I have been waiting for this video Happy 5th Birthday to our Sunshine Warrior Princess,sweet potato monster Survivor!! Khanyisa’s come such a long way from the fragile horrifically wounded calf we first saw & her wounds shattered hearts around the world,we didn’t know if she’d survive but not only did she survive she took everything in stride. Braveheart’s taught us all what true courage,strength and hope are all about and though she still has a few physical scars she wears them as a reminder of her battle and that is what makes a true warrior. Watching Miesiekind grow up has absolutely been a journey of joy a few heart stopping moment and SO much love I feel proud of her in the way a big sister would (yes I’m tearing up watching this)the support from her family especially dear mama Lundi,Bubi,Jabu and Kumbura has helped shape Khanyisa into the confident,playful happy girl we all adore her story has touched millions of lives and hearts we love you Miesiekind here’s to many more adventures and birthdays!!🩷👑🐘🩶🥳🍠

How she defied all impossibilities of survival is still a marvel for me, but the love and support she received from her human and ellie herd certainly gave her the will to live. I have such sweet memories of the years, and a deep gratitude that Khanyisa has such a lively spirit and survived, because of her own determination but also because of the love and devotion she has received from her human mother Adine and the Herd carers, and the members of the Herd who watched over her and taught her how to be an elephant. What a beautiful success story that I'm so happy to have been able to watch and share. One of the images that has stayed with me was that of the adults making an outward facing circle with tiny Khanyisa inside their corral. Love and protection always there for her, from the beginning. I have such sweet memories of the years, and a deep gratitude that Khanyisa has such a lively spirit and survived, because of her own determination but also because of the love and devotion she has received from her human mother Adine and the Herd carers, and the members of the Herd who watched over her and taught her how to be an elephant. What a beautiful success story that I'm so happy to have been able to watch and share. One of the images that has stayed with me was that of the adults making an outward facing circle with tiny Khanyisa inside their corral. Love and protection always there for her, from the beginning. The Herd is a unique and wonderful family. I love them. 🤗 Happy birthday little lady. 💖💖💖🐘💞💞💞
