I'm a senior in high school and just started hurdling. This video is by far the best hurdle video I've seen. Thank you for explaining everything so well and giving the reason behind the training not just how to do it!
Wonderful! I am getting back into coaching after taking a year off (time constraints) and this is just the refresher I need. Brings me back - appreciate you and the video!
My daughter is a freshman in high school, she ran hurdles in middle school but she wasn’t taught any techniques or form which resulted in hip injury and rolled ankles so now I’m trying to help her, never jumping a hurdle in my life, I’m so glad I came across your videos. Thank you so much!!
This is super helpful in simplifying everything! Question: we don't have a track surface. It's dirt--not even ledgepack, straight up dirt. It can get pretty solid if the weather is just right :) Our only other available surfaces are pavement or grass. I already discount height and distance, but I'm wondering if you would recommend sticking to the dirt track or is there any value in using one of the other surfaces? I can't even use the long jump pit, because it's "hilly" so that is a recipe for an ankle roll.

Thanks coach for the great video. Please do a 4 step or 5 step hurdling video for shorter hurdlers

I have done hurdle stuff on grass before. I wouldn't do pavement.
Great video. Do you do the tape for the 300 hurdles also for the 22 steps?
ARe there any specific drills for 300 hurdles that you could share?
For the acceleration test, are you saying their 8th step should be within a foot or 2 of the first hurdle marker?
Yes, for a non hurdle 8 step acceleration. 6-7 feet away when adjusting for a hurdle acceleration.
