I watched the entire video. As someone who doesn't own a concertina I found this very helpful. I still don't know why. I feel both confused and enlightened and it is quite a strange feeling. Thank you 🙏
This is my first two-handed song now, thank you so much, the tutorial was great! Seemed so easy at first but connecting the two hands really was on another level 😄 but i made it and it sounds really sweet :)
@@Indubitible_E honestly no, i tried to play one side until fluent, than the other, then combined them beat by beat. i hat a foot shell at some point which kinda helped to organize which button press belongs to which beat. The book is also very helpful because you can visually see which notes belong to which beat. Also important for learning a new instrument in general is to repeat and repeat and repeat, esspecially the parts which dont go very well. Muscle memory is everything!!! And don´t give up before you got it, because you will get it at some point and then it becomes a hell lot of fun! Have a nice day and consider letting me know when you made it, I will be here to celebrate! :)
A 30 button simply has another row on topo of these two. The keys you see here will therefore be the "bottom" rows (closest to your body, so to speak). Just ignore your extra rows and you'll be fine.

@@avau8974 Good to know! It has helped me a lot too.
2 months later, I spent 500€ on a 30-Button concertina 😄😄😭😭
were there any exercises you did to help with the hand coordination when combined?

Hey man, awsome stuff! i'd love to see more video's like this. I do find the right side a bit harder to follow but besides that great stuff!
Looks simple enough, this might be the one thing I work in for a while. Thanks
Just wanted to say thanks for this, as a result of this video I picked up the songbook as well!!
Thank you for posting this.
Hi. How much would I buy this type of a concertina for? We use them a lot in South Africa for the African masikandi (traditional) music.
I payed mine 17Euros, but a more reasonabile price would be betreen 300€ and 1000€
Damn: I may have to start playing the concertina again...
Very Good Video!
is it true that one button will make 2 different notes depending on if you are pushing or pulling?
Totally
Hey, isn't the book "Pirate songs for concertina" made for 30 buttons concertina ? How did you manage to play some of the songs ?
Many of the songs are fine with just a 20 buttons. On each song, a small diagram will show what buttons are necessary.
Is the book also for 20 button concertina?
Absolutely! There are many tunes you can play on the 20 button, such as this one.
How would this transfer to a 30 button concertina?
A 30 button simply has another row on topo of these two. The keys you see here will therefore be the "bottom" rows (closest to your body, so to speak). Just ignore your extra rows and you'll be fine.
my fingers just convulse at the coordination i just cant seem to do it without spazzing out
brilliant.
I can't tell what buttons your pressing
I know it's not easy on video. You can buy the book with tablatures though, they help a lot!
