  • I got a new project! This will be a Kubota V2203 with a T98 trans. The plan was to paint it, as you can see plans changed! Leave a comment and let me know what you think!

My M38 is marked U. S. A. over 20944xxx with a date code of June 1952 (found on the dash data plate so yours is a little earlier. What's the serial number on the engine (might be the title number as well)? You could have a matching numbers Jeep. The US ARMY on your hood could have been done as an Army re-paint at some point. TP25 = Tire Pressure and that was changed in 1954 from 28 to 25 psi, so under the top coat of OD there could be the original paint with just USA and the number on the hood and TP28 on the fenders...nice score!

That's great to know, seems like we have pretty similar jeeps. The only issue with the numbers matching is mike came with a Henry Jay "super sonic" engine. I'm gonna be swapping in a t98 with a V2203 Kubota.

7 kinds of cool. I did the same on my M38. Mine did not come out as well as yours. Most of mine was sanded off before the red paint went on. I did get it mostly green and the patina looked great.

Thank you, I'm trying really hard to preserve it, my only issue is exposing a little metal here and there.
