I use it as a monitor. $99 on Black Friday, so I actually got two and dual monitor it. It's really impressed me. Its the perfect size for a monitor, not too big, and nowhere near too small. The built in speakers are really decent and the picture is amazing. So far, I've only been able to play Sleeping Dogs in 3D because I use a Radeon GPU, but it works amazing.
For those asking, This works with ANY device that uses a HDMi Connection, Xbox, PC, Playstation, HighDef Cable Box, Tivo. Yes the 3D Still works on all those devices as well. Sony sells a remote that is only $20 that works with every function of this Display.
Just bought this TV. Since I already have a 55" Plasma, 45" LCD, and even a 55" projection. But for my PS3 this may be a smaller screen, but it is by far my most favorite TV. This little guy have the best picture in 2D and the 3D is interesting to play with. If your a fanboy this is a must buy. If your a gaming enthusist, just the picture quality alone, i would highly recommend this as a game TV for a smaller space, its perfect.
@@cesar.8700 I’m still using mine. I actually use it more now than I did when it first came out. Unfortunately I never got to experience the simulview. My 3D glasses weren’t really used much but after 11 years of not being touched, the batteries for them are completely dead. I was considering buying replacement glasses on eBay but they go for about £40 and there is no guarantee they would last long. Given that there weren’t many games to make use of the simulview feature, doesn’t really seem worth it. I may reconsider if they ever drop in price.

to all of the people asking if you can hook up a ps4 up to this yes you can you can hook anything up to it that does hdmi so that means ps3 ps4 xbox 360 and Xbox one for example and for all you people who want to sound intelegant and try to tell me you cant I have my ps3 ps4 and my Xbox 360 plus my android box hooked up all I do is just switch the hdmi cables when I need to

I have this tv since last year december and its really awesome! The 3D simulview is awesome! You have a full screen and the other player cant see what you see... I like it
I'm currently looking for one of these. I really want to play some games in 3D and tear the Simulview. When it first came out I thought the PSP GO design was kinda goofy, but it's grown on me. I have acquired a pair of glasses so all I need is the display now. Hopefully in good condition and it has its stand.
@RandomKillstreak well he said there isnt any analog tv ports. you can still use a digital cable box on it if you have the component or hdmi output on your cable box.
The reason for this is more portability than a larger tv and less setup hassle. If you're going to a gaming party or something, you could bring this and play with friends.
I have this display. It is amazing and i only got it for $180 at eb games/gamestop. When u play black ops on this its pretty hard to get used to but fun. Also all the other 3d games are amazing

FYI, this has most likely been said but hey, thought i'd throw it out there again. It does suck the display doesn't come with a remote, but it will work with any (i believe) sony universal remotes. I use one for mine and it works like a dream, can do pretty much everything that's on the back panel, with the exception of turning on and off the 3D (with a single button push)
Yeah, I have big glasses and they fit fine over mine. I tested the 3D glasses out at Best Buy before I bought the display to make sure and they fit. Can't go wrong with the bundle Best Buy is running now with the MLB game and an extra pair of glasses. The display is pretty nice and I use it with a Xbox360. Silent Hill Downpour is very nice with 3D. Make sure you keep the display cool to prevent the Red light error. I got a box fan behind my display at the moment to cool the power board.
I like it, the quality is very high and just from switching from my regular HD tv to this the graphics felt way better. but! it had no remote! so i have to feel around in the back to raise the volume and junk. sound is great on it too, sub built in.
So i bought this last week and these are my thoughts: The glare is an issue during daytime. It's very annoying in darker scenes of a game or movie, because you can clearly see yourself, unless you're a ninja. The picture quality compares well to a macbook pro's screen, although viewing angles aren't the best. It's an awesome size for a desk, ideal for playing 3-5 feet away. You can go farther though, with sports games. Buttons are fiddly but you get used to it. *continues in post above*
Something not many people know about the monitor, U can use a remote control of a Sony TV to operate the menu. It's easy to use the volume that way. The only problem is when you got the two in one room and you turn off your TV, you will possible also turn off the Monitor... :) (And yes with a Sony remote control from your TV you can also access your Playstation (3)...) Talking about Sony compatibility!)
I discovered that my remote from my Sony Bravia TV actually works for this display (Found out when I turned ou my TV and my display lit up as well). The PS3 Bluray remote also works with the display.
Another thing about ghosting. Their is a weird software glitch with ghosting due to 3d. All you need to do is go to your 3d settings on this tv and just switch between them all the way back to 2d. Your great after that.
I play my PS4 on this every day still working great after five years. And any Sony remote will work on this for TV functionality and I also use my Apple TV 📺 remote on it all the time
Pros... I got mine for 99 at Best Buy Black Friday online thou you can find them cheap online/cl. Have to say it much better then I thought.. Is a perfect monitor for the PS3... What he talks about with zero button lag is true. Fighting games, I up my game just because of it, reaction time is non noticeable and my blocking is improve over my large TV (won't play fighting anymore on my 60 set)... Default color/brightness is not good, but once you tune it in it's really shines bright. 9/10

The TV I'm using right now in my bedroom is 32 in 1080p! 24 in seems like a really small display though.. because I remember having a standard non HD TV that was like 27 in. The only problem is, I have nowhere to put the 3D display.. I guess I'll have to put it in front of my TV. Also, how far do you recommend sitting away from the TV? I was gonna sit like 2 Ft away.
Last I heard these things were having huge problems. I wanted one myself and read the reviews, people were shipping them back like crazy, screen would go black and wouldn't come on again. That would explain why Best Buy was unloading them at 199.99.
I know that if you have a Nvidia Graphics card you can take advantage of Nvidia's 3DTV play. It allows your computer to use any 3D screen to display 3D games, pictures, movies, websites, ect.. I believe that AMD also has a technology for this as well, but Im not entirely sure. I dont think any of them support simulview but i could be wrong.
Oh I spent probably days getting these settings so your welcome. Their is what you call Temporal dithering in the black levels with these tv I have pretty much got rid of it all, and the green effect as well. Also with a really nice color level, and white saturation level. Note: YOU MUST HAVE AN AMD CARD TO DO THIS. Now with that stated lets start. Set pixel format to limited rgb also Amd Brightness= -25 Contrast= 73 Sony 3d display Brightness= 87 Contrast= 100 Color= 44
The SimulView thing is a feature of the console/game you don't need special sony TV to do it. Anyway i have an LG 52" 3dtv and i use the simulview with killzone 3 it's great!!!!
No, they are in standard def if you're on the 360. Games on the 360 need to use an in game 3D enabling to work. The HDMI cable with the TV sucks as well. it died very quickly for me.

Remember to buy a fan for this tv or it will keep blinking, or use a box fan on the back of it. Most people will say it's the u4 chip just to haggle money out of you. Most of the time it is not that chip but the chips inside the tv heating up and then overheating. Sony should of put a fan in this
They only included an hdmi cable because you need a version 1.4 hdmi cable or the 3d won't work. They don't want people complaining about the 3d not working when they're trying to use a 1.3a/b hdmi cable.

Display is good. Clear picture. Will work with all devices using HDMI, simul view only works with certain games. 3D PC Games will work with this display. Sound is okay.
@Rockstar212911 & SkyGuy&Snips The glasses are actually compatible with a variety of different 3d tv's, you should be able to find out which brands there compatible with (with is preety much every one, excluding some) on Sony's website and under the section of the 3d eyewear, after all they say they are universally compatible which I believe because they work fine with my Panasonic 3D Tv

You shouldn't call this a review when you never mentioned the size, refresh rate, resolution, or whether there are many decent games that make use of the 3D functionality.
Yeah in canada your better off getting the insignia 24inch LED tv. Its on sale for 169.99 at future shop. The only thing is its not 3D. You could get this one if your looking for 3d. Im probably going to get this one because 3d is awesome. 24 inch is perfect for inside of a small room.

Well, it's not a TV, it's more of a computer monitor. you're supposed to have it on your desk and play your games.
Depending on what inputs you have on the back of your pc tower, you can use a dvi to hdmi cord, it works flawlessly.

They've got it on amazon. I haven't seen it in stores since last year, but you never know.
I'm guessing you live in Canada as well? Because the Canadian future shops show the listing price as 249.99 and the american ones show it as 180.
I play my PS4 on this every day still working great after five years. And any Sony remote will work on this for TV functionality and I also use my Apple TV 📺 remote on it all the time

No, you just need a HDMI converter. In fact, I am using one of these right now hooked up to a custom built PC.

Yeah in canada your better off getting the insignia 24inch LED tv. Its on sale for 169.99 at future shop. The only thing is its not 3D. You could get this one if your looking for 3d. Im probably going to get this one because 3d is awesome. 24 inch is perfect for inside of a small room.
@TheCug On the wii U trailer it said the release date will be 2012,It;s rumored also that microsoft will reveal their new xbox at e3 2012, 3d gaming on a actual tv is more meant for pc gamers because they have tons of money, people choose consoles because they are cheaper,sony is trying to make the ps3 be like a gaming pc, They even admitted that when the ps3 launched they wanted to compete with pc's,
