I'm glad to see this movie gaining traction in the reaction community. This and "A Knight's Tale" are my top 2 movies all time. Everyone thinks this is just a cheesy movie about fighting robots but it's actually a lot more than that.
It's a crime that this movie did not get a sequel

It got overshadowed by pacific rim and this was definitely better imo
Literally one of the most underrated movies. Max watching his father do something he truly loves just makes me tear up every single time - mostly because usually it’s the other way around and parents watch the kids, but it’s important to point out that even parents are still kids at heart and can enjoy life just as much

I remember going to the movies to see this opening night. Got really pumped every fight.

jv, atom is actually aware, like zeus learns from his fights, it may be possible atom was a prototype of what zeus is, thing about prototypes, they have more capability to be customized than the final product.
That is actually really good thinking and would explain Farah's heavy valuation so thanks for the new headcanon

@@eliezerosorio2127 I was thinking of a robot that has the moves of noisy boy, even setting the background of it being something like the son of noisy boy, where it's like for years he followed his fathers footsteps, but when he learned that the softness got to him, he trained to be the toughest he can. What do you think?

Real Steel is a great movie.
Ive noticed more reactions to this movie fairly recently, which makes me really happy! I love this movie despite it not being my usual style. Its an interesting idea and the actors(especially the child actor) really sell it.
There was three different scripts of this movie, one where Atom is just a robot, one where Atom is fully aware, and one where they kept it ambiguous. The ambiguous script is the one they ended up keeping.

I remember this coming out in 2011, my parents were going through a separation. And I was very depressed. I remember that my siblings and I were in custody of my dad on a Saturday and he took us to the movies, we ended up watching this movie and I cried so much. This movie just sits in my heart so much because of this memory. I’m glad this movie was reacted to (: I was 11 when I saw the movie and now I am 23. I love this movie!
The year my daughter went to High School we watched this one Girls Night. Absolutely loved it! She took it to a couple of sleepovers and they all learned the dance routines. It’s a solid film. My own mum is a fan of boxing and also loved this. Loving the reactions 😊

The actor who plays Ricky, his name is Kevin Durand. He acted with Huge before. The movie is X-Men Origins: Wolverine. He plays Fred Dukes aka Blob.
Atom was a sparring bot so he always mimicked what other bots did while fighting. I like how they have him staring at himself in the mirror cause since he is in shadow mode he was shadowing himself. I love the final fight scene when Charlie has to show Atom how to fight and he’s telling Atom to listen to him then they both look at Max.
11:00 because the truck is so tall and you need to see what is immediately in front of it. at least that is my theory
This is a movie that flew under the radar for some reason. Great movie.
Hugh Jackman is my favourite actor. I hope he eventually win an Oscar.
I believe there was (or still is) a second one being created by Disney. There were official articles I believe but I read it was going to be a series and then a movie, then a series then a movie. So I got no clue when it’ll be released, and what format. But keep your eyes peeled basically 😂

I'm not going to lie. I get a bit choked up at the moment in the movie with Baily sees Max watching Charlie and she knows that Max is seeing Charlie the same way that she saw Charlie during his big fight back in the day. Max is seeing Charlie have that moment again. It's just a really good heartfelt moment.

No, it's not all CGI, the robots are real and physical and yes, motion capture is a thing too, I believe. I will say it now and I will say it every time, everyone needs to see the behind the scenes of this movie! There is so much love and creativity in this, it's truly beautiful 💜 They wanted to do a second movie but both main actors (I think) didn't were satisfied with the story and/or screenplay. They talked about it more than one time as well but they didn't thought the story would do the first movie justice. I don't know if they are talking about it again or not, this is just my point from the articles I read over the last year's
Criminally under rated movie but it's awesome seeing different YT reactors reacting to this great movie
The only thing I've ever really seen Dakota Goyo (Max) in besides this is when he played young Thor in the first Thor movie. After this I kind of expected him to blow up, as he's clearly got acting chops, but it doesn't look like he appeared in much.

9:00 a lotta ppl just have kids cause its the "normal" thing to do. Get married and have kids but don't have a good parenting skills which leads to children asking why they were born and such and leads to depression and so on
They had some deleted scenes where it seemed like Atom was sentient but the director opted to leave it out and keep it ambiguous and let the viewer decide on their own.

And the problem about shadow mode is the person who do the move for Atom to copy, this mode is seriously dangerous since a person can be tired. The longer the fight, the more disadvantage this mode become
I don't think custody will change (and that it shouldn't), as Charlie, Max and agreed with the Aunt that the custody would stand at the end (in the very nice scene where she let him apologize to Max). I just think going forward that Charlie will have Max in his life as much as possible, and the aunt will be nice and let that happen (I love that she is a nice person and the movie didn't make her the bad guy). I do think Atom was sentient to a degree -- he nods when Max asks him if he understands him. Great reaction as always, JV! I love this little movie -- it is so moving at the end.

Ah the only sports movie I actually enjoyed, simply because they didn't hold back; letting the main character be a blatant selfish jerk, impressive robotic special effects, highlighting the darker side of gambling, showcasing some alternate history worldbuilding, and of course the wholesome father & son redemption arc.
While I agree I would've loved a sequel to this underrated drama, I don't think it needed one since it ends off on such a well rounded high note after so much hardship from everybody.

this is robot ROCKY, Rocky did rope a dope in his movies with Drago, Rocky lost his first fight against apollo but proved he was better than apollo, but i like this movie a lot and what gets me is the part were atom is aware. He court max when he slipped down the hill you notice as max does when they go on that night run . I think they should make a second or more movies and bring this aspect out .

@JV's Galactic Adventures This movie got me teared up too. Like you, I also tell Alexa 'thank you'. We're social, it makes sense to appreciate creations helping us. Creating more AI could become dangerous in the future. Showing a bit a love may give a bit of harmony instead of a take over.
I really try to not make sequels that don't deserve to be. And it's why I didn't move forward with the Real Steel sequel because I didn't feel we had a second movie that could match or top the first.
