One of the most elaborate workout videos I have ever seen. Love how you really focus on the little things. I learned more in this video than hundreds of other videos I have watched about legs. Awesome job and well developed.
Trust me you don't haha. The chafing is horrendous. Once when I upped my cardio (was a powerlifter way back when) I chaffed everything on the inside above mid thigh... Everything. Pants just aren't built for massive legs. I had to get tailor made running shorts.
Been watching u since 2 and ahalf years now .. Lemme tell u steve u changed my whole life and u made me abetter person .. Thank u for every thing and u'll always be my mentor and my inspiration
Steve, thanks for going in depth in your explanation of form and why it's important to work that muscle and prevent injury, it's a huge help. Keep it coming!
Thanks for all the videos Steve. Since watching your videos at the start of the year I have gone from 92kg to 64kg and now leaning up and eating more but healthier. Your an inspiration so thankyou! Keep up the videos and snapchat vlogs :) XD
I love to see a guy with big legs! Makes such a difference, usually guys seem to be only obsessed with upper body and Hide their skinny twigs with long shorts. I hate that. Strong legs strong foundation 👌
So much stupid broscience in this video. Here's a list: -"Charles is great at breaking those down, trying to make them smaller, tighter" can only mean that Charles is good at somehow coaching someone how to tone their legs, which is a myth busted way too often. -"Working the vastus medialis, the outer sweep of the quad" implies that you can isolate certain parts of the quadriceps with different training methods. Not true. The quads work in unison to extend the knee linearly. Any variation on knee extension, which one might think is something like changing the width of your squat, doesn't actually work different parts of the quads. It just places the force more or less on different muscle groups, usually your hip abductors. -"Get them just a lot tighter" is Charles implying that you can tone the body. You can't. Muscles either hypertrophy or atrophy when changing in size. Muscle density does not change with different training methods. Various bodyfat %'s can give the illusion of a bulkier or more toned muscle. A few others I'm too lazy to go over..... How Charles Glass has been able to become one of the most renowned bodybuilding coaches is beyond me. You can't watch a single video without him saying something incredibly stupid and not true. It just goes to show that literally anyone can give someone with crazy genetics and usually on steroids a stupid amount of volume and exercise variation to make them incredibly sore. No matter what, the client will feel incredibly sore and attribute it to something magical about his terrible coaching. I'm surprised people like Ian McCarthy haven't called him out on it.
You are absolutely right scientifically, however I don't think that is the reason why people hire Charles. Charles gets them to do the sbit they otherwise would not be doing en makes them work very hard. And for some odd reason people enjoy it with Charles his style, probably because of the wide variety of exercises he uses. The result: a very balanced physique. I guess there is just something about working with him making people not care about the broscience.; he gets you the results. I guess sometimes broscience has his place, making people believe it works is sometimes the best method (the power of the mind is scientifically proven to a certain extend).
But isn't it possible to isolate certain parts of the quads when stretching? You can do the same with calves. So why wouldn't you be able to target those parts when contracting the muscles?
I agree with everything but your second point - There is no evidence to suggest the the fibres in a specific muscle don't react differently to different approaches of contraction. For example the short and long head of the biceps can be worked with a focus on either depending on hand placement and contraction. The same goes for the quadriceps muscle group.
Isn't vastus medialis, specifically its distal fibers, emphasized in the last 10-20 degrees of knee extension? Couldn't find the quote in the video but could be what they are referring to.
hey yo Steve, just an fyi with Stance socks, the logo goes on the inside. so when you sit down and cross the ankle over the top of the knee it shows. good workout today!!
I believe these high volume leg sessions will grow your legs. Go running long runs every other day, and when your joints and ligaments are fit for it go every day, for tight legs.
First off all! All you guys have tooooooo much time on your hands to make bad comments.! I'm just looking at the comments to see the number of haters steve cook has! It's pretty funny! But at least he's doing something for his life and help your life to be the healthiest you can be .! @stevecook keep it up!
Steve, can you name some brands of those fancy "short" gym shorts you always rock? I don't mean the gymshark ones as it is obvious, rather those without a a visibile brand logo

He looks like a G.
You should definitely come back to Boise for a few days!
I believe these high volume leg sessions will grow your legs. Go running long runs every other day, and when your joints and ligaments are fit for it go every day, for tight legs.

I ain't no expert Steve but wouldn't the best way to shrink your legs be to not work them out at all?
There's something satisfying watching Steve workout, no homo
Which shoes are those?

I am definitely trying this one out! Love you Steeeve
Hi
First off all! All you guys have tooooooo much time on your hands to make bad comments.! I'm just looking at the comments to see the number of haters steve cook has! It's pretty funny! But at least he's doing something for his life and help your life to be the healthiest you can be .! @stevecook keep it up!

7:01 when Charles gives you that look you better not disappoint
Did you do anything specific for leg mass other than the classic extension/bsquats, before this style or training?
*Steve Cook* What is that beige bomber jacket you got? Awesome workout btw!

You're the bomb, big man.
Are we gonna see a Lewis review yet? Would love to hear your thoughts about the book!
Steve, can you name some brands of those fancy "short" gym shorts you always rock? I don't mean the gymshark ones as it is obvious, rather those without a a visibile brand logo
