  • This veggie burger is so tasty, even carnivores will love them! The ingredients are so simple you probably already have them. Original recipe does have gluten, but watch the video to find out how to make them gluten free!
    Full printable RECIPE: icookandpaint.com/the-best-ve...
    INGREDIENTS
    50 grams carrot half medium
50 grams celery 1 small stalk
    100 grams onion 1 medium
    1 clove garlic
    1½ teaspoons salt
    2 cups quick cooking oats
    ½ cup whole wheat flour
    1 teaspoon Italian herbs dry
    ½ teaspoon black pepper
1 - 19 fl. oz. can black beans drained but not rinsed
    1 teaspoon soy sauce
    INSTRUCTIONS
Using a food processor or a box grater, pulse or shred the carrot, celery, onion and garlic. Add the salt and stir together well, mashing the mixture so the salt can draw out liquid from the vegetables. Set aside.
In a large bowl combine oats, whole wheat flour, Italian herbs and black pepper. Mix until well combined. Add beans, vegetable mixture and soy sauce. Mash the beans with a fork before mixing everything together. Do not mash the beans too much. The mixture will be stiff, so feel free to add a spoonful or 2 of water. Do not add too much though or the burgers will be mushy.
Cover mixture and refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight. If you are in a hurry, at least 1 hour is necessary.
When you are ready to cook the burgers, shape the mixture into 6 patties. Heat 1/4 inch oil in a skillet on medium high and sear the burgers on each side for 45 seconds to 1 minute. When both sides are golden brown, reduce the heat to the lowest temperature and cover with a lid.
Cook low and slow for 15 minutes on each side, checking frequently to prevent burning. By the end of cooking, the burgers should be slightly darker than when they were seared and cooked thoroughly. Serve on buns with your favorite condiments.

    • @MaxMustermann-zr6kf
      @MaxMustermann-zr6kf Год назад +20

@@user-zx5xw4yw2e i don't think it matters much. Finely chopped, sautéed button mushrooms work fine for example!
I often use rehydrated and sautéed shitake since it's a practical pantry staple that lasts forever and I also like to add some hydration water for umami taste.
Just make sure, they are cut small enough but not mush. Mushrooms give patties that meaty, rubbery texture in a much more natural way than methylcellulose which nowadays often is in cheap meat replacement but has no nutritional value.

You are doing a great job for the society❤️ I was a hard core non vegetarian till I visited a farm and witnessed the horror of the dairy industry. The cow is inseminated painfully every 6 months so that calf is born. The calves are taken away immediately without a single drop of milk. The male calves are transported to the slaughterhouse to be killed on the very day. This process continues for some years till the cow is completely exhausted and later sold for meat. That’s the milk we consume. I literally had sleepless nights after watching the cows, their udders become so big they can’t even move. And they run to save their babies from going to the slaughterhouse.
Thank you for these recepies so that people can choose compassion in their plate instead of pain.

This is why, if a person wants to eat meat and dairy, they need to buy from farms that do not have mass productions - they are the ones killing the environment as well. Grass fed meat and dairy from a humane farm is the way to go. I eat yogurt on occasion, but it must be grass fed or I won't eat it.

I clicked on this video because we didn't have any meat in the house but wanted to make spaghetti. I'm a meat eater so this was the first time my wife and I had ever tried something like this and we didn't have high hopes (even went through the effort to keep them away from the spaghetti sauce just in case 🤣). This ended up being so good that we're planning more meals around this as a protein base. Honestly such a phenomenal video and right to the point. Fantastic work my friend. P.S. we made meatballs out of them and plan on making Salisbury steak tomorrow. We subbed bell pepper for the celery and seasoned with Tony Chachere's creole seasoning, salt, pepper and garlic powder

You are absolute correct; they are not mushy and so not fall apart.
I divided the batch into three. In one I added taco spices and made a crumble. To another part I added more Italian spices and some anise (when I use to make Italian sausage, I would add some anise or fennel seed) and made meatballs. The third I made burgers just like yours. I cooked then in a cast iron pan until brown then placed them my air fryer for about 10 minutes. I added the crumbles to a salad for lunch today. It was so good and crunchy. The meatball is heated in pasta sauce and guess what, they don't fall apart. Love this recipe. I forgot to add, I didn't have any celery, so I used grated cauliflower.

Many thanks for posting the recipe. I am definitely going to make this, as so many veggie-burgers are dry and taste like cardboard, and I am not very keen on some of the fake meat offerings.
Oats are amazing though, and a good source of slow-release carbohydrate.
I was once cooking a pasta sauce for a meal with friends but it was much too watery, so in desperation I sprinkled a couple of handfuls of porridge oats into the mix which worked brilliantly at soaking up the excess liquid.
Whilst we were eating it, one of the girls said "David, I thought you were Vegan?". I said "I am." So she said well why have you put chicken-mince in the sauce?"
She was totally amazed when I told her that it was really porridge oats.

All soy, unless fermented, is highly toxic. Tofu is not fermented. Fermented tofu is called chao. Best to use organic tempeh, which is always fermented, And, with all foods, organic whenever possible. All other foods, not organically certified, are saturated, preharvest, in RoundUp (glyphosate), a neurotoxin/carcinogen, and/or are toxic unassimilable frankenfood. Only 10 mega corporations control world food/beverage. Chronic illness is not natural. ALL ILLNESS, including cancer, is caused by toxicity/deficiency, NOT INFECTION, preventable, NATURALLY. Canola oil, like unfermented soy, highly toxic, and pervasive in food supply, not by happenstance. Chronic illness yields immeasurable profit and control.. Be responsible. Know what you are eating and drinking. All this info is easily verifiable. Ignorance is a choice. Infection theory is a Rockefeller globalist fraud. Connect the dots. Hegelian dialectic is another critical point of research. It is the globalists' age old modus operandi. In this age of info, there is no excuse for ignorance, It makes you vulnerable to a corrupt system that coerces our acquiescence via deception/inversion/illusion via media. Seek truth, if not for yourself, for your children/grandchildren and future generations. Follow the money.

Now good evening I cook and paint channel, first and fore most I want to thank you for your simplistic video, it was very easy to follow, and I thoroughly enjoyed the content.
Moreover, I was surprised that celery could taste so good in a burger 🍔 🍔, and thank you profusely for this tip. Also, I want to let you know, that I hopefully will try to make these burgers again with oaks and maybe 🤔 🤔 beans too, however I had a need to use up some of my birthday rice and used this instead of the oaks as well as gluten free flour a bit following your instructions of two cups of flours, and it came out absolutely delicious, well the first batch I used spring onions as a vegetable as I had no onions, so I used the vegetables I had, and it was amazing, and more importantly you are right, leaving it in the fridge to settle the dough, gives the dough time to marinade with all the spices and seasonings 🧂 🧂 as well as I found that when I cooked my first batch today 2nd October 2021, it was nice a firm as burgers 🍔 🍔 should be, so thank you for these tips, this gesture is much appreciated.
Lastly, I am now making my last batch as I had a lot of rice left over from august 2021, so I will definitely be leaving the dough to set overnight this time round and will let you know how this process has gone for me shortly.

Tried it and they are yummy! Had a heck of a time getting them to cook all the way through, though. Turns out you can’t do the thing you can with meat, where you add water to the pan and cover it… that just makes the burgers soggy! I got the hang of it by my third batch, though.
I used a food processor instead of a grater. And I added barley grass powder for a more complete protein.
Overall, very happy with this recipe! And my kids were skeptical, but they actually liked the burgers too. This will be much cheaper than meat. So it’s a win.

I'm thinking mushroom powder would work in place of the mushroom. I've made veggie burgers with cooked grated beets in the mix that add a nice red meat color. Eggs or flax egg make good binders without flour. Oats and oat flour work well too.

You could actually tear the strings out of the celery before you even start. I read it in a short story in the 3th grade.
I remember reading a short story from an American girl‘s perspective about a Japanese family they once entertained for dinner during WWII and when they got to the celery they started ripping out the strings before they ate it.
lol I don’t actually know if my friends in Japan do this… I actually haven’t thought to ask until today. 😅 But I’ve often done it since because it’s so satisfying and leaves the celery perfectly crunchy. 😍 No strings attached. I wonder if anyone else from that one third grade class in Iowa tried it. Such a Hey Arnold! grade. You should try it sometime. According to the short story from long ago, the Japanese have been onto something lol.
