Still a great pump gun even though it is mostly plastic, ruclips.net/user/postUgkxh4su9YgU1tWmjikirWcKJbjsFLEU62Bc but with care it will last a long time. It would be neat if Crosman would make a commemorative version of this with real wood stock, but of course it would weigh more and cost more, but hey, it would be cool. So then start adding in the reloading equipment costs and time to learn and process hundreds of rounds a week or month. I bought a Savage 110 Elite Precision in May of this year (2022)... I opted for the .308 Win. Before the 1st round was EVER fired from it (actually before it left the store) I had it rechambered for 300 WSM... Add to the rifle’s price ( $1700.00 ), an Atlas bipod and rear monopod, a Trijicon 4.5-30x Accu-Trac scope, Seekins rings, EGW 60 MOA Base, scope level, a set of butt pad spacers, and “new” CeraKote to entire rifle (I hated the MDT Grey)... And viola, I now have 2000-yard tack-driver for just under $ 4500.00... AND WORTH EVERY PENNY INVESTED...!!! How could anyone whine about a sub-1” group @ 400 yards (0.23moa)...???
i have been extremely happy with my savage stealth in .308 (in the older mdt chassis ) it has been very solid out to 800 yards on steel , consistent on coyotes out to 500 yards and solidly put down 6 deer over the past 2 years from 200 to 300 yards !
Great video. 👍 I just won a savage 110 classic 6.5 cm . Found this video because I was doing research on the elite to see if the gun shop will let me get this with added funds of course. And the wife will think I won this one 🤣
I have owned several savages and they all shoot consistantly well. I would be interested in this gun with a mini action in 6ARC or 6.5 Grendel for plinking out to 1000 yards.
Great review. There's a 1000 yard range here in Cedar City, Utah, Ive been using my Daniel Defense V7 Pro to put 5.56's out to 500 yards, now to get the rest with a 308 chambering of this.
i installed a bolt lift kit/bearing into my savage 110 tactical and it solved the bolt lift issue. although it did not fix the hiccup in the feeding of a round into the chamber, its 6.5 creed and with the sharp shoulder angle it seems to catch on the shoulder when feeding the next round almost every time. the action as a whole is pretty gritty and sloppy as well, you need to hold your mouth just right while the stars align above you to get a smooth feed into the chamber.

Purchase one of these back in Feb in 300 Win Mag. The long action rifles do not include a muzzle device. Added a Vortex Viper PST gen 2 with precision rings. Purchased a Dead Air muzzle break, great break. Changed on the trigger to an 8oz single stage. I have been shooting consistent sub MOA out to 1500 yards. With the addition of the chassis weights, I have mine balance to my shooting style and now mine comes in just under 25 lbs. every easy to stay on target and spot my shots. Awesome rifle, will keep up or exceed any production class rifle on the market IMO.
I’m just now getting into long range precision rifles.. what scope, mounts and muzzle break would you recommend putting on a new Savage Axis 2 Precision in a 6.5 CM
It would all depend what I'm doing, but yeah if I'm primarily bench rest shooting, or PRS style shooting, I feel the added weight is an advantage. But of course that added weight would make this an awful hunting rifle. In my opinion. Thanks for watching!
Would you buy this or the Bergara wilderness HMR .. ? Just getting into long range and also debating 6.5 creed vs the 300 prc in either rifle . If you read this thanks in advance!
Both will get the job done. If you think you may get into PRS shooting I'd recommend the savage, if you want a more versatile rifle that you could possibly hunt with too, I'd get the HMR. As far as caliber that depends on how far you want to go. 6.5 Creed is awesome and my favorite over all caliber for long range precision, however it pretty much is going to top out at about 1500 yards. However, there are some people that do shoot it farther. 300PRC can go deep! It's supposed to be good to 2000 or I've even heard some people shooting it out to 2500. Of course that comes with much higher ammo prices and more recoil making shooting less enjoyable. 6.5 is probably for more people. Thanks for watching!
I have the hmr wilderness in 308 and its an extremely accurate rifle when using fed gold medal match 168gr. As in clover leaf..... but the ejection plunger is very weak causing issues. Btw, its heavy enough you won't want to hunt to far with it. The savage....no way will you hunt with that. In my opinion, uts a competition gun only. I really want one but its lop is 14 in min. Which idk, I'm a small dude...the hmr is about half the price . If you're not into competition, go hmr wilderness. The wilderness is very worth it over the regular hmr. The metal is ceracoated.....the regular model will rust very easily in comparison, trust me on that, seen it.
4 years from now we will be fighting to keep bolt action rifles and revolvers. Can you do a favor 7 review? I need one last big buy before they make everything illegal.
Well with 6 Creedmoore at 1000 rounds you need to start seriously thinking about it and watching for any signs of sever barrel wear like the barrel not be able to hold as tight of a zero as it once did. Thank you for watching!
Another great vide keep up the great work. In the introduction there was a shooting platform about 8 foot off the ground I’m curious to the dimensions of that I’d like to build one at my range
I have this rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor and have added all 5 MDT internal weights plus 6 external, plus the stock or rear weight. It shoots great but that bolt is terrible. Nothing smooth about it period... Also, I want to go with a different trigger...I can't find anyone with a replacement trigger for this. I also have a Ruger Precision Rifle which came with a trigger similar to the Savage AccuTrigger. I replaced it with a one pound Timney and it is excellent. I've tried 3 or 4 trigger companies and no luck. So far, I've hit steel out to 1,200 yards. I'm sure it will go beyond that IF I could find a place to shoot that distance. Nice video anyway.
When you get the chance would you mind comparing similar rifles from Ruger, Howa, Bergara etc to it? Perhaps in the same price range. Thanks for the review.
Thank you for watching. Those are actually 2 completely different rifles. The Sig Cross is actually a hunting rifle. It’s very light weight so if you have to carry it long distances you won’t notice it as much. That light weight is going to make recoil much more harsh and follow up shots not as quick. The savage precision is a precision or PRS rifle. They’re fairly heavy, but that weight is going to make recoil less, greatly speeding up follow up shots. It’s much more pleasant to shoot, but you wouldn’t really want to carry it too far. I’d get the one that does the job you need it to do. Thanks for watching.
Those do look like a sweet rifle. Also another great one that is in about that price range are the Badrock rifles. Would not mind seeing a video on the Bedrock rifle as well.
This or the Sig Cross? The savage PRS bolt throw looks like a big letdown, but having to put your finger in the trigger well to drop the mag on the cross bothers me equally. Thoughts?
I watched another video of this rifle recently chambered in 6.5 CM having a well known issue with feeding and extracting. Wondering if it's just related to that specific chambering. I'm looking for one in .308win but may go with a Tikka because of savages issues with sloppy bolt and weak extraction.
The Tikka's are excellent rifles, action is so smooth. Just purchase the Elite 110 in .308 but sitting in jail for 10 days (CA). Will update later on overall thoughts.
@@Chevy2U thanks for the info! Yeah I held off can't currently find a 24" Tikka ANYWHERE in 308 instead I found a great deal on a S&W 629 PC Hunter 🤤 and got that instead

Not for sure it screamed “rich” but it sure was screaming LOUD !
Bolt lift can be tamed some with savage tactical handle.
Great review. I love the channel. Keep up the good work.
Awesome brother , and yes I agree wit your videos get very pricey thats y I haven't posted one on my channel GUNSTHRILLS&CHILLS
I quit caring what the NUTS in Washington DC do to subvert my rights.
Great content guys as always thank
Thanks for watching!
Great video as always
Appreciate that man! Thanks for watching!
love this gun! i have the 6.5 creed
Just got a new 6.5 CM Savage axis 2 precision. Got any tips on what scope to run on it? And which lifters to use?
Love the video, but man it looks difficult to cycle that bolt. I wonder if they've made it any smoother these days?
I noticed that also watching another video on this rifle
beautiful firearm !!
Thank you sir! and thanks for watching!
That's such a rad shirt
Bought one of these today in 338 Lapua. Roll Tide !!!
Where at? 👀👀 been itching to get a 338 Lapua

I see you got that area 419 maverick on there, I'm looking forward to see your thoughts in a review
Video should be coming in the next few weeks, very impressive and versatile can. Thanks for watching!
@@AlabamaArsenal looking forward to it
Awesome review as always..thank you! How do you rate this vs the tikka Tac A1?
So your saying after 1 thousand rounds you need to change the barrel to a new one?fantastic review thanks for your time.
Well with 6 Creedmoore at 1000 rounds you need to start seriously thinking about it and watching for any signs of sever barrel wear like the barrel not be able to hold as tight of a zero as it once did. Thank you for watching!
May, 2022, bought one via Gallery of Guns. 6.5 Creedmoor.
Have you looked at all into the Springfield Armory Waypoint? I'm curious how it compares to this
I love my Ruger precision 338lapua mag
Please do a video on a Christensen Arms MPR rifle... love to see a "shootout bolt gun" video!
Savage, CA, Sig, Q... ect
When you get the chance would you mind comparing similar rifles from Ruger, Howa, Bergara etc to it? Perhaps in the same price range.
Thanks for the review.
That would be cool, ammo would have to return to a normal state though. Thanks for watching!
Looks like a nice rifle! Is the feeding as rough as it looks in the video?
Sig Cross Vs Savage elite? Which would you choose? Thanks for the awesome content!
Great vid. What bipod model and adapter is used for the quick slide on the underside rail? Just ordered this rifle and would like that same adapter
It’s an atlas PSR standard height with the Area 419 Arca adapter made for the Atlas bipods. Thanks for watching
great vid... I'm looking at one of these in 300PRC...
Those do look like a sweet rifle. Also another great one that is in about that price range are the Badrock rifles. Would not mind seeing a video on the Bedrock rifle as well.
your videos are great. thank you
Glad you like them! Thanks for watching!
really nice video, Good work
information on point brother ; bless
The thing is beautiful
As a lefty shooter, I prefer rh bolt guns over lh. That rifle is gorgeous
What scope would you suggest paring up with one of these in .308? $1000-1500 range.
I'm thinking about the Tikka T3X TAC A1 around the same money and finished off. 👍
This or the Sig Cross? The savage PRS bolt throw looks like a big letdown, but having to put your finger in the trigger well to drop the mag on the cross bothers me equally. Thoughts?
I have a couple of savages. They are good guns
I have a Savage Axis 2 Precision in 6.5 CM. And I’m new to the precision rifle world.. What scope would you recommend that would still be wallet friendly
