    Thank you 1000 times. In comparison with most teachers, your explanations are crystal clear. And you talk in such a fun and relaxing way. Also, the mistakes you make on purpose and correct them afterwards are very helpful in order to understand how SPSS works. Thanks again!

    Thank you! My class instructor is a blooming fool not providing us with any explanation whatsoever but collecting a paycheck every 2-weeks from the public funding. You actually teach this software!

    8:38 - 8:43 is WILD. I watched the who last 8-part series from 6 years ago, and just realized he had a more recent series so I'm starting over. I wish more professors where like Dr. Daniel.

    Thank you SO much. You're genuinely a lifesaver when my professor refused to help me because my Mac couldn't run SPSS 25. I have a quiz coming up and for the first time in this class, I feel confident.

    Entering an empty space for missing String variables does not work. I guess it depends on the software version. Any workaround?

  • @kethavathnaik8401
    @kethavathnaik8401 Год назад

    what's the difference with results when there's a missing value and giving a discrete value 999? The results shown were still same in both cases right? I did not get the purpose of this

  • @yassercaghoreishi1178
    @yassercaghoreishi1178 3 года назад

    Hello Dr. Todd, regarding the missing data if we have more than one missing data, could we coded them by only one character such as 999 or for the other one we should use different codes such as 998 and so on... Thank you,

    • @ResearchByDesign
      @ResearchByDesign  3 года назад +1

      You would use the same code "999" for all missing values in that variable. You COULD use a "998" for a different variable, but I would not recommend it. Use the same code for all missing values in all variables and keep it consistent. Good luck.

    Hi there! Fabulous video, very helpful and helped with absolute first timers.
    On the last step when I am saving my demo work, it saves as a pdf file instead as a spss. and even when its on pdf it doesn't open :(
    what can I do?

    • @ResearchByDesign
      @ResearchByDesign  3 года назад +1

      Its probably because you are in the Viewer (output window) instead of the data. Click on the dataset so that you are looking at numbers. Go to File > Save as, and that should offer to save as a SAV file. Good luck

    • @ribenariri7764
      @ribenariri7764 3 года назад

      @@ResearchByDesign I was on the dataset, did the entire process on the data window. I just adjusted the settings so that it opens with SPSS instead of opening with pdf. Its still in pdf, unable to save as SAV file, but I'm able to view and access with SPSS. Would this pose as a problem or would I be okay here?

      Yes, just uploaded the #3 video about importing data. It will go live next week. The rest are in production and the 8 part series will be out in time for fall semester (mostly in July and early August). The #1 video will be up last because it contains footage from the rest. Hope that you check them out.
