I was sent the link to this video from a customer...wow...thank you Mike for using our product, I'm not sure which of our Distributors you buy from...but thank you!
Looks great, I have a pool so I can really notice the change. My concrete isn’t cracked, but it’s shifted.the didn’t use re-Bare I’m assuming…. And never had those white strips. I go a change the liner next year hopefully parts of it that are shifted can be covered and built up a bit or I’m going to have to take it out….. The people I bought it from build pools, when I bought the house it was basically new. I was a 20 year old that bought my first house, knew nothing about pools or Hot tubs. I was basically a young kid that bought his first house, asking it was 100% perfect cause the people do it for a living. In in Canada so we get cold winters…. My aggregate is still good, no cracks, it’s just that each form has shifted. It’s a 50K pool here. Most people think it’s a nice pool, but it’s embarrassing. That looks good and looks like the liner has been changed looks like a new pool.
Great job and perfect example what it takes for such deceivingly diy project. Three guys, various and special machinery plus the drying time in between repairs and coating. I am curious what would happen to stress joints since you painted over them? It seems that some sort of pvc is stuffed in there. Do you think coating will peal off of it or not so much? Thanks for sharing. 👽
Deck Seal if used on a deck with a lot of texture like the one in this video, uses the roughness of the deck and is not very slippery. However, If it is very smooth concrete with no texture, then add an anti-slip sand, which is pretty typical of any acrylic or paint like deck coating going down over smooth concrete with no texture.
Good day Mike. You are an inspiration to many especially sharing your skills. Thanks... Mike, I am from Australia and I wanted to do re surface of my patio since the previous owner didnt maintain the paint/sealant on it and now, it looks flacky paint and mouldy. Please if ok with you , I want to ask what solutions you are using from start until the kind of paint and finaal sealants you use please...Thanks again
Great video as always. If I can make a suggestion..Your man is using a wand to clean around the pool which takes forever. I am a power washer so if you wanted to invest in a 16" surface cleaner you can finish the power washing in a fraction of the time..Keep up the great videos..
I just poured a brand new concrete pool deck. It stains with leaf tannins. Does this paint clean up easy? I have to power wash everything to try and get the stains out. They also applied a sealer after 30 days. Please advise product name and color . Great job
You said the same thing about the product from sherwin Williams. Sherecrete do which product did you use on your basketball court for 7 years. Just curious.
I have a 12’x26’ slab next to my pool that I’m going to put a new pergola on. I grinded the slab today with a concrete grinder to remove the old “cool deck” concrete onlay. Now it is really smooth. Does this paint get slippery when it gets wet? I need something that has a little grip to it so nobody slips and falls. Can you recommend a coating that would work?
Mike, I have enjoyed watching your videos over the past couple days. I want to coat my 23 year old pool deck. I am not sure which product you are recommending. Two different videos you mention that you have had a product on your basketball court for seven years, but both were different products, so not sure which you used. Can you please clarify? BTW, Sherwin Williams has Conflex available in my area.
We used Conflex for years with good luck, then they stopped making it (Covid). So we started using Mapai Mapecoat Deck T. Also very good. If you can get Conflex I think you'll be happy with that.
FANTASTIC JOB! Does it scratch easily if you put patio furniture on and and it gets moved around. I'm looking to paint my 15 X 30 covered patio and then stencil over that. Should I seal it to prevent potential scratching. Also what about slipping on it when it gets wet? Thanks
Looking good. Some advice for the cracks on decks... 1.Use grinding disk following and exposing crack. 1/8 - 1/4" deep should be fine. 2. Blow out and remove dust. 3. SIKA two part epoxy to fill the cracks, several passes if needed until epoxy levels on deck. Scrape excess when epoxy is tight enough. At this point, you can do several things depending on how wide the cracks are. With a hairline cracks, just breeze down the epoxy with grinder to feather it level with deck, this also preps the epoxy to allow a mechanical bond for paint or sealers or caulking. The crack in this video would get ground down, along with a very small groove following exactly where the crack is, making a bed for urethane caulking. Clean crack, fill groove with urethane and then level. You know everything about concrete and cracks, so what this will basically do is create a superior bond with both sides of the crack and put a flexible "expansion joint" (caulking) where the cracks are. It's going to crack again as you know, but the caulking and sealer won't. Keeping moisture out and not revealing the cracks when they do come back. Many years in Florida pool decking, best solution I've ever found. No call backs ever.
Thanks for this lesson. Do you know if this paint has any cooling feature to it? On hot summer days would this help to prevent the surface from being too hot for bare feet?
This is by far that best and most informative video I've seen on pool deck resurfacing. Glad you mentioned to to use this on a driveway..lol that was my goal. Plus I'm thinking I can do this myself on my dads pool deck in florida. Trying to sell the house the the pool area looks so bad. Thanks so much. I'm gonna watch this again.
I have concrete slab that we made for my sons basketball court. He wants it painted. What is the best stain or paint do use for the basketball court where he will not slip when it’s wet? Thanks 🏀
The product appears to work well. Would you use this on concrete that has a rough surface such as some aggregate showing but no cracks? Or should one use a product that "fill in" first then paint the surface?
I will let Mike (the expert) reply on filling in or not filling in...what I can tell you about Deck Seal is that it will "mimic" or coat over whatever is under it and show the pattern, bumpiness, etc. of what it is over. So if you don't like the texture of the concrete, you may want to address that first before adding a colored sealer over it.
It does well...but...a pressure washer at full strength is designed to strip pain and other materials away, so be carful of the pressure you use to clean any coating. Also, like any acrylic over time the elements can weaken the surface, so again...be carful of how much pressure you are actually using when cleaning the surface.
Only grind high spots. If you don’t have a pressure washer look into soft washes for concrete with a cheap pump sprayer and a water/chemical mix. I’m not sure what pros would advise to use on concrete but a quick Google search would tell you. Grinding stains won’t help, it actually might make the stains worse by spreading/embedding them more into the concrete. If you grind away enough to remove the stain totally you’re going to have a bunch of low spots you need to go back and fill with a resurfacer so you added a bunch of extra work and spots the paint needs to hide. It’s way more work.
How many colors does this product come in?? Also, what’s the price of a five gallon bucket? Is this a cementious product and does it require a sealer afterwards?
Can you use this to seal concrete in a basement? i seem to to have the concrete top turns to a dust/powder. i vaccuum, mop dry and put concrete paint. and in a year or two it lifts up.
As a guy who owns a pressure washing company, it may be wise to invest into down streaming and better pressure washer/ surface cleaner. Your job will got 10x faster
Looks beautiful. Now they need to paint the diving board !

Looks great! I have a front porch that needs to be done this way instead of tearing it out.

Looks good brand new
I would tape the pvc joints before painting. Pull tape to expose the white strips.
Agreed. Idk why everyone paints over joints
Looks amazing.
Love it lads . Great job . Lovely colour of grey . 👌

You guys are great I love the paint im gonna get started with my Patio soon
Is this paint coating slip resistant around the pool when wet?
Another job well done man
Great question. Or may can you add sand? Be nice if we get an answer

@@tomt652 Yes...Deck Seal is built to be able to add anti-slip sand.
Great job !!!! and that's a nice big pool !!!
Well done thank keeping it simple and honest 1 step finish all you need
Looks beautiful

Great job way different look. Makes this area very nice...Good video. Stay safe and healthy thanks 😊
Looks great!

Hey Mike! Can you use a urethane caulking over an epoxy flooring to seal the joints in the concrete?
Looks amazing! 💯 Thanks for sharing this!
Good 👍job 👏👍
Would this be okay to use in a garage ?

What about next year when you have to power wash the grime off if it ?
Cool, nice job Mike.
Looks great..love it.
looks cool, pretty essy to use. I like it
Looks good
What did you use in a previous video fir prep. It was a small grinder hooked up to a shop vac?
You said the same thing about the product from sherwin Williams. Sherecrete do which product did you use on your basketball court for 7 years. Just curious.
I thought in another video you said you used sher-Crete on your basketball court?
Great color contrast. Looks like an oasis in Maine now
great job
First comment !! Great video !!
Where do you buy that deck coating??

You can add grit to this. Look up "shark grip" from Sherwin Williams
@@MikeDayConcrete TY for the response Mike! I will definitely look into that.
@@MikeDayConcrete how/where do I buy this Deck Seal paint? Just went to the website but there does not seem to be a purchase option.
Thank you 🙏🏽
Will that paint eventually start flaking bubbling or chipping off of the concrete
Amazing thanks so much. Does it come in white? Is it slippery?

What is the kind of paint that you used on this pool deck? You mentioned how much you like it for resurface and maintenance..thanks
Denise….Denver
I like it and I want to do it
Do you guys do this service or know someone who can do it?

which color is this one??
Is this good on new concrete walls?
There is latex on my concrete pool deck , Can I go over with this product ? It’s not smooth either almost like a know out texture . Thanks
Looking good.

Man this sounds like great advice! Can you expand on what you mean about the hairline cracks and breezing them down etc?
@@WayneStratton
Breezing to me is a very light pass over cured materials with a grinder.
In this case, the cured epoxy.
Which cleaner condition did you use
I think it would look a little better if it had the tenth of a limestone color. It does look beautiful and what a difference.
What color was used?
Thanks for this lesson. Do you know if this paint has any cooling feature to it? On hot summer days would this help to prevent the surface from being too hot for bare feet?
It looks like you painted right over those drainage areas those white strips that should’ve been covered. 😮
Can it go over xylene painted concrete?
Have to prepare a patio repainting it and have stuck paint and don’t want to spend a lot of money. Any suggestions?
What do you patch it with?
Is that a non skid paint ?? And is it good for aluminum deck ?? Let me know thanks 👍👍
What color is this
Can this be used on stamped concrete?
Could this be used for refinishing a tub and tile?
I dint have a power washer, what can I do?
Just rent one.
6/8/2024 - What color tint did you use?
I like the work. Like to get into it. I have a work video
Nice job. I guess this quality is Day by Day for you guys.😎🇨🇦👍

We’ve done our porch like 5 times in 12 yrs because it simply gets destroyed and flakes off.
I think I need an epoxy. What would you suggest?
Looks amazing! What kind of paint/coating and brand did you guys use? 5 stars*****

Is this surface slippery
We have painted our pool deck but it gets SSSOOO slippery when wet.
Do you know if this product is slippery as well when wet?
How does this hold up to the pool chemicals?
What’s the color that your using ?
6:55 100-150sqFT GL first coat 200SqFt 2nd coat
