This is very similar to a recipe that I got a while back; they look good! What I did with mine is to sub out 1 cup of oats for a drained can of beans [I like black eyed peas, but anything with a relatively thin skin should do]. Mash the beans with a fork, and add at the same time as the oats. I found it gives the sausages more substance; it makes the recipe more meaty and satiating. But it's amazing how the spices really make the recipe very sausage like! I stopped eating meat 15 years ago; I can't see eating meat sausage when we have recipes like this.
*I just made this for the first time today and it was KILLER!!! I gave up meat over 2 years ago and I have missed having things like sausage and biscuits and gray!! If you take this recipe and fry it in olive oil to brown it real good, and then put it in the oven at 350° for about 15 minutes, it makes the crisp crumbles PERFECT for making biscuits and sausage gravy!! Thank you so MUCH for giving me this wonderful recipe that I have been able to adjust the seasonings to my liking!! This is an absolutely FANTASTIC recipe of deliciousness!!!* 🥰😋🥰
Thanks for including ingredients and measurements in the description. Very excited about this. I think I’m gluten intolerant and this might help as a replacement for fake meat alternatives.
Thank you! I’ve been looking for a recipe since my favorite store bought vegan sausage patties started using soy, which causes problems. These look so easy to make that I can’t wait to try. ❤
These look great! Always looking for meat alternatives as I have a family history of Cancer so need to avoid the BLV, igf-1 and pesticides in meat. Thanks so much for sharing
We eat them like breakfast sausage patties! We also add them to "sausage style" gravy. What do you meat "sliders"? I think of sliders as something that you eat on a bun like a burger.
Not to be argumentative, but used to eat sausage patties all the time growing up. You can buy breakfast links or patties at the grocery store. They use sausage patties on breakfast biscuit sandwiches.
In Scotland they are! Also come in a rectangle shape ("square sausage"). Cylindrical sausages in a skin, we call "links". I heard from a friend that in parts of the US, they have many typical Scottish style foods. I guess where Scottish people settled once upon a time)
You sound exactly like my dad before he got sick--called plant based diet garbage too! Now thankfully his health is better and he hasn't had any meat or eggs or very much dairy in almost two years. Anyway have a nice weekend

@@SomethingBetterTogether If you do, let me know what you think!
Also even healthier since beans are what all the Blue Zones (healthiest, longest lived populations) have in common!
Great idea. I'll add some rice too bec rice & beans together make for complete protein. 😊

They are oat sliders. Sausages are a different thing.

@@SomethingBetterTogether Sausages are not patties.

@@kirstypollock6811 I honestly don't even know what Scottish foods are! What are some traditional favorite Scottish foods?
Eww a crunch in a sausage
Don’t knock it till you try it!! 😂
Why is it that vegans keep trying to make garbage taste like meat and we don’t try try and to make meat taste like veggies? Serious question
We like the taste and flavors. We just don’t like the fat cholesterol, hormones, etc
It gives me something to cook for my meat eater friends

Didn't know oats were garbage.
Oats are garbage? I think you're kinda outing yourself as a picky eater. Don't worry, you'll outgrow that when you become an adult
