Chris Alo is the man: Sorcery (stuntrock) is a phenomenal album, so ahead of its time. It’s dark, heavy and has some of the best riffs/songs of the seventies metal scene. Everyone, go check it out!
The favorite albums by year series is a great addition to the SoT channel. The regular Squares who were absent may have been missed but what a great line-up by having Rich Catino again alon with John Gaffney and Chris Caffery. Most of my choices are included - certainly after Pete mentioned Adventures in Utopia. And the biggest chuckle today for me was when Lynne channeled Pete with her three word commentary on Mr. Axl Rose. Thanks to everyone for their lists and for a great hour of entertainment.
Interesting show and I agree picking a year and listing favorite albums is a great topic. The '70s and early '80s would be easy but the '90s would be something of an interesting challenge.
HTH is one of my favorite hard rock albums of all time. If I was making a top 10 favorite hard rock/metal albums of all time, it’d EASILY make my top 10

THE YEAR WAS 1979 , metal was finding its ground , rock was fighting off that new craze disco ! muscle cars , rock clubs , vinyl , 8 tracks , blacklight posters were all the rage !
Bell bottoms were still in. No MTV yet; USA Night Flight and the Midnight Special showed live rock bands. Concert T's were either purchased AT concerts, or by mail order (allow 6 weeks for delivery). Paying COD for mail order goods. Posters and other inserts inside LPs. New malls with ice rinks and Chick Fil A. "Rock N Roll High School" in theaters!
Great stuff! Was awesome to see John Gaffney loved how articulate and informative he was when asked to present his picks. Agree with most of the picks and think they are pretty diverse. Chris Alo is the man: Sorcery (stuntrock) is a phenomenal album, so ahead of its time. It’s dark, heavy and has some of the best riffs/songs of the seventies metal scene.
Everyone, go check it out!
Thanks! Yeah, I totally dig it. And I also love the movie! I was able to run a vintage 35mm film print of it at my film festival a few years back.
