I have been in chaos since a child. Trauma abuse left me with many many anxiety symptoms. Pain included but many many more. Been listening to you for a few months now. I said it before I say it again I prayed and I believe God directed me to you. I’m trying to not freak out and tell myself safety. Currently have a virus and feel rough but telling myself do not freak out!
Your videos are just amazing x

We've all been programmed to believe that feeling "happy" is the only emotion acceptable and when it doesn't materialize for most of your "living" we feel like we've failed. We need to accept that sadness, disappointment, anger , anxiety etc are all part and parcel of life and not a failing.
Had PTSD after an assault, EMDR has changed my reaction to the recollection. It's like it's put the "memory" into the right filing cabinet. Never thought that something so simple could reach into my brain. Basically gave me emotional strength (albeit with lots of tears)to know that I am now safe. Our brains are phenomenal, and even though we sometimes feel so confused by the signals it sends out, we have to believe that ultimately we can calm the sensations and go live a life.

I definitely fall into this trap when symptoms and anxiety are high. Its hard to trust that what I'm doing is enough and that there's nothing to change or "figure out". Thanks for this video, Dan.

I think I also put a lot of pressure on myself when it comes to the healing journey. It’s been hard changing that mindset to a more positive compassionate thought. There’s that fear that when symptoms get higher I must be doing something wrong which only adds to the pressure.

    A friend sent me this.
THE way to get over things you hate-whether it's fear, sensations, thoughts, feelings is-
Notice them, nod/allow them and get back to life.
It's really that simple. The disorder is when you dive in, hold on to it, try to control everything & add MORE fear, add more energy, more focus, more time, it's when you face IT(the very thing you hate)-instead of life & by doing these things you're giving stuff unneeded and untrue meaning. Staying locked in, when you just look THROUGH things and not get stuck IN them.

Panic almost seems involuntary for me.
When I reinjured my back. So tough to tell yourself I’m not in danger.
I believe what you’re saying is the answer though.

Oh my God Dan, you are cracking me up, "I was in pain before the internet." lol Yeah, I am 54 so totally am glad google did not exist in the 90s since I had bad health anxiety then. Relatively speaking the internet has not been rapid for THAT long. People in there 20s think it has been here forever since it was for at least half of their life though lol I have learned to not google now either though unless it is for a recipe or something fun lol

what a joy to listen to you Dan....calm with pure logic ....
suddenly swelled and couldn't walk on my foot; could not lift heel without enormous pain; absolutely no injury; swelling now reduced; is this not most difficult part, the feet, to believe there is nothing structurally wrong......ps thanks for such upliftment you give out💖🙏🎶🙏💖

Soooo on point with this one!! What I’ve found is anything that scares me is NOT the answer, and all the science scares me. The schubiner stuff about brain pathways and creating new ones, I mean what? Our brains can heal themselves once we stop freaking out period.

I really belive it’s both repressed emotion is what causes it fearing stuff or anger or hurt or unappreciation etc and u get pain but it becomes TMS when it’s perceived danger it becomes chronic. Yes not focusing on it just feel safe today❤

7:11 I’m so glad you have this position. I hate journaling, going into the past. I’m already trying to say I’m not where I was with the last surgery or the aftermath. I am safe today
    I was so angry yesterday
You’ve helped me so much. I realize I’m working to hard and focusing on this too much
Yes! I’m getting better every day!

I think this is so hard. For a year I have been trying to convince myself that I am safe and the hornonal inbalance I experience that is causing so many symptoms is here becsuse of my dysregulated nervous system and living in fight or flight for so long. But still there is no change. I can feel fantastisk and then I habe s hornonal shift and I am backen on square one again. So I guess I still not believe the message I am trying to tell myself.
