If you have no power to that or switch it’s the gen module if all fuses are good..

That's exactly what it was. I replaced it and everything worked great.

OK my fuse is not blown and will not go into four-wheel-drive just used it a week ago worked fine so do you think the motor is not good on a 2004 ford excursion

hi my name is Larry my issue is the opposite from your issue my question to you could it be my motor on the side when I turn the 4 by 4 on it does not click in but I done what you said and unplugged it at the bottom then it clicks in but does not want to go back to 2 wheel drive so could that be the motor cuz the fuse is good

Sounds like the transfer case motor...... I bought mine for $120 at oreilys... lifetime warranty.

The last thing to check if it's not the motor... it may be the module... but it sounds like the transfer case motor

I have a 7.3 but the same transfer case, no 4x4 light on the dash, motor wouldnt work. had my batteries disconnected the other day and the ECU un plugged ( was replacing injectors) and when I hooked every thing back up just for the hell of it I tried my 4x4, IT WORKED! was stoked my 4wd was working again. took the truck down the road to try the new injectors, the 4X4 light flashed up on my dash for a second (with the knob in 2wd position) when I got to where I was going tryed the 4wd and it wasn`t working again! Any ideas? im stumped!

Either your module or transfer case has an electrical glitch... used module on Ebay about $50. New transfer case $120 at oreillys. I would change out module first.. it's cheaper. Then reevaluate

I did not have the same issue you had.
But I do need to change my transfer case motor.
When you replace yours did any fluid come out?
Just wondering if I should be prepared with a drain pan.

Mine would have been only transfer case but .. I decided to put. 30amp fuse in the slot where it requires 10amp.. yup.. idiot!!!.. that 30amp blew out the module.... lesson learned. Dont force and issue....
