Picking Up the Royal Enfield Classic 350

  • The day finally arrived; I headed off to Kmoto in Vilnius, Lithuania, to pick up a Royal Enfield Classic 350.
    This also gave me a great opportunity to have a look around Kmoto and see what Lithuanian motorcycle dealerships are like.
    The Royal Enfield Scram 411, Royal Enfield Himalayan, Interceptor and Continental GT 650 were all there. The Continental GT 650 had been bored out to 865cc and produced 70+hp (very interesting, as it's the first time I've seen one of these bored out).

      Royal Enfield go from strength to strength...well done them! I love the scram and himmy, just wish they had a 650 (single cylinder) version. As that interceptor had been "sorted" I wonder if performance parts are available for the 350 and 411? Dare say they are restricted from the factory, just need exhaust, air filter and a remap to give it a few more horses, or is there more to it? regards Mick

    Not many left now
    I like the huge amount of bikes & stock that the dealership had
    Makes the whole experience very transparent
    Here in the UK we are not always able to view, try clothing on, sit on the bike as there not in stock

The bike performed faultlessly and while not fast can run comfortably at 70mph if necessary. Superb bike. Hasn’t used a drop of oil in 2600 miles. It really benefits from proper running in, the motor frees up nicely and the brakes definitely sharpen up. Beautifully made as well.

    I'm generally not a fan of the retros. "neither fish nor fowl" but I must admit RE nailed this one.(I don't care for any of their other retro's tbh)
    I also really like their off roaders as they look almost military, proper looking & functional rather than try to be fish and meat. if you get my drift.

    Having ridden both the Meteor and the classic, other than the engine I found them very different bikes. But I fell for both of them. I wonder if you will find that they change you as a rider like I did and find the time spent riding is 100 % delightful. I'm excited to hear your verdict. With speed limits coming down I'm pretty sure we'll see a lot more RE bikes.

      What would you say was different about the two?

    • @TheArtdecovampire
      @TheArtdecovampire Год назад

      @@CoffeeD_1 The riding position on the classic is very much like a real British classic. To me it feels a bit faster than the meteor and the steering seemed a bit more responsive. The meteor is more relaxed, like an armchair. The steering puts less pressure on the wrists. When you first get on the classic after being used to the meteor there's a difference in the centre of gravity, your higher up and the gear change is under your foot, rather than ahead of it. For me it was a snappier change.
