi has to teach Mambo the way home. Thanks for sharing this adventure.
It never is here!
Go Owen Go! 🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘
I had to laugh when you were explaining about Mambo and then he and his mother go off on a little trip.. I love how things are explained in such a way that it is easily understood. Many thanks for making learning enjoyable.
Lundi is such a caring and protective mom~👍
Thank you for sharing this video~🤗
How absolutely brilliant of Lundi to have returned to her homestead! This shows how smart she is. Adine, Owen and Carers, you all did a wonderful tracking job. I can just imagine how difficult that task must be with all the overgrowth in the reserve. Seeing M. Mambo so peaceful at the beginning of the video, calmly munching next to Meisiekind, Tokwe and his mom was heartening. I love that M. Mambo is back with his family. I'm hoping that with continued love, support and affirmation from the members of his HERD--he will grow out of that normal teenage jol phase. Elephants never ever forget, but they certainly do forgive and move on! Thanks for a super video!
Amazing Team!!! The elephants are so lucky to have you all!!!❤❤❤
Just amazing how huge Elephants are and how difficult it is to see them in the bush until you are almost right in front of them..
She was like don't distract my son and cause him to leave home! 😂❤🐘
Lundi near the homestead: “Adine, were you lost? I chased off those wild elephants and came back here. More marulas please”
😂😂😂
Wow, what a workout!!! Great job HERD!
Mambo, the kid, lost for days. Lundi, the adult, heads on back home. Love it.
One thing, you all definitely get your exercise. I'm so glad you found Mambo and Lundi came home on her own.
Baby K ...as cute as ever.
❤️🐘❤️🐘❤️🐘❤️🐘
👍💯😊🥰🌹
Never a dull moment with these babies!
NEVER
👍
I'm glad Mambo is behaving ❤
WOW! Owen is an amazing TRACKER!
Thank you Owen!
Thank you Adine!!!
🙏💜🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘💜🙏
The way mambo stands behind mom n quietly grazing like a cute son...lovely
Hi Adine and Owen, and all of the Herd, it's obvious as with humans you have to have a risk assessment, everyone's safety is involved, thank you for sharing this information with us, much love to all our Elephant and human family 🐘🐘🐘🐘
Lundi knows where her homestead is. 😊
Thanks very much Adine 🌹 and formidable careers 🍀👍
They're amazing.🌍💪🐘❤️
Amazing job finding Lundi and Mambo.
💯❤️🐘🐘
Well done to Owen and the other carers tracking skills! Thats a mad mama chasing away her son's new girlfriends. She smelled the perfume. Thats an embarrassed and worried son running for cover. We can only wait to see what Khanyisa has learned from her adopted mom Lundi. Exercise and adventure for all. Thank you for taking us along. In some respects, their family is just like our human families. Chase off those who come to lure our kids away.
Love your comment 😄💕 SO true too🥰
Once upon a time there was this herd of elephants, but within the herd was an adventurer.........and then they all lived happily ever after.
Thank you for understanding Mambo and the complicated social issues that surround the herd. I trust the Carers and Adine to know what is best for all the elephants. Adine, you must get some boots for running through the bush! 🥾🥾
I love Mambo’s wild spirit and that is what a bull does. I am glad you are keeping track of him for his safety. I would hate for something to happen to him. Thank you caregivers for keeping him and the herd safe❤
Qui a Herd sono tutti una bella squadra compatta saggia e la cara Adine guida con autorevolezza e competenza il branco e i carers, complimenti a tutti!
You are the experts. Thank you for explaining and updating. Keep up the great efforts. Mambo is right where he should be.
Thanks for all
The care, attention
And responsibility
You show to these critters
Adine, thanks so much for addressing the comments about just allowing Mambo to go off and join a wild herd. I have wondered about his state of mind but never doubted that letting him go is a much more complicated issue than most of us realize. I didn’t know that your area is dense with tourism and that Mambo’s familiarity with humans could prove dangerous for him, the wild herd, and the people nearby. The release and reintegration of wild animals must be carefully managed, as you wisely say. I am in awe of the team’s ability to wrangle such massive animals and of Owen’s tracking skills! Lundi certainly gave you all a workout before wandering back home after her adventure. It was thrilling to accompany you! My gratitude, respect, and best wishes to you all.
Well said!😊
Agreed. I was one who initially asked the question. Folks gave me a great answer, but not everyone reads the comments. This video explanation was fantastic.
Now we know where Mambo gets his wunderlust from.
That was well said 👏
God bless you all
And a of the elephants.
The wild elephants RUN after seeing Mambos Mama!!
These beautiful elephants make my mornings. I always watch these videos at least twice.
Adine, you must have wished you had boots on for this pursuit! Owen and all the carers are such amazing trackers as their jobs require; bless you all! 🧡🥰🧡
Oh my sakes! All that tracking through the bush and here she is at home! Who would ever have thought! --LOL That was a wild "elephant" ("goose") chase! So glad everyone is back toghether!
She had a serious sense of humour that day, ol Lundi 😅
its like mother like son with Lundi and Mambo
Thank You for sharing the updates! Adine and awesome carers! Amazing Family!🐘🐘💚 Blessed Spring!🌞🌷🪻🐾🌍
Thank goodness naughty handsome Mambo is safe and back with his human family and the rest of the herd ❤🥰😘
Lund is an independent free spirited girl for sure!!❤
Wow, what a day again 😳! My heart pounding, when Adine and Owen looking for Lundi and Mambo. Poor Lundi, looking tired after the trip ❤. Adine, Oven and all the carers you are amazing in 💕Herd care. God Bless ❤.
May God bless each of you!! The elephants are such great general giants. Adine chasing and going with the carer shows how much she loves each one of these creatures made by God. THANKS TO EACH ONE THAT CARES FOR THEM!!!
My goodness. So glad everything turned out fine. Take care and love you all
How exciting! Thanks for including us! What an adventure Lundi took us on. I'm so happy everything is back to normal ❤🐘💓❣️🥰
Thanks for the update and the explanation. Mambo is too cute 🎉 lovely naughty boy. Hopefully his integration into the semi wild will be a good next step. 🎉
Just like when the boys come calling and your dad sees them off 😂😂. Well done Lundi for going home to wait for your herd to come back.
Giusto cara Alyson
Ja he's definitely his mother's son. Phew I need water after that trek. She's afraid that they will take him away from her. Aaaaah the delights of being a mother. Shame guys you can't really blame her. Four days was a long time. I did laugh when Adine said that Tokwe had had words with Mambo. Great job everyone. Never a dull moment ❤❤❤❤❤
Tx goodness you found both Lundi & Mambo. Lundi seemed a bit rattled, poor thing. Great tracking- so happy everyone is safe❤
That was a true adventure! So many thanks that we where alowed to participate! With this kind of workout nobody needs a gym. THATs why all those carers look so well trained! 😉😁 Congrats to Adine too! 😉👍
😁😁😁
Like Mother, like son 😂 as you put it so well at the end of the video. Both of them show such independent streaks and its cheeky that Mambo tries to take the opportunity to have another adventure when Lundi rushes after the wild herd 😅 Its also sweet how she waits at the homestead when she must have smelled it and got tired of chasing after the wild elephants. Its her safe haven!
She know where her home is..remember: an elephant never forgets!😂
Glad to see Mambo back home safe where he belongs.❤
Uh oh! Lundi and Mambo, partners in crime. 😄❤️❤️❤️🇨🇦
Bless all for following tracks for hours interesting how she went back to the homestead to meet up. Never a dull moment ❤
Mambo is a stud and can’t help he’s such a handsome guy. Lover boy. ❤❤❤❤
First, God bless you Adine. Mambo 🐘 comes by it naturally. Like mother like son. That took you all quite a while to find both of them. Lundi 🐘 felt like she had to protect her family ❤. I am So glad they were found. These carers are so awesome with their tracking skills. 👏👏 Bravo. I am happy that the Jabulani HERD were back together again.❤️🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘
Ben detto cara Dorothy!☺️
Thanks for the explanation.. Being a "problem elephant" to those unfamiliar with Mambo would be bad. Lundi showed that she is definitely part of her herd. Elephants and humans.
Lundi was chasing off the wild elephants tempting Mambo! I love the Jabulani family of humans and elephants!
Hey,😊 ~ that's so interesting consider. The material instinct in elephant size is next level.
I mentioned the same idea that you shared. I asked my mom if it was ok to make a comment. Your comment is similar to mine. I think we both love elephants!
@@kewl851 (thank your mother for letting you comment) I think Lundi wants to make sure those wild elephants leave her baby boy alone! And, yes, we both love elephants. I have very much enjoyed these Mambo episodes - especially when he woke up! So glad Carer Shepherd got that footage!
@@mortalclown3812 hi! She is trying to keep him her “little baby” don’t you think?
@@terryheatwole6153 we agree with you!!!!
Mambo was a bit of a naughty boy💞
Fantastic day in the bush❤. HERD takes us all into the bush and tracks elephants.
Fascinating!
When I noticed the carer wearing rubber boots vs supportive bush boots … it made we wonder about why?
I’m a huge supporter of HERD.
The gumboots are great for rainy days and lots of water 💦 thank you always for your amazing support
Naughty Lundi ❤️🐘
OMGSH!!! THAT was rather unnerving! I was very scared for Lundi, Mambo and all the carer's and Adine. God only knows what could have been out there on their journey to retrieve Lundi and Mambo. I'm so thankful for their wise tracking abilities too. My personal feeling is that Lundi wanted to chase off the wild herd so her son wouldn't get distracted by them again. Smart that she headed home and stayed there waiting for everyone else. Glad Mambo was retrieved too, ugh! I can breathe again 😯😕🥺💕🥰
Boy howdy, I am exhausted just watching the chase between Lundi, Mambo, and the carers, I'm sitting in the comfort of my home, and I'm breathing fast lol...I also feel like I've gotten alot of exercise this morning chasing after these beautiful gentle giants...I can imagine how tried you all are God bless you all for all that you do to bring us viewers the beautiful videos 📹 Thank You very much...I gotta rest...lol
Thank you for the update ❤, Adine and Owen .
Thanks so much for the background and information on why you want Mambo to remain with your herd. Makes a great deal of sense. Look forward to hearing of your future plans for rewilding any of the herd if you are able to get to that stage. You do a wonderful job.
Thank you Owen and Adine for the update and explanation. Hear you sneezing Adine. Hopefully you didn’t get sick while here in the USA. Hope you feel better.
That was an exciting adventure….especially for the human HERD… and of course it was the Mambo branch of the family… this time the mom and son escape. Lundi knew to come back, but Mambo was headed in a different direction..good thing the trackers were close behind! Everyone sure gets a workout at the HERD….Mambo was probably following Lundi… unless Mambo saw the wild elephants and made a mad dash escape… followed by Lundi who was trying to chase her bad boy down!
Luckily, everything settled down.♥️♥️🐘🐘
What a day you had! The apple sure didn't fall far from the tree in this case! I'm impressed and not surprised, that every decision about the herd is made with extraordinary care. Equally, I'm amazed at your strength and stamina in personally undertaking the Lundi/Mambo chase! Thank you for sharing this remarkable story. And truly, good luck with mother and son😂❤❤❤
Hi khanisa ❤️ hi all of you. Thanks very much for all your help and support for all these precious lives ❤️ Yes keep the family together 😊💖
Love the HERD Team. Thank you all. Maybe Mambo wanted to meet a young lady...lol
Oh my God, that was like Indiana Jones! lots of insights from Owen. I had the feeling that Mambo wasn't all too happy when he was found again, the way he threw his head. Lundi sure knows where home is, but she seemed nervous and unsettled. After all of this, the rest of the herd was just feeding away peacefully, like nothing happened 😆. I am glad that Lundi and Mambo are back with their family again but that was surely nerve racking for all of you.
God bless Adine & Owen for giving chase because they care so much for the ellies in their wonderful care.
Mambo you can't be a trouble elephant and have your freedom. Behave! Mambo I hope you listened to everything Adine was saying about you. Lundin, how could you! Thank you to everyone at HERD all they do.
Thank you to all the carers who helped with tracking.
Hai detto bene!
Mambo is a family member of the Herd. That would be heartbreaking to not know he's okay. And the reaction of the Herd when he was back made me cry - it was beautiful 💜 💜
Lundi was taking no chances in letting another herd spirit off Mambo The Brave again. She was going to make sure she cleared them off! 😂❤
Just another day in the life of the Elephants who live in THE HERD.
Elephantopia needs a little drama and excitement.
I’m really glad that little pinky is still too small to keep up with Lundi when she chases wild elephants.
Buenos días família linda.
Yikes mambo, in every family there is one who keeps things interesting. Bless u for finding him AGAIN.
Lundy was giving the Wild herd a piece of her mind that’s what she was thinking - she was saying “you keep away from my baby boy Mambo & our baby girl Khanyisa or else!!! “
I could literally see Lundy asking Adine to please understand and that she didn’t mean to give everyone a scare & most importantly please let Owen and the team know that she didn’t trick them on purpose by going in circles.
💚👍
Maybe mama Lundi was removing the temptation for mischievous Mambo to go trunkabout by chasing away the wild herd? 🤔🐘🐘🐘
WooHoo!!! 😂😂😂
Ellies on SPRING BREAK!!!🎊😊🎉
🙏💜🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘💜🙏
Poor Lundi ❤️ She still seemed nervous about the wild elephants when you caught up to her
Good thing Adine was there to calm her down
Also can we appreciate Owens tracking skills?
She was nervous, rather upset because the carers followed her. As far as she's concerned she was doing her free will elephant thing, and was upset to be followed
😍
It's amazing how dedicated Adine and the carers are to our Herd of Eles. They each need a good pair of supportive running shoes...LOL!
I feel so fortunate to have this up-close opportunity to see day-to-day life of elephants. It is like a Masterclass on Elephants. Thank you.
Owen is a Master Tracker!!😀
Well, I've learned a little something this morning about tracking! ;o) I can only imagine seeing Miss Lundi back at the homestead after all of that walking and running around looking for her. ;o/ It's never dull.
Mai mai noioso!
What a busy day the herd has had today. It’s like trying to corral puppies only on a much bigger scale 🐘🐘🐘
Never a dull moment.
I'm so glad they're all back safe with each other!!
What an amazing day. 😮 Everyone at Herd is devoted to their family and their welfare, and will never give up looking for the lost lamb. And planning the best future for each one of them too. Who knows best but those who understand and love and care for them so patiently, as well as the environment in which they must survive? So many factors to consider and hazards to beware of. I must say thank you everyone at Herd. How grateful I am that the welfare of these beautiful creatures is in such good and steady hands. Much love to Jabulani. 💖💖💖🐘💖💖💖🤗
Maybe Mama was showing Mambo that the wild ellies aren’t potential friends to be joined up with.
hi, Carer Owen!!! Hi, Adine! Thank yall for the update on Mambo. love yall!
May be Lundi wants to make sure the wild herd dont come close to their teritory bcz her son Mombo got lost last time following them..
Living in the US I knew nothing about anything in Africa. During lockdown I found HERD and I found WildEarth TV live safaris. I have learned so much about South Africa and Greater Kruger Park through both channels. I understand exactly where you are coming from Adine. And who better to know how to manage elephants than the very people who work with them! Mambo is so much safer in your care and hopefully he will outgrown his wanderlust! I guess in his mind he thinks all elephants have the same mindset as his Jabulani herd. I do get a kick out of how naughty Mambo is compared to Zindoga, though! :))
😂he is naughty! but thank you for following our journey!
Tra Mambo e Zindoga preferisco Zindoga, Mambo è troppo ribelle e per niente carino con le piccine e con il resto degli elephants.
@@vivianaiacomelli3080 😂😂😂
@@zamzamahmed8139 😂😂🤣🤣e con Mambo ci aggiungo Pisa per la sua gelosia ( poverina)
adhd mambo It reminds me of my son he was a roamer. He is no longer with me . The love for your child is unmeasurable
🙏❤️
I’m so glad you brought Mambo back, people don’t know he’s not a wild elephant and he could create conflict with people and end up being killed by humans . He is not afraid of people but people are afraid of him not knowing he’s tame. He can’t be just let to leave with wild elephants because he will try to take wild elephants around humans not knowing he’s doing anything wrong. I love all the elephants of the Herd and don’t want any harmed. And his mother has not been without him and she may get sick because of his sudden disappearance.
With lunde running away,Adine needs a "DRONE".
