Happy, Happy Birthday to Mrs. Adine Roode, the Mother of Elephants. A true heroine. Thank you to you and to the rest of HERD for your incredible awe-inspiring work with Khanyisa and the Jabulani herd.
I really appreciate the captions identifying who is who and what's happening, thank you so much. I use hearing aids but they don't catch everything and my eyesight isn't great either, which makes the clear printed word a gift indeed. It's nice too just to hear the quietness of the elephants as they move through their environment so softly. I'm grateful every day that I'm privileged to share part of the day with them. Thank you Adine and every carer at Herd. 💖🐘💖🤗
What a beautiful morning. So little Khaniysa is going to be moving to the homestead? Do you really think she is going to sleep or is she going to have a 'slumber party' with Timisa and Pisa? I think the whole herd will be sluggish for a couple of days. Lol!

Hello Adine, and all Herd carers. I am so thankful thru RUclips videos you make at Herd. When I was a child I went to a zoo called the Franklin Park zoo in Boston Ma. And went into the Elephant house. And there I saw these beautiful magnificent Elephants with a chain around a ankle so they could not move. Outside of the Elephant Stone House the park carers had a baby Elephant so Us kids were allowed to pay the baby, it's hairs felt like bristles in a brush. But after going into the Elephant house and seeing the adult s with a chain around an ankle. I lost interest in going to the zoo . But, since seeing your RUclips Channel Adine, I can see these beautiful and majestic Elephants in a natural setting with Herd Elephant Orphanage in South Africa. I'm learning much from you on how much your organization is doing to help the Elephants survive and thrive. I've seen other RUclips videos from others involved in caring for Elephants, but your Herd organization is the best. The Jabulani Herd is healthy, happy and safe. You also Educate all of us who watch your videos Adine. The next generation of people coming along will make a difference like you are doing now in the future of the Elephants. Who deserve to continue to survive now, and in future. The Elephants are key to the overall ecology of a balanced landscape. God Bless all of you.
The sunrise is one of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen. Simply stunning ❤ Wonder if Khanyisa will want back to her 'own' pad when she is moved 🤔😁🏴
What a beautiful sunrise you were having. So beautiful and peaceful too.😊❤️ also, what a joy to see our sweet and precious young girl (who is growing up so nice). Khanyisa.😊❤️🐘 It is also a joy to see Timisa with our sweet girl and the mothers too.🥰❤️🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘. It still amazes me how the wild Rhinos can be right there and the girls don’t think nothing of it but however, the moms are definitely right there with the girls and I’m sure if something bad were to happen then they were there to protect the youngsters. Also, I’m sure the other older male elephants would be there if needed.🥰👍🐘 I was looking forward to see more of the waterhole but, maybe if possible we can see more of the waterhole moments? Thanks again and I do hope that when our sweet Khanyisa moved to me with the Herd that she will be fine. If a young elephant is with the herd during the nights for the first nights, do they get scared and make noises? God bless you and the Carers and all the sweet , loving and wonderful elephants too. I have a question regarding mating. Do elephants mate for life and if not, does the male impose his wish over the females, or does the female have a matter in the event. Once they mate and there is a baby elephant, does the male participate in the rearing of the baby, or is it all the responsibility of the mother and her other female helpers. Also, do the males mate with members of their own families; say uncles and nieces? and at what age are the young ones considered by their adults old enough to venture on their own. Beautiful peaceful walk. I noticed that before the elephants got to the waterhole, one of the elephants was already wet. It brought to mind the question if elephants do sweat. Your Heard is absolutely beautiful; how I wish I could visit! Thank you for all you do for these majestic creatures. By the way, what was the outcome of the study done where one particular elephant participated in. It was most interesting how the chosen elephant got to his basket of goodies when proceeding with the test. It seems to me there's reasoning, real thinking in their actions. I wish I had understood the accent of the woman lead in this study; I had a hard time getting through her accent. I look forward to a reply whether from the subscribers if they know, or from the members of Heard. Thank you in advance.
Unfortunately elephants do not mate for life 🐘 when it comes to caring for the new ray of sunshine, it is all the mothers responsibility to raise the new calf. The bull will normally leave after mating and they may mate with multiple different elephants. Elephants do not sweat which is why they need to keep cool by bathing in cool mud and swimming 🏊♂ We do plan on releasing and sharing more information on the study we did with Elephants Alive and Somopane soon 🙏 Thank you for all your questions 🥰💕

This is beautiful and the colours are awesome is it nearly spring? Live to you all and thank you for pointing out the names of the elephants. I looked up some of the elephants names and Jabulani means rejoice! Jabu rejoice. Limpopo sebakwe are places and rivers khanyisa means shine bright , how wonderful. Mambo is a river I think
I actually expect that the first night Khanyisa spends in the Homestead is going to be a very sleepless one for almost everyone. Khanyisa us a bright little thing and she will not see this as losing her nursery but getting to be with her adoptive family. I have also seen those exorbitant times when she finally gets what she has yearned for but you did not know how much until she was actually allowed I fully expect the first night to be a great deal more like a 5 year olds sleepover party and not at all boring to anyone at all. I suspect, at first, the adults will be happy for the status change which should signify to them that now they are the primary caregivers, full time security, full time teachers and for them the first night will be fully of organizing who has the overnight care, seeing that Khanyisa is happily settled down and taking some serious and caring patental rules. But I suspect thst Khanyisa will want to explore, check out all she is allowed to and socialize and play as long as she can stay awake. I don't doubt that the next day will fund a herd a hit slower to get up and going about heading out if the homestead due to less undisturbed sleep with Khanyisa in the homesteadbforvthe first night.
What a peacefull moments to see, just long enough for me tot take a break. It still amazes me, hoe huge our little prinsess is with her carers and then the perspective change and suddenly she is a little one again. I was wondering with the nursery empty soon, will there be room for an other orphan?
We will always be ready for any ellies that are needing intense help and care 💖 For now, we can only be grateful that no elephant is seriously injured and needing help
I've been catching videos out of order and was hoping that dear German Shepherd pup I saw before is fine...and that it's ok I'm asking. Much love to everyone at HERD. Will donate again soon. ♡♡♡♡♡

That’s a glorious sunrise wow what a joy to see that each morning. Yes I truly enjoy your comments too. Glad Khanyisa felt totally calm with Rhinos there 😊
Just curious (maybe it was explain before and I missed) What kind of supervision Khanyisa will have once she moves into the Homestead? Would there be a carer watching her the first nights on her new home? I'm not complaining. I know the HERD staff know what they're doing and it always have been the elephants well being their first concern
Just we will have carers watching Khanyisa making sure that her transition is smooth 💕 We are hoping the transition is smooth as she has been going out into the wild with the rest of the herd for a while now

Going to the water hole I noticed one of what appeared to be a bull on the left flank guarding that approach.
We are in the middle of spring however with this heat, we might as well say we have entered summer 🥵
I actually expect that the first night Khanyisa spends in the Homestead is going to be a very sleepless one for almost everyone. Khanyisa us a bright little thing and she will not see this as losing her nursery but getting to be with her adoptive family. I have also seen those exorbitant times when she finally gets what she has yearned for but you did not know how much until she was actually allowed
I fully expect the first night to be a great deal more like a 5 year olds sleepover party and not at all boring to anyone at all.
Kinshia looks so small next to the bigger ones. She lookes
bigger by herself.
That beautiful African sunrise and sunset OMG
What a peaceful life is! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks!
Tranquil
I've been catching videos out of order and was hoping that dear German Shepherd pup I saw before is fine...and that it's ok I'm asking.
Much love to everyone at HERD. Will donate again soon. ♡♡♡♡♡
Ahh Nandi! Nandi is Adine's dog and she is doing wonderfully 💖 She normally accompanies Adine to the reserve
I wonder if Khanyisa or Tamisa could recognize their original Herd?
I live in California and have always been a relatively short distance from the ocean. I am addicted to sunsets and occasionally Sunrises. You managed to have some of the most beautiful sunrises I have ever seen and I always appreciate it. Meanwhile... I love that Setombe just moved that tree to have some snacks!!😄😘👍
That’s a glorious sunrise wow what a joy to see that each morning. Yes I truly enjoy your comments too. Glad Khanyisa felt totally calm with Rhinos there 😊
Loved it, thanks!
They are all so lovely! Does this area of Africa have a sort of rainy season or a month, every thing looks so dry!
We get a lot of our rain in summer however we do have random occasional rains in our other seasons 🌦
💛🧡♥🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘♥🧡💛...🥰
Elephants:-Rhinos can be mean but we are bigger than them.
Will she continue to wear her blanket when she goes to live with the herd at night?
It is getting quite warm here so she will no longer be needing her blankie 🌞
Do you ever go with the herd to that nearby river which Adine has mentioned couple of times?
Yes we do!
Maybe Khanyisa will miss the nurseries with Lammie and Nungu?
How old is Fishan?
He was born in 1989 🌞 so he is 33, the same as Lundi
Bom dia para todos .
cada dia ela fica bela.
I wonder what Khanyisa would think of a piece of liquorice root?
They all must hear her truck drive up and get excited!
Pocha🐘passed away days ago in the sanctuary in Brasil...she was free only few months 😢💔...very sad..whole life ( 50 years) in a zoo....😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Wow! Stunning footage ❤
MIRROR, MIRROR ON THE "WATER"🪞💦💚🐘GORGEOUS ELLIES ×2👏👍💯👑 Doesn't get MUCH BETTER THAN THAT❣️🥰 LIEBE SEHR + GOD BLESS💚🐘👱♀️👨🌾👩🌾🐑🐶💞🙏
