Its Allman at his finest! Believable, honest, truly a southern man's version of a song! Just a Gem!
Fortunate enough to have seen the Allman Brothers in Rapid City S.D. 1990 during the 50th Sturgis Black Hills Rally. WOW, what a memory.....
The phrasing in the guitar lick which starts at 2:57 is just gorgeous. How do you even come up with that!
Hard to believe you have been gone 6 years. I miss you Gregg
Gregg Allman's music will live on with his fantastic voice. RIP Gregg Allman 🙏😥 You are greatly missed ✌️❤️🌼
They were before their time. Awesome. Its so good they be smiling while playing.
Diamond Webb u are cursed
I wish in the late sixties, 70's and 80's too, how The Allman Bros. could've had better access to nutrition and experts/life coaches for well being. Gregg could still be pouring his heart out today. And be in a happy marriage ~ kimie
America's National Treasure!! RIP~
I am totally in love with the Allman Brothers band just fucking fantastic amazing music .
Gainesville was always one of A Band’s favorite destinations
i fell in love with gregg allmans voice - he was an angel in my life
Love it, every member of the band was on point. Love Gregg playing his Hammond B3 and the big ass lesslie spinning in the background.
Undoubtedly the best white blues man singer. Gonna be missed.
Greg, Steve Winwood and Jame's Dewar /Trower /
Ya, too bad he was a spineless snitch.
@@scottcarlon6318 I wouldn't judge if I were you,, I doubt you know all of the details anyway!! I wonder Sir... If you would come out as well as Gregg did having gone thru everything he went thru ??? A Great movie producer said in an interview 1 time " There are 3 sides to the truth" your side, the other person's side & then the TRUTH... Think about it !?!?!?!! Gregg was 1 of the BEST!!! UNLESS You Are Perfect ?? DON'T JUDGE,, !! 🍄❤️🍑🍄❤️🍑
If you know the Allman Brothers' work going back to the beginnings, when you hear Gregg's voice, you know it is him after one word sung. I was fortunate enough to see him in 1973 at Duke University on the Laid Back tour, third row, center stage. Gregg was definitely one of the greats.
To truly appreciate any type of art, it is best not to know the backstory of the artist.
Delbert McClinton is also tops
Gregg had an uncanny ability to reach way down deep into his raw feelings, drawing on a dark side of his past. Experience, etc.Truthful , anthropocentric abilities....
Yes, they were before their time. Incredible.
They were at the perfect time , so they gave their fans many years of music, they were formed in my hometown along with Lynyrd Skynyrd, Blackfoot and more , Jacksonville Florida.in 2018 the city put up a bronze plaque in front of the house where they were formed.
I totally agree they came along at the perfect time and I am so lucky to have been able to grow up listening to them. Rest in Peace Gregg Allman 😢 You are still missed and loved 💞✌️❤️🌼@@DavidSmith-uo9je
I agree with that comment about Gregory Allman is no doubt the greatest white blues singer ever!!!
I agree also. Grew up listening. 69 now and still love it.
still sound so great in the Eighties cant stop the music or the heat
still love this band!!
Dickey Betts.... Playing like a Boss, as always
Thank you Gregg.
If it wasn't for you, & your 88...I might've missed rock/blues/southen' boogie/& jazz...
And my old man borrowing (stealin' really! Lol), playin' your tapes, until Southbound (dad on keyz' ) whaled down the street...& Greggs voice MOVIN' 2generations with fingers snappin' & toes tappin'!
God Bless Brother Allman (and Family of course🤗😆) PEACE
What a great singer.. Great band
Trully a unique harmonic guitar style. Love the A frame pavilion.
Great cover by the ABB
So Awesome ❤❤❤
har...i was standing outside grants lounge macon ga ..greg came out dressed to the tens ..maybe 110 pounds ..jeans tailored to broomstick sized legs...said hi even though we weren't acquainted socially, ..he got on a triumph semi chopper ..had to kick start it ..i was amazed those skinny legs could do it ...second kick ..up and running ..3 second warm up..and full throttle down the street and through a light just turned red..going maybe 65 ..duh a microsecond later a cab goes sliding through the intersection ..he never slowed and through the next intersection with a red light now probly 85...and toward the warehouse districts and studio area..all this with a tiny drum brake on the front and after duane not too long ago had eaten a peach.. ..charmed life and great talent..duh...
This is one of our biggest influences !!!!!!!!
The audio is great, the song is great, Gregg is great...the video content is great...but, it is so clean, it looks like a backdrop...
Impressionante o quanto amo essa banda! Fico sem entender como eles foram tão incríveis...😍🤩🤩🤩
I really wish I was there ,Greggs hair is perfect too
Very good .i love 😊😊
That riff tho, damn!!!!!
If only...I woulda, shoulda, coulda! And Dickie in California Ranchwear...? Oh yyyeah! Clean gheetars, and a beefy "B3"!!! Thank you all, for years of great Music! Much love, ALL!

Wonderfully done
Purrrfect
RIP GREG 5/27 2017
I was there.............
"...and they're gettin' away with it" 🤣
Not another band like them.
Good Stuff Right There!
@ Michael Joyner....your last sentence, so true !
I don't know what Gregg was on, but he was on👍🏻
R.i.P Greg.
R.I.P. Dan Toler
Dangerous Dan
Dickey's Goldtop is legendary, but I believe I prefer his sound on his ES-335 through Soldano SLO 100 better.
Wish I'd been there. I'm a Gator grad. I was just down the road in Clearwater not knowing this show was going on. :-(
what a strange version when you have been playing the Dr. Feelgood version for 25 years! 😀
Dem white long haired country boys could play!!
fabulous version, check out the hard road album by the bluesbreakers featuring the legendary peter green, they also do a great job of this.
It's their song brother... This is the cover
It's a John Mayall number
@@shailendrasingh2016 it's written by Willie Cobbs
Wtf you need 2 drummer for
WTF do you know about the blues? They had 2 drummers because they were all about the rhythm and Jamoie often played a mad percussion set instead of the other drum set. This is Rock and Roll, not the Blues, it incorporates all other musical genres. Why do you bother to come here to criticise one of the best Rock and Roll bands of all time because you want to compare them to blues artist like Muddy Waters. News Flash, listen to almost any Blues artists like John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf, all those guys in the late 60's till the Allman Bros made it big, Duane was likrly playing slide on their recordings. They considered him to be one of the best slide players they had ever seen, and specifically asked for him to do their sessions. True Story, Duane used the money he made doing this session work to subsidize the band until they got a record deal, DUMB ASS HATER!!
Dig the look on Greg at 1:41 he’s sending to the bass player- ‘What you doing there boy? You bess be holding down the fort”..
Greg ripped him in his book, said he overplayed things
Great live version, when Greg was hot!
I think he's STILL hot !
Mr. Greggory L Allman was always hot! May he Rest in Peace ~🕊🕊💛
Always been hot! You obviously never saw him in person.
Damn girl! You shoulda!
@@ilovetomcaldwell You bet. I was "in love" with him for years and years.
💞.......
Goggle Allman Bros on Johnny Carson
ruclips.net/video/D2VUSqq3jls/видео.html Thanks I'll make it easier
Gregg Allman and Dickey Betts sons gonna put together a band
Duane would have called up all the boys....and said...what the hell are you all tryin to do here boys??..TAKE THAT DAM SYNTH OUT!!!
The synth sounds great, man!
Normally I would agree with synth remark, but it totally works! The synth players sound reminds me a lot of Jan Hammer who was playing with Jeff Beck around that time.
Dig it Dixie Trends style
HOLY SHIT THAT SMOKING KEYBOARD SOLO! Who was on the keys?
Jeff maybe Johnny Neel? I don't recognize him that young. He's a blind guy.
Pretty sure it's Mike Lawler.
Chuck Laverne Chuck the Vernon
not jan hammer?
Mike Lawler
Striking...stunned! "B3's" awww! Moma {RIP} already knows...yehaww! Let 'em eat him ALIVE! He deserves them...
Yeah Old Friends Dicky Betts RIP W.C Handy & James Marshall Hendrix & Duane Allman Sheryl Sibbald-Crow Married Blues guitarist The Red House Voodoo Chile Man The Greatest On Eath 5-7-2019 Cher Knows Us Chris F.W Sibbald!
Great performance. Not too keen on the synthesizers.
nice way to start that first guitar solo LOL..................
Who is that on them there keys boy? Wow
Also wondering that
In the video of this concert, someone said it’s Chuck Leavell.
in fact ..we all walked out on the show...
Is that Bob Weir?
Never knew Steve Irwin played bass before he was hunting crocodiles...
david 'rook'goldflies, had played with dickey in Great Southern. Underrated bassist IMO.
Lol
lets not 4get the great guitar licks goin on here.......Dan Toller and Dickey really made their mark here...but this was the year when i saw the brothers.in 82....about my 20th time back then.....that they made a big mistake for puttin that sick sounding synthesizer into the mix...we all felt sick inside when we heard that terrible sound...it would have made Duane...ROLL OVER IN HIS GRAVE... and so..they took a few years off and came back with a vengence in 86
They really came back in 1989, not in 1986.
Is that Johnny Neel on keyboardeds?
No. It's Mike Lawler. Johnny was playing keys with the ABB much later, from 1989-1991.
Somehow its just not the same without Duane out front.
Never was after they lost Duane and Berry..
How many times this great song has been covered?
Marshall Garcia Willie Cobbs' 85 birthday party is July 15, in Brinkley, Arkansas.
Davy Knowles does a fantastic cover!
Most folks don't know where this tune came from. Here is the original by the guy who wrote it: ruclips.net/video/ZsJMfYDUNCE/видео.html&ab_channel=hankgwe
all yall gotta admit dantoler was rippn a bit harder this whole show :0
I think I read in Alan Paul's book One Way Out that songs like You Don't Love Me were SPED UP to satisfy newer audiences of the 80's since so called Southern Music had become so unpopular. And this is another reason why the Allman Brothers Band decided to break up. They either had either change their sound to remain relevant and competitive or just break up and come back when they could perform blues inspired music in a manner that they were accustomed to. And as I think I read in a comment the baby boomers would later demand that radio stations return to a style of music that they liked. That age demographic and their money created classic rock radio stations and this nostalgia allowed the Allman Brothers to come back in 1989, first in a reunion tour with the band's box set and then with new albums. Anyway, thank God the music of the 80's faded away. It's not that all of the older music was great but there was so much music that came out in the 80's that simply couldn't touch music from the 70's.
A funny detail: zakk Wylde was hired for a tour.
His employment lasted 1, one, uno, night.
This is no Lynyrd Skynyrd!
Tapio Mäkeläinen amen
After Duane.... this is my Allman Bros! Sorry Derek
I really enjoyed the Haynes and woody lineup as well, especially live and added marc quinones on percussion,I was 15 when I 1st saw them live on the hoarde festival, back where it all begins album.
76-81/82 was a dark period for the band. Hardcore fans like myself pretend this never happened. Mike Lawler with his synth ruins a great song. Gregg, Dickey, and Butch surrounded by “C” level “talent”.
Somebody worked a good while on Gregg's hair for this show. It is very full, shiny, perfectly straight or laying as it is. Gregg's hair never looked this good on a show that wasn't going to be filmed. And Gregg's beard has a lot of brown hair in it here and for many, many years now it has just been blonde, a dye job like all of the hair Gregg has left, it's a dye job. Wish I had had Gregg's looks and hair. Some guys have all the luck and get all the girls. Me, I was blessed with ugliness and a high pitched voice. Yeah, a high pitched male voice, if that won't get the women what will? Sheesh. : (
,,, well talking shit about Gregg's looks certainly won't !!
Someone’s rushing it Betts? Probably all coked up watch Letterman version much better
Dickey Betts. Hell yeah. A greater guitarist than Duane. And better looking. Now Dickey IS allman.
Betts is a great guitarist. Greater than Duane ?
I beg to differ.
I'm looking for a eastern star baby
Much love an respect
Love me DES
My initial 😂 😍 😂
A star was born a couple yrs before me 😂 😍
Don't want to rain on anyone's parade but this just doesn't work compared to the original lineup with duane and berry, sorry
Dan Toler plays ok but he looks so uncomfortable on stage.
Barry Heninger
To play w/ the A-Bros you had to be good...Toler's solo was pretty horrible. Just saying.
John Mayall originally
Somehow its just not the same without Duane out front.
Mark Kinkel They have gone on to do so much since then. You must not do a lot of Allman Bros.
