Prometheus was a movie where i was like "ok i can get behind this lore, im interested" but then Covenant doubled down on simplifying it. And for Ridley Scott, an atheist, im not sure why he leaned so heavily into this creationism dynamic with David and the Engineers instead of providing something more compelling.
Funnily enough Predator almost got the same problem. With “The Predator” changing a proud hunter people into eugenics obsessed idiots that think that aspergers is a superpower. Thankfully Prey backtracked hard and fast giving us a great movie in the process.
interesting video on to much and overcomplicated lore. if ua do a video on sequals dont forget to mention super late sequals and how most dont work out
i disagree on the alien thing. david the andoid made the alien on his own free will. also it barely fits into established alien lore but it fits enough.
I stopped following fnaf cause I just felt like I was being led on. Like why am I supposed to be hyped and interested when I'm never actually shown anything just constantly eluded to and hinted at and beyond hidden. Everything is only "lore!" and secrets, it feels very artificial at this point. First 4 had some some importance but everything after literally just feels like nothing but a literal Easter egg hunt. The entire game is just lore, nothing actually happens. Everything feels like an mcu reference that a 20 minute watch MOJO countdown could be made on. Like references to things outside the material which could be cool but the problem is that this is all the content within the games. And to where that type of stuff in media is usually referencing other material you can actually learn about. Where all of this stuff with fnaf just feels as if it's hooks ontop of hooks to keep people invested and isn't even really actual content. I feel like that's lowkey what's taken the series down the path it's gone, where it's less about the horror and the genuine creep factor of the (barely implied) story and animatronics and more the fandom bait. Endless hooks ontop of hooks constantly convoluting the story and changing the context of everything that came before. This series is "What a twist!" in game form.
I can't agree more about the xenomorph, not only does it completely remove the mystery and take the "Alien" out of Alien, but it also completely destroys decades of mythos to the creature and its universe (not even including the AVP aspect)
I’m working on my retrospective of the Alien franchise literally as I type this! The video on the first movie should be out next week, but I not only go over the film itself, but the entire creation of the flick. It was very much Dan O Bannon’s world that Ridley helped put to screen and I hope I can share more knowledge on the actual creation of this franchise
What sucks is his movies aren’t even bad from a directorial standpoint. They look beautiful, the problem is he’s very involved with the story and writing process now and that’s a weaker point of his
We don't always need to know HOW the sausage is made. We just want a good damn sausage.
Lore is great. It’s a reward for going through the story. It’s the original AMA. The details lore brings to the story should enhance it, not drown it.

this channel has a ton of potential. already binged all videos.
Dude thank you so much for the support. I really appreciate it
So, as part neanderthal, would i make a different type of xenomorph? Like, with a more prominent brow?

Agree to disagree, but I respect your opinion.
Alien was us all a long! Turns out the worst thing in the universe and the perfect organism is humans. Geeze way to stroke the ego of our species.
Actually incredible

That's cool, I can't see any of the comments
man, Ridley Scott has no good films since the year 2000.
