Listen, the world needs to know that they shouldn't be throwing out radish leaves! I'm making it my personal mission to make radish greens a regular star on your plate and I think this simple sauteéd radish tops recipe should be in your meal rotation. Give them a try and let me know what you think! 🌱 ♻
Thank you for this! I had no idea I could eat them raw in a salad. I will definitely add them. I want to cook them right now though so thanks for the recipe!
@@SeedsofFaithGarden They're great in salads! Just make sure to give them a good wash before using them. I actually have a Radish Greens Salad recipe here: www.forkintheroad.co/radish-leaves-salad/
Blessings Christina. I look forward to the farmers markets because their root vegetables still have the greens attached. A lot of folks that buy produce from the grocery stores, never saw the leaves. I'm cooking kholrabi greens and radish greens with my oyster mushrooms and ramps. I love spring vegetables.
So true! I have actually asked the manager at my local grocery store if they have carrots with leaves multiple times. And eventually they started to carry them, so it never hurts to ask!
I think about all of those lost, lonely radish leaves that were thrown out and get sad. I'm on a mission to save them from the compost (or worse, the trash!).
Well I just pulled out my radishes which were way overgrown, and wondered what to do with the leaves. So thanks for the info and great demo! I haven’t eaten them yet. My wife says she doesn’t like radishes so I might sneak them onto a pizza instead of basil and see if she notices 😂
There are so many ways to use up radish greens! This sautéed greens is one of my favorites, but I have a other recipes like pesto, soup, and even smoothies on my website. And I have definitely also snuck in the leaves for my family, they had no idea. 😉
roast them in the oven like you do brussel sprouts or any other veggie.. toss in EVOO, salt and pepper.. 400 for 20 minutes or fork tender.. taste so good, and a good substitute for potatoes if you are doing keto..
If you add teriyaki sauce to the recipe, then it’ll balance out the flavor of the greens because they’re a bit too tart. That’s what I did and it turned out perfect
Beet greens are actually my favorite green! I haven’t made a video about them yet but you can find a ton of beet leaves recipes on my site at www.forkintheroad.co/recipes. Thanks for watching!
question? i sowed diakon radish seeds 3 weeks ago at the end of sept as a raised bed cover crop for the winter. now i have beautiful green leaves. can i cut some now for this recipe?
Hi there! Yes, you can absolutely use daikon radish greens in this recipe, and that's a great idea to cut the leaves while you're using the radishes for a cover crop. In fact, now I'm thinking I should do the same this winter! Hope you enjoy.
Interesting, thanks for sharing! It's actually strange we tend to throw them out here in the US when they're edible (and delicious). Same with other vegetable leaves like beet greens and carrot tops. 🤷♀️
I really like the idea of root to stem, it's kinda like nose to tail. What a great way to use everything. Reduce waste, extra nutrients, and stretch that dollar. Thank you!
Nothing goes to waste! I love using all parts of a plant, too often we throw out perfectly edible plant parts because we’re not used to seeing what plants looks like in their whole form anymore.
Very long video and waste of my time. Lots of repetitive comments in the video. Start at 1:55. And fast forward at 5minutes how to store the radish leaves. That's all
Thanks for the feedback -- this was my very first long form video I had ever made, so there was a lot to learn after making it. You can't be perfect right out of the gate!
Yikes, lady… I thought it was great informative video, for a new radish grower, like myself! Thank you! ❤ As the saying goes, you can’t please everyone and there’s nasty people out there.
@@NikkiKiser Thanks for your comment! Obviously when you're a creator you put yourself out there for critique, so I have a thick skin by now. Feedback helps me make better content, in my opinion. @@forkintheroad_co you are a great person and that’s an excellent outlook. And a genuine critique from myself is that it was a great and informative video! ❤️ Maybe it’s because I’m doing my first garden this year and so it’s not repetitive or a waste of my time because I’m just figuring out what to do with whole radishes for the first time? 🤔😂 Yeah, I get annoyed sometimes because I think texting and the online space can remove the humanity out of it making it a lot easier for people to be rude and mean to each other. I appreciate your knowledge! Keep doing what you’re doing, sharing your knowledge and making the world a better place!🥳 👏
@@NikkiKiser Thanks for your kind words, and good luck with your garden! It's so therapeutic, it's my time to recharge and it feels wonderful to make meals with things I actually grew.

So glad you liked it! Feels good knowing you didn’t let them go to waste too. 🥰
Thanks darling, been throwing them, but now am try them ❤

I added raddish leaves to shrimp alfredo with feta cheese. Really good.
That's a great way to use them up!
Thank you I try this as your way thank you
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoy eating the greens.
I rinse them and put them in my juicer with other greens like turnip greens, and other veggies like carrots, celery, cucumbers etc.
That's a great idea! I also have a recipe for a radish greens smoothie on my website, but you definitely have to love the bitter taste.
Thanks for sharing
I've fried my radishes, leaves, garlic, onion and sausage.. yum
Sounds great! Love using up the leaves however I can. Thanks for watching!
Thank you! Awesome recipe and tips!
So glad you liked it!
Thank you love the recipe ❤
Dang! Didn't know that. No more tossing the greens. Thank you so much.
Hope you enjoy! Using them up is a great way to reduce food waste.
@@forkintheroad_co I'll never look at radishes any differently. I don't waste food and being "almost" Vegan, this was a super tip. Happy Holidays!

Great tip! That's a great way to cut the bitter taste of radish greens.
Today for lunch I made sautéed radish greens on a low carb tortilla with melted colby jack cheese. It was delicious!
Such a great green! Love reusing them and not letting them go to waste
Very nice video & information thank you for sharing
So nice of you! Glad you found it helpful. Enjoy those radish leaves!
Wow i will try thie

I love garlic too! On a single sauté, I use a whole head of a garlic 🥹
There's no such thing as too much garlic, in my opinion.
That was perfect! I just got farm market radishes with the most beautiful greens.
How could I possibly toss them. Thank you!
I"m so glad you liked it, Regina! Thanks for sharing. You'll never toss them again!
❤my favorite ❤
Delicious i have plenty of radish leaves
Put them to good use! They’re a tasty green that is often overlooked
Th ak you so much, i was curious about “can I eat radish leaf?” Aaaa finally
Yes! They're such a great leafy green that typically gets thrown away.
Rather than growing for the roots, I personally grow radishes closer together for microgreens and then grow on for full salads leaves.
The microgreens are delicious too!
I'm eating my homegrown daikon radish leaves tonight!
I hope they were delicious! I love using up greens in interesting ways.
In India Raddish greens are a staple.
Interesting, thanks for sharing! It's actually strange we tend to throw them out here in the US when they're edible (and delicious). Same with other vegetable leaves like beet greens and carrot tops. 🤷♀️
@@forkintheroad_co, I use the beet greens along with raw honey, ginger and apple to prepare a detox drink. Works wonders for my liver.

you'd wanna look through the leaves if they have any sort of bad leaves in it before you wash them
Radish greens make great pesto sauce....
They do! I actually have a recipe for it here: www.forkintheroad.co/radish-greens-pesto/
Which type of radish? Some has the very fuzzy leaves.
I look for radishes without very thick fuzz, or very prickly leaves. But also I’ve found that they soften after they’re cooked.

Eating a littel dirt can't kill you.
That's true! Some say it actually helps to boost your immune system and diversifies your gut microbiome.
I grow turnips and radish. I've greens are good in stew. Like in a crock pot.
Wrong a little dirt is just fine
