    Hi Melissa,
    Ur all reviews are so helpful. Pls do a video on layering for dull uneven skin and hyperpigmentation with product recommentations and basic AM & PM routines if possible. I have added mandelic acid and vitamin c+ arbutin in my routine by watching ur videos. Thanks👍🏻♥

    Hi Melissa! I have very resistant blackheads on my nose . I use paula’s choice bha toner and exfoliate every other week with ordinary aha bha peeling solution but still those are there. I use hyaluronic acid and niacinamide also . Please Make a video on how to remove resistant blackheads

      You need to extract them with a tool that is the easiest way :) After that, you can maintain it with your products; still, if you are prone to get them, you need to do it regularly.

    Hello, should you refrigerate the ordinary granactive retine-A after opening?

    Hi, I don't know if you remember me, but you recommended me to use some products for acne, so I have a question. I have been using salicylic acid for a few weeks now and everything was fine, last week I started using niacinamide and retinol and now I started getting new acne again in the same place, is that normal?

    • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial
      @MelissaVanDijkOfficial  2 года назад +1

      This was your routine, right? 🤔
      AM:
      Cerave Cleanser
      Salicylic Acid Serum
      (Optional) Moisturizer
      SPF (or Moisturizer with SPF)
      PM:
      Cerave Cleanser
      Niacinamide
      Retinol (2-3 times per week)
      (Optional) Moisturizer
      When adding new treatments to the routine, it is normal to get new "acne/breakouts" since the skin needs to adjust to it. But that should go away after a few weeks; if it continues, something is wrong. And generally, if it is purging, you will get in places you never had before, which makes me wonder if it is "purging".
      Generally, after so many years, I can still not keep my acne fully under control while using the treatments. It only made it much better, but I do get acne repeatedly in the same areas. I assume it's caused by an imbalance in hormones/stress, food, etc. Maybe that is also something you need to consider.
      It would help if you used it for a bit longer to see what it is and how to deal with it. Unfortunately, there is not much I can do.

      @@MelissaVanDijkOfficial I don’t think it’s purging because my whole face is clean expect between my eyebrows and my forehead where I already had them. I will continue to use these products and I hope it will help. I also have a problem with acne marks, I have a lot of them. It’s been few months and it seems that nothing changed, they are still red. I hope it gets better, I’m so sad because I had a very clean face and suddenly this. But thank you so much for everything, you helped me a lot!!!

      Hmm, yeah, that's what I thought. But some dark spots just need time to heal, and it is not much you can do except wait and always protect them well during the day with sunscreen to not make them worse because that is, from my experience, the biggest issue. And happy to help :)

    Can I apply Retinal within the same routine as Smooth out 12% AHA+Cactus? 1. Smooth out AHA and then 2. Retinal A-Game?

    • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial
      @MelissaVanDijkOfficial  6 месяцев назад +2

      I believe this product is quite potent, so I would not recommend using both at the same time. It's better to use them on alternate days. Also, please keep in mind that both the 0.1% retinal and the AHA can be highly potent. Therefore, I suggest being cautious with your application routine. My recommendation would be to start with one product for several weeks and only introduce the other if you still find it necessary.

      @@MelissaVanDijkOfficial Thank you very much. I applied Retinol in the evening and as I am home all day and the weather is dark anyway, I applied the 12%AHA in the morning (before having seen your advice). I guess it was a mistake.. I'll consider your advice for next time and thanks a lot for answeing. Your channel is among my favourites because you answer questions even though your channel is popular. Keep up the great work!

      @@stavrospylarinou684 This may work too, as you are not layering one treatment after the other. However, depending on how your skin responds to both treatments over time, it may still be too potent. In that case, it's best to use them in the evening on alternate days.
