Ok, sorry but I can't ignore that you pulled a knife out of your sink full of dirty dishes, didn't wash it, AND THEN USED IT TO CHOP STUFF FOR YOUR RECIPE!! 🤢🤮 Are you serious?!? I can't... I just can't!
I broadcast radish seeds in my garden in between plants. It’s great to prevent weeds, and you harvest the radishes or greens as needed. Plus, the long icicle radishes bring up deep soil nutrients. Whatever I don’t harvest I till in in the fall. Moreover, the bees love the flowers.
Bulk daikon radish seeds - sold as a cover crop - have been doing well for me in a similar fashion. And if they go to seed, the pods are edible and easy to harvest.
When you said you were going to “doll up” the soup a bit, I felt so tickled, because my Grandma would use that term. I sure appreciate your turn a phrase, flowery speech ❤
Great video! Thanks for saving my ears drums without excessive loud chopping sounds. I wear ear plugs and some demos, chop so harder and clang thier spoons against the bowl, it explode my ear drums! I also appreciate yor calm tone of voice with clear pronunciations. :) I'll be making this it sounds delicious!
Thanks Natasha! I'm so glad you liked it. How did your radishes turn out? The greens were the best part of. mine, many of the actual radishes didn't do as well 😅
These recipes look so good! I'm definitely going to try all of them soon :) For garlic cloves, I measure them as such: when a recipe says use two cloves of garlic, I use at least four cloves instead. You can never have too much!
I love that someone asked you yo change something and you were like.. no. Lol why should you adjust what you do over something so trivial, not to mention who puts EXACT amounts of garlic lol. Love your content, keep it up!
This time I used beat greens, a bit of carrot greens, a bit of beat greens and some kale... Also I added about 12 thai green chilli peppers, basil, ginger... And topped it with sea salt, a bunch of different peppers and stuff I put in my pepper mil and some mint. This is such a great approach to using the "tops" from the garden!!!!
I did another batch after doing a garden harvest today... Your recipe makes a super baseline for making interesting soups! Thanks for this video! onion (2 large) cilantro and mustard seed just a bit of each (I toasted them then crushed them) ginger (two thumbs) garlic (20 cloves) red hot chili (4) green hot chili (5) potato (4) beat leaves (200g) broccoli leaves (600g) 2/3 cilantro bungle basil (whole bundle)
Thanks so much for this! This is my first time time growing radishes and didn't want to waste the greens!. Also, for myself, I'm okay with # of cloves as I'll probably use more garlic than any recipe calls for :)
I’m so glad I found your channel! I was looking for what to do with radish greens from my garden. I’d tried to make green soups before but they always fell kind of flat-but yours was so good! I used half garlic mustard from our woods because I didn’t have enough radish greens. I think what makes yours so much better is the amount of garlic, the nutmeg, and the cider vinegar. You’ve inspired me to try the homemade mayo tomorrow…I’m a Kenji fan, too, but I’ve never gotten around to it.
Garlic flavor is personal. If you tell me "3 medium cloves", I'm good. Why dirty something else just to measure garlic? Besides, I rarely measure anything unless it's absolutely necessary & that's usually candy or desserts and I don't eat sugar any more so no more of that. Thanks for 4 great ideas! We have a garden full of radish tops and I had no idea what to do with them.
Hi Terri! I agree 100%. Not a big fan of washing extra measuring spoons! I’m envious of your radish tops. My garden bed is covered in a layer of snow at the moment 😅
I'm planning on growing a ton of radishes in between my other crops this year as an edible ground cover. I heard the greens were edible, but have never tried them; thank-you for this video, I will definitely be trying all these recipes as soon as the garden gets going again.
If you're using minced garlic, spoon measurements are convenient enough - heck, you'd need them for a conversion to clove measurements anyway. But yeah - precision with garlic isn't required for much of anything.
I found my paring knife works for me because i dont need a lot per use and i too feel i can control it easier than a chef knife especially for small portions
I am. . . trying to express my thoughts concerning your productions. You seem to bring forward information that say my Grandmother or Great Grandmother no doubt possessed concerning the wonderment of food and bring it forward to today in a very nice manner. Thank you. (she said.. No that's a dip!) A pinch, a dash, a clove. Dude needs to take a breath!
You are exciting. Pls get a wooden pestle to pound so you keep the stone for rotary grinding otherwise it will crack. Indian crockery & utensils shops sell it.
I agree with the measurements of garlic. People have different ways to learn. If your teaching, you need to k kw everyone learn differently. Clove is different measurements from powder to mince. Depending on the size.
Garlic is to taste. Guidelines are helpful. To many variable involved to quantify and exact amount of garlic. You have variety of garlic, soil grown in, water availability, curing time, etc….
No measuring garlic.....it does come in tiny cloves and huge loaves, But I feel you can never use too much garlic 🧄. If you like it add more to any recipe. If you like less, use less.
No... No tsp... Just clove it... Loosy goosy for me. My favorite to mess with my friends who say give a spoon measurment is "well really, to your taste is fine."
Anybody who would even want to know the measurements of a garlic clove has to be using pre-minced garlic out of a jar….. Bro, just eyeball it. It doesn’t matter.
Thanks for swinging by! I've been chowing down on radish greens all week! I'm happy to finally share the love with you.
Garlic is measured with the heart until the spirit of an ancestor whispers « that’s enough child ». That’s my measure. :)
I love this!

Oh that’s an awesome tip! I’ll have to try that!

These recipes look so good! I'm definitely going to try all of them soon :)
For garlic cloves, I measure them as such: when a recipe says use two cloves of garlic, I use at least four cloves instead. You can never have too much!
Ahhh that’s a great approach! Love it.
I just made soup and it's surprisingly delicious, also I added a bit of parmesan cheese to it. Thank you!
Great to hear!!
Wonderful & inspiring! Thank you for sharing your ideas
I’ll add as much garlic as I want - HA! 😁 Right there with you on the soup consistency 👍👍👍
Hahah perfect!
thanks. Love this presentation. I just picked some gorgeous radishes from my garden and love greens. Will make the pesto and chimichuri soon.
I made the pesto, I'm looking forward to the soup. Here in FL fall is the best garden time.
Lovely! I’m a bit envious, everything is dying off here now. I’ve got some garlic to plant though!
haha! yes! more garlic, more fun!
Always!
I love that someone asked you yo change something and you were like.. no. Lol why should you adjust what you do over something so trivial, not to mention who puts EXACT amounts of garlic lol.

I tried this and it came out great.
I added a few green hot chili peppers though. I added them around the time I added the garlic.
I did another batch after doing a garden harvest today...

Excellent show!! I'm trying to figure out if I can harvest my radishes and I want to use the greens rather then throw them in compost. thanks
Yay! I’m so happy to help!

Ahhh this made my smile Steven! Being likened - even in a small way - to a grandmother or great-grandmother is very touching indeed. Thank you 😊
Loose goose for me too❤
You are exciting. Pls get a wooden pestle to pound so you keep the stone for rotary grinding otherwise it will crack. Indian crockery & utensils shops sell it.
I did not know that it's a bad idea to pound with a stone pestle. Thank you for passing this along.

Garlic is not to be measured you need to use the force
You don't need the mortar for the chimichuri. Just chop the fresh herbs with a knife. It's usually how it's done.
No measuring garlic.....it does come in tiny cloves and huge loaves, But I feel you can never use too much garlic 🧄. If you like it add more to any recipe. If you like less, use less.
YES I'm with you on that. Thanks Nancy!
i weigh all my ingredients by gram! except powder seasonings, i don’t measure those!
So much more accurate! My digital scale ran out of batteries the other day and I was so lost 😅
Nice recipes the garlic measuring is for people who use chopped garlic 😅
Good point!
❤
I rarely measure anything 😘
If you buy already chopped garlic in a jar, it says 1 tsp = 1 clove of garlic.
I had NO idea you could eat radish tops!
Really mom? Well they do have a bit of a kick, I think you’d like the soup though!
Seriously, right?
No... No tsp... Just clove it... Loosy goosy for me. My favorite to mess with my friends who say give a spoon measurment is "well really, to your taste is fine."
Hahah we speak the same language!!
If your cloves are kinda small ... well round up 😂
I never measure my garlic, or my onions, or anything..... waste of time.
Why measure garlic? If the recipe says 3 cloves, use 6, unless they're small, then make it 9!
Loosy Goosy to the bone!!!
😎

Are you married? 🥰
I also have a crush on her
No.
