      @@feelinguru-vywiththepaingu9808 Not quite, but close. The USPS is the only carrier allowed to carry official government documents. Removing USPS service from an area, or greatly reducing its delivery or pick-up times, means that people either wouldn't be able to receive their voting mail and mail-in ballot, or it would be counted late (if at all). The elections are in November if I'm not mistaken and I can imagine the Donner pass would see bad weather in October and November already, leading to either the delay of mail-in ballots, or, if he would deny USPS service to certain areas, deny people the chance to vote at all.

    • @HariSeldon.
      @HariSeldon. 9 дней назад +1

      Jacky Rosen seems to be asking the US Postal Service to serve her 225K constituents with special treatment. She demands irrelevant information about seniors and veterans. How is this relevant? The USPS serves 332M Americans, not just Rural Reno. She should include funding for this special service and see how that goes. Her nitpicking even of his pronunciation of Nevada evokes memories of Barbara Boxer when she admonished General Michael Walsh for calling her “ma’am” instead of Senator, stating, “I worked hard to get that title.” Like the Boxer incident, this is a politically motivated attack. She is obviously grilling a Democratic Postmaster for political purposes. BTW, I am NOT a Democrat.
      If she is serious about the USPS, then she should realize that it is an anachronism, funded largely by junk mail and is not sustainable in a 21st century environment without huge funding and a complete overhaul of its business model. This woman represents petty politics at its worst.

      @@foxmancometh If her question was auposed to be about how those two groups could be affected by late mail in ways different than other people, that’d be true, but she then she really should have phrased it differently. Of the four people I’ve seen react to it so far, three have not interpreted it that way. And it wouldn’t account for her asking about vets.

    • @feelinguru-vywiththepaingu9808
      @feelinguru-vywiththepaingu9808 6 дней назад

      @@Mr_Flerb It does concern vets, as well. In the 1980s, Active Duty disabled were medically retired, as was my husband. We have been provided an insurance plan, but my husband can use the local VA hospital. Too bad they don't prescribe two of his medications. For several years, until early 2023, we were required to get our prescriptions through the mail, or the insurance plan would not cover it. Things like antibiotics were the exception, though, if there were refills, refills had to be received through the mail. As it is now, we have the choice of the mail order pharmacy or pay three times more than the mail order price at Walgreens. Many vets and their families get monthly payments and prescriptions through the mail, all the time.
      Incidentally, I live in Reno. Jacky Rosen is 100% correct about Donner Pass.

      @chikarahokage5536 what are you trying to relate? Punctuation and pronunciation makes a difference between a question or statement. I don't care about spelling. I can Cypher that out.
      The problem with the postal service going down is. That it helps keep costs down on Shipping. As the postal service is supposed to be nonprofit. Making UPS and FedEx keep prices lower. Having the competition to the service in charge of it is putting the fox in the henhouse. You wouldn't as the owner of dunking doughnuts to control the management of Krispy cream.

    Our mail service here in Coastal Washington State has been so dismal since this smug, arrogant man was put in this position. Two years ago, all of our Coastal representatives to Congress launched a federal inquiry into why our service was so unsatisfactory. They were stonewalled repeatedly by DeJoy. Finally, they went public with their complaints and enlisted other states' representatives to join them. THAT is why we are hearing about this now. AND consider we have an election in SIX MONTHS.
