Shen is still way better. Better body which makes him harder to block or remove, and gives barrier instead of just tough. Yeah, if you level Taric he gives invulnerability for a turn, but that isn't much better than barrier, and leveling him the first place will be pretty impossible in a deck built around Fiora. Yeah fiora also benefits from support buffs and gems, so you can build a fiora deck around that, but she works way better with barrier since that's significanty safer.
Admittedly you don't need a Fiora deck to revolve around Fiora, so you can just make a Taric deck and slap her into it where she would win occasionally, but that wouldn't be a true Fiora deck would it.

Seen as Taric is a 4 drop and has a pretty difficult level up condition that won't come into play for a few rounds most games, I don't see him replacing Shen at all, besides, barriers do more than prevent damage, there's a lot of synergies
@@tychoderkommentator2989 they reveleaded alot of cards that give gems alongside him, gems being a 1 mana spell that heal a units for 1 and gives it +1 atk, so it shouldn't be that hard to get a bunch of then and play then while taric is on the board.
@@jorgedaniel9656 he's not that difficult. Play Taric, uses a gem in him (1), attacks supporting another unit (2), he cast the spell in the supported (3). Don't know if giving himself tough counts too, but probably Mountain sojourners counts as 2 supports, so (5). This in turn 4 with Taric, sojourners and any low level follower that gives you a gem (especially gift giver). Is already easy if you focus your deck in this combo, and they're probably going to reveal more support cards.

I'm so early that *Unyielding Spirit* is still burst speed.
The Devs are definitely gonna need that to Slow. But there is also Purify, Will of Ionia and Detain that are good counters to Tarics abilities and keywords.

To be fair, to copy unyielding spirit with Taric, you'll need to give the opponent time to respond, which if they had a kill spell would be a huge blowout. Of course, if you wait to unyielding spirit after combat while taric is immortal, then you at least have 1 pretty much guaranteed US target.

Yeah they legit made Shen look underwhelming in comparison. I mean with Taric you can protect him and his ally without being punished while shen can only protect his supported ally.
But with that being said I think they can work great together.

He really is disgusting. He has an effect which only works every other turn AND isn't game winning even after he levels up (a level up which is incredibly taxing and requires him to stick to the board for quite a bit)... If that wasn't enough, he also forces you into using combat tricks pre combat, which is something that is always game losing in LoR... So yeah, he's disgusting because he's hot garbage, just like you must be at the game if you think this is a good card

People saying "it makes shen looks dumb or weak" they both have their pros/cons. Shen is a 3/5 while taric is a 2/4 with tough if he supports an ally. 1 extra attack and HP vs tough. Also, it requires you to use a spell to really make use of his ability.. Otherwise he just gives tough vs Shen barrier. Shen level up requirement is easier to achieve and requires less setup.
Taric>>>Shen. Shen is definitely bad, why summon him if I can summon a Kaito? +3 overhelming is much more interesting. it pays more to use barrier cost 3 or Ripostar
The thing is ping effects removes barrier, and tough does not get removed and can usually nullify it.
But leveled up Shen ability is also pretty lackluster in comparison to leveled up Taric.
@@CelVini First of all, Kato and Shen both have their own archetype they fit in and strenght. Also, you're comparing a follower that cost 5 with a champion that cost 4. Overwhelm is a strong keyword just as much as barrier. Shen with greenglade caretaker, Brightsteel formation, Stand united and more is extremely strong. You can't simply compare Barrier with Overwhelm without taking into consideration (the cost, synergy and statline) In other word, compare apples to apples and not oranges to apples. This is about Taric and Shen.
You also need to consider the region combinations, sure Taric might be situationally better than Shen, but is he really going to be worth switching Ionia with Targon? I know I'd personally prefer access to Deny and Will in exchange for a slightly worse Taric, though that might change as more Targon cards are revealed.
Ready to think in every possible combination with Ezreal :D

The attack already was decided before he level up, that way the effect don't work
I thought if Shen leveled up by giving a barrier his level up effect is in effect THAT ROUND which would make this Taric one inconsistent. Am I wrong?
@@BigJambu shens level up effect is an aura, so its always on while hes on the field, tarics effect is support, it only works when he attacks, since taric attacked then leveled up while counting hes own support effect for the level up, hes pre level up effect applied.

Agreed, but I am sure they will add plenty of 4+ dmg spell or single unit removal in the new patch
But his level up condition seems really hard. He has to see 7 allies supported and you can only support by attacking. That means Taric has no real fast way to level up. Even if there is a full board of support units there has to be still 2 attack rounds which are 3 turns minimum. In most cases you'll probably need more rounds.

yes, it seems. But you have to remember that he need to see all of the: 7+ targeted or supported, and I think that could be quite difficult. like miss fortune that has to see 4 attacks, but how often it really goes up in a normal game.

Yup, confused about that part too. It literally says him and his ally cant take damage but then they proceed to show them taking damage... weird.
Same thing with thresh leveling up mid battle. The leveled up effects cant activate during that turn because the normal effects were already applied prior.
Most champion can't use their leveled up effects in the same action that they level up.
for christ sake, does no one see the problem Taric and Unyielding Spirit will cause together? Please, remove Unyielding Sprite. There is no reason for there to be a card that nullifies everything except recall decks.

Unyielding Spirit doesn't really synergize much with taric. His effect states that he cast the last spell for 1!!! round. That means unyielding spirit for 8 mana would only do what leveled up Taric already does.
