Oftentimes, when a suicide has committed to killing themselves, this brings about peace and happiness because the finality of the act means they will not be suffering anymore. It lifts an enormous burden off of them because they no longer have to worry about the next day, week, or month. This is why those closest to them rarely see it coming, because in the days leading up to the act, friends and family will say "he was smiling" or "she was laughing" and "we didn't know anything was wrong" but it's because the suicide knew a terrible secret. A secret that they knew would free them from their pain and suffering.
