The Wild Lately 🐘 New Elephant & Wildlife Sightings in our Reserve!

- We wanted to show you something a little different today… check in with the elephants, as well as a few other animals we share our wilderness home with! Including giraffe, zebra, buffalo and impala! Go on a walk with the carers, a drive with Adine and a fly-by with the Carer-Mobile as the bakkie moves across the dirt paths ferrying our carers to where they need to be!
Our 16 000 ha reserve is home to a variety of wildlife, giving the herd in our care exposure to wild elephants, the big 5, big cats, birdlife and a range of antelope and other species. During their daily walks, they encounter many of these animals.
When the herd from Zimbabwe first arrived in our reserve in 2002 after being rescued, they had never encountered many of these wild animals before and so it took some getting used to! They didn’t know what a zebra was! Today, they live much wilder lives, experiencing the African bush and its beautiful inhabitants at every turn!

Amazing seeing your beautiful neighbors. I love them all...most of us can only dream about seeing such beautiful wildlife. It just makes my heart sing knowing they have land where they can live their lives without fear of humans.

I love to see and meet the carers, with the elephants they provide a perspective in a landscape that is untamed by the intrusive, noisy, distracting technologies, walking in towns and cities with most people literally plugged in.

This was a really cool video to get to see probably not even touching the surface of just how many wild animals are in the Reseve but, it was so awesome and I do thank you and your Carers for taking us all along with you.🥰❤️. It was the coolest thing to get to see the Herd all lined up and come home back to home.🥰❤️🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘 It is really awesome to see just how wonderful and good the elephants walk with their Carers and right behind each other and never cause a ruckus too. I just love seeing the elephants and it was also so nice to see the Giraffes,Zebras and the young one, also the Impala’s too. I have to say that I’m so jealous of you all being able to amongst all of the wild and gorgeous animals and even everyone’s favorite, the Herd.🥰❤️🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘 They are just so precious and very important to us all. Ending with that beautiful African sunset, the impala baby nursing and seeing the line of elephants returning to the homestead was so calming and peaceful. Bless you Adine and all of your amazing carers!
Well, I will say it once more. Africa is so full of beautiful wildlife and beautiful people. I hope the African people realize what they have. To me, personally, this is heaven on earth. I completely love this channel.
Now I know it must seem weird to some that I show so much love to this channel. However, I am alone with Noone, and this channel helps me ALOT! Babys everywhere! Giraffe baby Zebra baby Impala baby! I was so excited the other day when I saw my first possum in real life in my backyard. Pales in comparison lol. I know Giraffe spots are like fingerprints unique to that Giraffe. Are Zebras the same way? Are their stripes unique to that Zebra? That buffalo was pure muscle what a beast.
Congrats on your first opossum sighting! It is good to have them around for tick control. 🙂

Would the herd come home by themselves if the caregivers were not there or would they tend to just keep wandering. We know Mambo probably would, but would they all?

Kumbura is such a wonderful member of the HERD. She just adores Khanyisa, and more so when she has her all to herself. I can't get over all the beautiful wildlife you are fortunate to live amongst. The reserve is teeming life. And nothing much phases our Meisiekind when she's munching!🤗🐘

A very special clip. I like that Pisa, Lundi and Mambo have the freedom to run a little wild when the spirit moves them. It's horrifically expensive and a lot of trouble, but so enriching to be able to stretch oneself. Sunset gracing your plains was so beautiful. Thank you, Adine and Carers!❤❤❤❤❤❤

Adine, That reserve is full of a large variety of African wildlife.
You drive into work and see animals that most of us PAY TO SEE at a zoo.
Here in Seattle, Washington, where I live, it can cost each individual adult $27 USD.
Parking fees are $12-$20 USD.
You have to buy overly expensive zoo food.
A day at the zoo will cost mom and the kids well over $100 USD.
I think that showing more of this variety that you have in the reserve and attracting some sponsors is probably going to get more help for THE HERD.
Here in the US, we are plunging into what is probably going to be a long and very difficult economic recession.
I wanted to donate on this latest opportunity to help out.
But the shipping business is getting very lean lately.
I agree with you TheErik. Us in the US are in for a big change as it is heading that way fast. Americans are being pushed to be self sufficient and not rely on anything. If my house hadn't burned down on Feb 3rd, I would have a big garden full of food. But with having it bulldozed down this past Monday, I can't have a garden this year. Nature is a beautiful thing and Africa has so much beauty!!

I believe the beautifully marked "creepy crawly" is the caterpillar of the vine hawk moth. The fake eyes and fake sting-in-the-tail are defence mechanisms to scare off would-be predators. Thank you, Adine, for a glimpse of the other reserve residents - both great and small.
