I never met my uncle because he gave his life at 18 years at the Gothic Line in Italy. His body lies there still. My grandmother lost her husband (WW1 Mustard Gas), her son, and an injured son. She stopped my uncle TWICE as he signed up under age and she reported it. But within 4 months of his 18 th birthday he was dead. Just thinking of her suffering makes me very angry to anyone around the world angling for fascism. So many young lives lost to stop it in WW2. This is OFFENSIVE to so many military families around the world. How DARE they? Trump a coward was able to avoid service because he had money. Someone quite possibly died in his place. Trump is a sociopath and only cares about him. Americans MUST MOBILIZE!!!!

My father fought in WWII. He was at D-Day, but rarely spoke of it, not wanting to view himself as "special" or in any way more important than any of his comrades-in-arms. He too signed up under age, forging his mother's signature granting permission to join the Army. Needless to say, over the years, I heard A LOT about the importance of my FREEDOM AND INDEPENDENCE! My father would want nothing to do with this current republican party; he would be thoroughly ashamed and angry at what they have become. To say that this republican party is "NOT your father's republican party" is a grand understatement! Project 2025 is written evidence of the fascism the republican party plans to inflict upon Americans; it's all there in the "Leadership Mandates." Thank you Lawrence for your program this evening. My father served in WW2 and was proud of his sevice in the Marines. He was buried in his uniform per his request and we had no tie for the uniform. We went to the local Marine barracks where we live and a soldier gave his tie to us to be placed with my father. He would be 104 years old this year. He was buried with full honors and when Taps were played we were all reminded of his sacrifice as a young man. He made it home and we were taught to respect our country. Now we live with individuals who are determined to create an Authoritarian Republican State by 2025. These people cannot even fly the flag upright. So beyond disgusting. If you have the chance to visit the beautifully kept cemeteries, and other tributes to D-day, they are moving - a mix of crosses, stars of David, a few crescent moons but mostly the sheer scale of them - you would be welcomed.

When i was a young officer in the USMC, I was honored to meet a fellow Marine who had fought at Bella Wood. When Trump called the fallen Marines at Aisne-Marne American Cemetery suckers. My dad fought in the Pacific War as part of a bomber crew in the Army Air Corps. He passed away at age 88. It is impressive that so many of the Greatest Generation made it to their late 90s and even over 100. God bless every one of the men and women - both American and allied - who helped rid the world of evil back then.

My dad survived the battle of the bulge, although it did change his life forever. He earned a purple heart but lost his left leg. My dad passed away on December 8th, 2017, at the age of 91. I think I understand why they never talk about it. If we had experienced something so harrowing, so life altering and so personal, it would be difficult to find someone, other than a fellow veteran, that could actually and genuinely relate to our experience. When I do hear a veteran open up about the experience of war, I never say much and carefully engage with respect for the veteran's experience. I served in the U.S. Army Signal Corp as a 31V10 (1980-88), but did not see combat. So, like most people, I feel the need to be respectful and reserved in these rare exchanges with combat veterans.

His ship the USS Wolsey DD 437 was off the coast on D-Day defending our troops from attack by sea. Even though I never met him since he passed before I was born. I’m so proud of his service. My first boss flew 35 B-17 combat missions. He received the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart medals, among others. He passed at 83 in 2007. I'm glad he didn't have to suffer the abomination that is trump. Thank you for your bravery, Doctor Mick.

My dad was a paratrooper on Dday. Survived only to lose a leg and arm at Bastogne. Thanks to him and all that fought against fascism.

Thank you Lawrence for your program this evening. My father served in WW2 and was proud of his sevice in the Marines. He was buried in his uniform per his request and we had no tie for the uniform. We went to the local Marine barracks where we live and a soldier gave his tie to us to be placed with my father. He would be 104 years old this year. He was buried with full honors and when Taps were played we were all reminded of his sacrifice as a young man. He made it home and we were taught to respect our country. Now we live with individuals who are determined to create an Authoritarian Republican State by 2025. These people cannot even fly the flag upright. So beyond disgusting. If you have the chance to visit the beautifully kept cemeteries, and other tributes to D-day, they are moving - a mix of crosses, stars of David, a few crescent moons but mostly the sheer scale of them - you would be welcomed.
We all need to vote blue and keep America free to honor these men and women who fought so hard to do the same.

My dad survived the battle of the bulge, although it did change his life forever. He earned a purple heart but lost his left leg. My dad passed away on December 8th, 2017, at the age of 91. He never gave up even at the end. He worked 2 jobs to support us. I never heard him complain. He never really talked about the war to me. Traitor Trump is just that a traitor!!!!

I think I understand why they never talk about it. If we had experienced something so harrowing, so life altering and so personal, it would be difficult to find someone, other than a fellow veteran, that could actually and genuinely relate to our experience. When I do hear a veteran open up about the experience of war, I never say much and carefully engage with respect for the veteran's experience. I served in the U.S. Army Signal Corp as a 31V10 (1980-88), but did not see combat. So, like most people, I feel the need to be respectful and reserved in these rare exchanges with combat veterans.

THIS is how the media should be utilizing it's power to inform! Growing up, I remember seeing short newsreels before every movie of these brave men and women ... and that was on top of learning about these events in school. The tagline says Trump didn't understand D-Days "bravery and devotion to duty". No. It's not that he doesn't understand, he doesn't care. He lives in a deluded world of 1. He's the only person who matters. He'll pull you into his world as a means to enrich and prop up his facade of grandiosity and importance, but he'll never enter the real one.
