Honestly? Not a bad idea
It is sad to see where the mainstream film industry and Hollywood is going but it’s great to see other countries taking up the mantle.
I had a thing for kaiju films to begin with (Pacific Rim is one on my faves). Now I have to see Godzilla-1.
As for The Marvels, painless easy fights are too clinical and a sign the studio is bowing to PC shareholders.
I hadn't really planned on watching the new Godzilla. Now I have to watch it.

Awesome video! Unfortunately one of the main reasons why these big budget studios like Disney and Warner Brothers do so much CGI now is that the people who do stunts, practical effects and even costuming are all Union Jobs, and right now CGI effect artists aren't unionized. So it costs these companies less money to CGI a stunt or a costume then it is to have someone actually make the costume or perform the stunt. I am sure if they could find a way to do away with unionized actors and writers, they'd do so in a heart beat. Which is most likely why both the writers and actors had their strike with the threat of AI looming over their heads. It's so sad. But hopefully now we can start to see more independent and international films make these big budget Hollywood films flop.

First the cat beat the mouse (Puss In Boots (The Last Wish) than the Plumber beat the mouse (The Super Mario Bros Movie) and now the lizard beats the mouse (Godzilla Minus One) i'd love to see more masterpeace movies beat disney
I could probably beat the mouse if I try hard enough (just check out my analog horror series on my channel, yeah its poorly written but it has better writing that recent Disney movies)

The worst thing about Marvels was the perfect opportunity to have an emotional moment being wasted. She told a teenager they had to leave survivors of a disaster and the teen had NO emotional baggage beyond one line before they have a sleepover montage. 🎉you made me feel nothing.
It’s unfortunate because they had a solid setup for interpersonal drama
Really great video! I’ve watched a lot of similar breakdowns, and another difference I don’t hear anyone talk about is the politics. Both Shin and Minus One aren’t afraid to take a critical look at Japan’s government and overall national identify. The result is two films that feel sharp and relatable despite being, y’know, giant monster movies. Hollywood, by contrast, has been so drunk on military cash for so long that they’ve lost all appetite for any sentiments that could be seen as unpatriotic. The result of that is an endless series of films that feel like the creators recited the Pledge of Allegiance before every shoot.
