I've been barbering for nearly 40 years now. I'm now a licensed Master Barber. I teach as well...privately. I'm always keeping my eyes out for new talents and good, no great, educators. I just stumbled onto your RUclips site and I gotta give it to you. Very, very well done, Sir. I love your methodical methods and your enthusiasm. My absolute best to you. I'll be keeping my eyes out for more of your work.

I was getting so frustrated that i stopped cutting my boys hair, although they preferred my cuts over a real barber, my confidence was shot. Now i feel like, ok i finally made the connection from your instruction. Thank you so much.

I love how you said we should "trust the process" when fading with the guard steps, this is %100 truth! The most logical, simple technique on RUclips barber tutorial hands down. Also, the correct placement of the guard to the scalp was well-explained. Even though I am not a professional barber I do cut my own hair and that of my friends. I recently ordered a Wahl Magic Clip Cordless clipper so I can practice more with this tutorial, who knows perhaps barbing school in the future just because of people like you. Thank you so very much. Subscribed!!!

I've been cutting hair for 10 years and still have struggled with fades, I can do them but we're talking a good 30-40 minutes of cutting and I'm still never completely happy with them. I'm a cosmo and I love barbering I just never felt I had the skills to master it, this is stuff that just wasn't covered that well in school. I have spent lots of time and shelled out money trying to improve and I've seriously even considered paying for barber school. Dude! I tried these techniques this past weekend and did some crazy fades! They felt effortless and my day just seemed to breeze by. I saw some of the other girls stopping to check out my haircuts and for the first time I found myself wanting to post pictures. I have gained a few skills over the years but mostly with shear cutting. I have gotten compliments but I've never felt confident and always felt my customers could see that. Thanks for this, I really think you may have just saved me a lot of money. I still want to learn to use a straight razor but I'm not sure that'd be worth the money I'd spend on the tonsore academy, we'll see if my state really plans to open shaving up to cosmetologist's soon. I will recommend your videos to any and everyone I see struggling. Thanks again!!

I've looked for videos like this for years. I always wondered if I "held" my clippers correctly when fading and low and behold I wasn't. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Much appreciated! Nicole

Ok, Eddie, I’m only going to say this bc you mention if I see anything you missed to let you know. First though, this really is one of the best videos I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen thousands, I’d say this is in my top five, that’s how good this is. Now I’m going to tell you something 99% of barbers fail to teach and it’s funny because it would probably be the biggest game changer ever. Lever adjusting. If I knew literally every single time you moved the lever AND WHY EXACTLY you moved it, the specific spot you’re using it on, that alone would do everything for me. I know it probably isn’t easy, most of us move the lever dozens and dozens of times. But I’m telling you, you would be the first to do it.

I wish I came across this the first time I tried to cut my hair! This is incredibly clear/well made and I’m gonna try again later.
The first time around I made all of my lines and then got totally lost, I didn’t have a full understanding of the guards like I should have, but now I’m feeling much more confident. Thank for this!
Update: So I cut my hair again, skin faded into a 1 on top and it came out pretty even and not too shabby for a second time self-cut. Obviously not as good as my barber, but it will do for now during quarantine. I had some trouble getting the bald line out and it is still a bit visible, but my glasses cover much of it when they hook around my ear lol. Thanks again for the explanation and tutorial.

Thank so much for sharing! You have just simplified all my troubles. So many make multi guidelines and then go back to take them out. The way you have shown this is a no brainier. Your literally just cleaning up each guide before moving to the next. Best tutorial I’ve seen so far THANK YOU

thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to sit and simply explain how fading is done. The purpose of the guards, the whole concept in it's entirety. I'm new to the whole industry, straight out of cosmetology school and barbering wasn't really explained or taught in detail which makes it hard on one going into the barbering field. I Look forward to more of your tutorials and I'm going to NOT binge on Netflix, but binge on all of your videos! Best wishes and continued success!

So I’m a cosmetologist and my biggest fear is a guy telling me to do a fade or a taper because I’m afraid of messing it up or just leave lines not blending well enough but this video really helped me understand the process and all that! Thank you!!

I’m a cosmetologist in school we do not learn much in detail about men’s cut. This video helped out a lot. I struggle with men’s cuts, I understand somewhat you explanation. I have ANDIES clippers they do not have open and close, I do have plastic guards and a few of the razor attachments do not have them all yet. I’m wondering what an open close would be on my clippers.
