Quoting Shakespeare’s “Macbeth” during the highlight of McBeth’s -18 round is a masterclass in broadcasting/writing. So clever! That segment did so much for the sport.
I like how the condescension and passive dismissal of the sport lessens as the clips get newer. You can almost hear the disdain in their voices a couple times because they had to do a disc golf highlight on some of the older ones.
The constant crap I caught at work back in the 90s for taking vacation time to go play, God forbid, a "Frisbee Tournament" was brutal. I told you guys it was gonna catch on. Ok, so it took 30 more years. (Arden Branch, USPS can just eat one)

love the Shakespeare quotes on the play by play of the perfect round. loved seeing Prodigy Paige from back in the day. Always awesome to watch the Conrad shot.
ESPN totally has an agenda to promote the PGA over the PDGA. Hopefully they'll see the value disc golf is bringing and give it more coverage. It will be inevitable with the rate it's growing. Also didn't know they covered McBeth's 18- round, that's pretty awesome.
PGA has more money in it so from a business standpoint it makes sense for them to cover it. I definitely prefer disc golf more, but I understand why it’s not covered extensively, you have to play the numbers game and know your audience
Any coverage is good coverage for disc golf, and its a good sign that ESPN2 and CBS have attempted post production as is. Sport's headed in the right direction.
there is clearly some hidden agenda and that is why they don't cover disc golf, but when they did, I missed it and it was pretty good. is that what you just said?
The people on ESPN have no idea about sports they all just read off teleprompters. Especially the sports center crew. You can tell they all got cut from high school sports.
4:20 I love that the spokesperson labeled the position he was throwing from as "in jail" when its a teepad lol some of these teepads really do look impossible
From his reaction you could tell he was thinking it was like regular golf. That would be jail in ball golf but just an interesting challenge for discers.
There were a few where the anchors sounded snooty and condescending about having to talk about disc golf highlights, but saw the clip and were actually impressed.
As good these are, there definitely could've been more. Babcock's $10,000 Ace, for example. Wysocki's walk-off Ace in Utah from 2018, Philo's 'microphone drop' Ace, Nikko could've had a third clip with that Albatross... even Simon's goofball roller Ace could've been up here!
Quoting macbeth while mcbeth shoots an -18 is poetry
Literally 😂
It's the greatest breakdown I've ever seen them do.
I've watched that clip a few times and it's still brilliant!
