@Zizaran PoB was updated to utilize Loadouts so you can sync up your gems, gear and passive trees btw, so when people choose gems for example , it automatically selects corresponding gear and tree. It would be great if you could utilize that new function for all your PoB's going forward. Phox did it for his PoB and it's super easy to follow for even new players that way.

Also folks, it's not on the build, but don't sleep on the Mana Mastery for: Recover 10% Mana over 1 second when you use a guard skill. At 10k max mana and the automated Arcane Cloak triggering every 3.37 seconds, that's an average of nearly 300 mana per second. You'll probably find it more useful than other mana regen options around 1k-2k max mana.
@@dominicstowers7767 Guard skills on left click was still a thing last time I played archmage... After some testing, yeah, it doesn't work with automation. Yet another downgrade from when we could put skills on left click and it was considered self cast. It's a big hit, too. Upwards of 30% of passive mana recovery. It's no wonder they had to change archmage, the fundamental play style of the build would have been wrecked after the left click change. I'd still say it's worth taking before you can use automation and just respec the point when you change over.
Regarding this arcane cloak thing - the build states it should be at level 20, which costs over 60% of mana every 3 seconds. That's really hard to mitigate, I find. How do you cover that ground? Even a mana pot barely helps, since we have such a huge mana pool.
Actual question as someone who didn't play back then, not some sarcastic snark: How did you manage that? Since Frost Nova of Ice Bolts is a trans gem and all.
@@MikeSakaru Back in the day casting nova on your frostbolts already casted the nova on the bolts. If you google for it, you can see posts about it from at least 3 years ago
Even though I have been playing since 2011, I remain a filthy casual - and this is one of the best builds I have ever played. It took a little time to come together, and the biggest initial hurdle is the ice nova of frostbolts gem itself (1.7 Div when I bought it) but once it is rolling its balance of clear speed and boss killing power is amazing. I started a Ground Slam build, but I am spending the rest of the league on this build. Thanks for the guide!!!!
I league started it last league; I recommend going ball lightning if you dont have kitavas thirst yet and only swap to ice nova when you get the helmet. Edit: basically use the same tree etc, but take the aoe nodes in the starting area.
@@srulz normal one, but you have to run slower proj, so you lose one link. Kitavas thirst itself is 3-5c, but Ice nova of frostbolts can be expensive (1-3div, maybe more after being that good last league).

The only downside of playing Path of Exile is after you've put a bit of time into it, you will realise how far ahead this game is compared to others. It's absolutely insane how much effort GGG has put into this game over the years and you can feel it too. Simply watching the devs talk about the game has became a side hobby for me, its refreshing compared to the rest of the industry excluding a very limited amount of companies. But have fun, play it your way and good luck!
@@johnhalliday5420 I personally start hating PoE when I reach mapping because then you have to start learning in depth how some stats affect your character. Update to my previous comment. This build is getting better and better. I've been grinding Uber lab for transmute frostblink and got it today. Completely shredding t-14. Juiced T15 seems to be my limit right now. My gear needs upgraded and I'm on my way to t-16 & 17..

Hey @Zizaran great build guide. If I could make a suggestion to bring your guides to the next level it would be to take care to not have warnings in the PoB. For example in this PoB there is not enough Dex. This is a small hurdle to overcome when your gems get to level 20 but other times it could be the reserved mana that gives the warning. I think it would go a long way to have some notes about where to get the required attributes. This could be skill tree (at certain char level) or on which gear slots it makes most sense to put the +attributes on.
@@bladethrower9000 I dont think many casual players can afford a foible just yet when they are reaching those gem levels where the dex just gets out of reach.

Can someone explain why the "Endgame - Unique Jewels/Big Gear"-tree in the PoB is preferred compared to the "Endgame - No unique jewels/less gear"-tree? If I just look at the numbers in PoB it's basically the same damage and defenses. Is it just the balance between ES/Life/Mana when it comes to taking multiple hits or something?
The unique jewels are the way you cap spell suppression, an important stat for bossing (and juiced mapping) that doesn’t always raise the max hits on POB (since it only affects spells and most boss abilities are spells). It may not look like much but ask any veteran player and the difference in game of 0 Suppression and 95-100 suppression is extremely noticeable, it stops almost all random one shots
@@mariorubino7679 But spell suppression is already capped without the switch. If you just select the "less gear"-tree and look at spell suppression it is capped.
I like Zizaran's builds even though I'm softcore trade player. They are balanced in offensive and defensive capabilities and won't lead you to a situation where you're 6-portaling every red map hard-stuck at level 87.

I know this comment is a month old but I would say mid game maps are t6-13 and 14+ is when it gets real depending on modifiers. I run white maps on t12-13 to level up because I know I won’t die. I would recommend trying the tougher maps as soon as you level up so just in case you die you won’t be losing valuable xp
Hello, I dont understand how you manage to have a 100 mana cost on Ice Nova. I have the 6 link with the recommended gems and I'm at 50 mana cost. What could explain such a difference ?
I have the same problem, just got my 3th ascendancy which reduces mana cost and now it costs only 80 mana for me, I assume you have to get a higher max mana pool to increase the cost of the spell? But i dont know and im too broke to try sth xD
As one of the top creators for this game the fact you didnt explain the transition from firestorm to ice nova is mindblowing. That swap was insanely breakpoint dependent and not to address it is saddening. I would rather you put 3 guides out that are complete than 10 that are lacking in detail.
I am just finishing campaign with this I just spent 3 divines on some res cap gear cast speed. And holy shit I feel like this build will go soooo much farther then my boneshatter jugg ever had a chance. Having sooo much fun in my first league! How have I missed on thos game all this time
The 5 im using is Inspiration, archmage, intensify, spell echo, and ice nova. I followed pob exactly but took off the notable "righteous decree" and just make sure all the gems are leveled. I have my ice nova at 104 mana cost on a 5 link.
I'm having defense issues on early mapping. Does anyone else have the same issue or is it normally this weak early on? I have max res, 2000 evasion and around 36% spell supress so far.
You'd want to fit Grace in the build and try to get evasion/ES bases, as the build's massive EHP pool and recovery can carry if given enough time to recover your lost life/ES/mana, which high evasion helps with. You can fit Grace in by linking Arrogance to Clarity instead of Eternal Blessing, causing Clarity to reserve ~500 life and freeing up Eternal Blessing for Grace. You'' also want to buy a Doryani's Glorious Vanity as soon as you can, as that pretty much doubles your defense. It's ~100 chaos orbs, but it is *very* worth it and is probably the single biggest defensive upgrade you could make to the build.
definitely not tanky build as people depicts, but I think the build's both offense and defenses scales very well with investment. Meaning, it has very high potential to be very strong and tanky but weak early on. Unlike other builds with strong defenses but will not scale defensively any further after more investment.
@@ukasz7333 Yep. Alternatively, you can link both Grace and Wrath to Eternal Blessing and swap as needed if you have a spare socket, as Eternal Blessing still lets you swap which aura is active under the blessing effect. I gave melee a week, now I'm going with this build. Update: I'm now level 98 and have cleared almost uber content and have about 100 div in loose currency.
I wouldn't if you're new at all. Market bricked this build. Unless you got access to lots of divines. Amulet that is listed on his POB no matter what stage is a good 10 Divines now. And a Gem he uses is 15+ Fully convinced you cannot play this game as a new player. If you EVER need help via a PoB you cannot get it from a streamer at all because the people on the market will F you. It's Path of Trade and it doesn't even put an auction house in the game. Don't get hit by phys. It's the only weak point of this build. It sucks, but no build is perfect. If you want to melt screens and bosses, there has to be a downside
I'm new to POE, so I was just wondering how do you get specific stats on an item or weapon when crafting them? Is there a rule of thumb or website that you can follow to help guide a craft to a particular stat? rather than rolling the dice?
It is a lot of dice rolling, but there are many ways of loading the dice to make the desired outcome more likely. In some rare cases you can guarantee something, but usually you roll it. craftofexile is very helpful, but might be a bit overwhelming if you are completely new to crafting.
ziz has an intro to crafting video on the channel that should help you out but the short answer is that there are ways to get specific stats but those will involve rolling the dice and praying for good results
I've got nearly 4k hours and I only low level craft in this game. Honestly Crafting in POE is kinda crazy as compared to LE or D4 etc and when I say crazy I don't mean good or easy. It's not the kind of thing you can jump into as a new player at all which sucks but you can just farm currency and buy the items you want instead. You can go down the route of learning to craft but good luck with that.
Got all the jewels and last one I added was the timeless to get corrupted soul keystone. After that, my character would die more often. Not sure why so I took that off and put the timeless jewel Militant Faith (High Templar Dominus) to get inner conviction that increases dps by 12%
This is the last time I try or follow a steamer build. The pob lacks a lot of information. It's kind of fine in yellow maps. Once you get to red maps if anything looks at you your dead. The kitava's thirst is a trap. It does make it one button and feels great - when it works. Several moments of casting, never getting frostbolts and then just dying. And of course all the gear is ultra expensive and out of reach. And things always turn out like this.
Stick it out, I'm clearing t16's now with none of the unique jewels or atzir is foible. Just be cautious and ride the waves behind your frostbolts, totally doable. Make sure you get the profane wands and prioritize cast speed mana and spell damage, cap your resistances. Harvest reforge works great for me for getting chaos resistance.
I've maybe spent just over 2 div on my character and I just killed Shaper. I've used Chaos Orbs to purchase all my gear and it's nothing god-tier but it keeps me capped on resistances and stacks mana. Stick it out, stay in lower tiers if you're struggling and just keep mapping and you'll make money. You can get very far on a budget
@@sgtgiggles7296 I'm in the same boat, survavibility is pretty bad in reds, pretty comfy in yellows, resistances are capped, chaos is at 20%, spell suppression is not capped yet, and Ancestral Vision is 10 div so at this point I'm not sure if I can ever go ailment immune. :D Just swapped wrath to grace for the time being, we'll see how it goes. Oh and that perma Soul Eater boss in Burial Chambers can go fuck itself. I cannot kill that yet I have enough damage to 0 phase hunger, absolute bullshit.
Thanks for the build @Zizaran. As a newbie, this is my first time being able to properly traverse maps (starting early reds)... slowly but surely. Takes a while to farm those transfigured gems initially but boy are they worth it! Now running Kitava setup. Still a lot to work on gear-wise. Wondering which league mechanics will this really shine though?
Ziz, I have been on and off with PoE now clocking in about 130 hours, and your videos have really helped me visualized where I can get power with my builds, I have a huge bias towards Divine Ire and Crackling Lance just for the lightning with Lord theming, but from what I can gather these skills are not available as budget builds. Lemme know if I am wrong
So I would really recommend picking a league starter that has been tested. The problem with A or B tier is for people with little experience, that it can be tough to scale and you hit a barrier that requires additional farming or you maybe messed something up. So rather pick something safe that enables you to get enough currency and then later on build up other skills with enough cash
@@MrCookieeis ty! I am a sucker for SSF, but I also contacted the person that made my favorite casual build and got some pointers for making it work in the new league. I might just go into LC Hierophant if all else fails. The challenge of having to pay attention to dropped gear has helped me learn to appreciate random drops even if they aren't optimal next steps, I still enjoy going more ham gradually
Two questions: 1. How do I craft the wands? They are absurdly expensive on trade and I cant get good drops. 2. How do I get the Atziri's Foible Paua Amulet? The PoB recommends it as early as midgame use but It goes for 9 div on trade.... I've tried to chance orb a few I've found on ground and from vendor but that doesn't seem reliable or efficient.
ele reflect was insta death for me but if you find a way to be immune that’s obviously not a problem, not sure if possible this league but cooldown above a certain point made kitava not trigger for me making you deal way less damage, also players cannot regenerate life mana and es is annoying to borderline unplayable especially with automated, I also always skipped cannot leech for both life and mana
I swapped out Sigil of power for vaal detonate dead for some extra boom. Tried with the soul eater belt with energy shield leech on the nova. Cleared a lot more contents than my RF Chieftain.
Unless you enjoy dying, play something else. This takes 100 divines to get to a decent defensive point. It has ZERO phys mitigation. Once you get to endgame, everything oneshots you, even with 5k life and 4k shield, its super painful.
I was wondering how do you craft the wands, looks like some fractures mana +cast speed essence and some veil shenanigans...I will definitely league start this if I find out how to craft the weapons.
Insane budget, league starting this is nearly impossible with frostblink of wintry blast costing nearly 100c *edit* yeah, two of the skills in this set up alone are 130c, we gotta stop calling all builds league starters.
I started it. Just use your brain and use alternates. I farmed up to buy a vaal ice nova of frostbolts then just used flame dash until I could afford wintery blast.
@@legoboy7825 Wintry blast is definitely not needed, as Ive found from playing. Alls they used it for was one shotting white mob packs. But after a while it stops doing even that.
Thanks for this guide, I've loved this build, and your guide definitely got me there! I have a question about damage scaling. I'm a veteran of many ARPGS, so the concept is not foreign to me. I've reached level 88, and am into red maps. My gear is a little scuffed, but most of it has most of the ideal stats from your "midgame" gear in the POB. My tree is nearly identical to the midgame tree, minus a gem. But in POB my sheet DPS is about half of the "midgame" setup, and even when I manually swap all my gear to the ideal "midgame" gear, it only goes up by about 20-30%. Gems are all level 19, and have not been qualitied up yet. However, manually changing them in POB doesn't improve the DPS much either. So I must be missing some sort of damage scaling in my build which is present in your "midgame" setup, but for the life of me I can't find what it is. Any insights? Thanks!
Without decently high investment this build is completely bait. I followed the guide to a T at the start of 3.24. It was just terrible. (I did go step by step on maxrollgg not skipping anything.) Something like absolution or arc (no trasfigured gem required to go into maps) would be way better to start with on this character and swap after you have 5-10 divine worth to invest. Maybe I’m just bad but if you’re bad too might be worth waiting for this build.
Lol, I League started it fine and so did a substantial amount of players, given it was among the most played builds on day 1 on Poe Ninja and then became the 2nd highest played Ascendancy the following days. You get passable gear to make it through acts very easily, and the Settlers mechanic also shits out decent gear. The only thing you really need to grind out to make it fully work is the transfigured gem, which you can do lab for. The fact the gem is so expensive is kind of proof of how popular - and strong - the build is as a league starter.
I really love what you are doing, BUT i wish you would make League starters that actually work from start, and are not dependent on getting this or that item. It's really annoying looking for good league starters and then there is "but you need X Unique" or "you need X Jewel of Y". It's league start. Nobody has anything. It would really be great if the serious content creators like yourself, would really look to put out league starters that are really league starters and not builds that already need items/trade.
@@CypherOfSolace I looked at the POB, the setups he provides are for Icenova of Frostbolt, and with Kitava's Thirst, the leveling build before uses a different skillset. So definitely NOT a league starter build, with a setup that does not depend on trade.
I'm playing this and would definitely advice new players NOT to start this just the abilities will cost you 90c + 65 just gør the abilities alone. I'm currently at lvl 83 and feel kinda baited. Too many playing this and thus the market is rigged. So way to expensive and the neck alone goes for 9 divine.... mid game gear my ass... Other than that the defence feels super bad, atleast to me. Have not died this much since rolling a nado shot glass canon. Can't stress this enough, don't start this build !!!!!
Hi ziz! Always love your guides and videos. You're so helpful! I just started this build a few days ago. I know this sounds like a dumb question, but in the "easy ways to fuck up the build" section, what do you mean not having leech? Don't we get leech on the tree? Do we also need leech on gear (I have .4 lightning damage leeched as life on gloves) Is there something else I need? my char is lvl 90 3.6klife 3.3kES 8kmana, not ailment immune yet (waiting on points), but I am relatively squishy. Spell suppression is almost capped (need 3 more passive points on ) It's not bad but I'm dying every now and then to things I feel I shouldn't be. Any ideas? Evasion is low, armor is non-existent.

I REALLLYY appreciate you sharing these low budget/ uber strong builds. Makes PoE far more accessible.
Wtf that sounds really essential, ziz should add it to the pob or notes. RUclips should have a feature to save comments
Better double check this. I know for flasks, "when you use a guard skill" does not include automation triggered skills
If it's triggered, it doesn't proc the mastery I believe
I played this build several years ago as Archmage raider with Pledge of Hands. Back then I enjoyed the two-button playstyle.
you mean a variation of it? the main gem for this was only released in 3.23 (dec 2023)??
Actual question as someone who didn't play back then, not some sarcastic snark:
How did you manage that? Since Frost Nova of Ice Bolts is a trans gem and all.
@@MikeSakaru Back in the day casting nova on your frostbolts already casted the nova on the bolts. If you google for it, you can see posts about it from at least 3 years ago

this build is just nuts, it was the first time i went to lvl 100 in SSF, this build can and does do it all.
did you play frost nova or ball lightning? Ive heard people recommend ball lightning for ssf, what would you recommend
Edit: basically use the same tree etc, but take the aoe nodes in the starting area.
the normal ball lightning, or the trans ver? Also how expensive is kitava's thirst early league?
@@srulz normal one, but you have to run slower proj, so you lose one link.
Kitavas thirst itself is 3-5c, but Ice nova of frostbolts can be expensive (1-3div, maybe more after being that good last league).
Thats my plan for SSF - cant rely on getting kitavas thirst at all, so starting ball lighthing of orbiting then swapping to nova later if i get it.
Do you have a POB for those early diffrences?
@@RB-xc9wg so do you swap ball lightning over ice nova and slower projectiles over lightning pen for example?
@@Pjakt played all last league w/out kitava thirst, really doesn't make much difference. it's just 2 button build without it. ball lightning is really nice for campaign/early mapping, i juts follow guide and use that in place of firestorm i think

I watch guides for fun but have never played. This just looks like so much chaos. The new league looks like my kind of thing though, so I’m going to give this game a try on Friday.
What you’re seeing here is late game mostly. You won’t have this level of chaos early in the game

@@johnhalliday5420 I personally start hating PoE when I reach mapping because then you have to start learning in depth how some stats affect your character. Good luck! just take it slow and don't get overwhelmed by trying to absorb everything. Just focus on one or two things you think look fun
Is there gonna be a maxroll guide for this build?
Update to my previous comment. This build is getting better and better. I've been grinding Uber lab for transmute frostblink and got it today. Completely shredding t-14. Juiced T15 seems to be my limit right now. My gear needs upgraded and I'm on my way to t-16 & 17..

Im kind of new, and some of the things he talked about in the last 1 minute or so of this video completely lost me lol. Fun build though, probably going to be the only one I do this season so glad it scales into end game well. Thanks Ziz.
I found my Leaguestarter, thank you Ziz.
The dex doesnt matter because of atziri's foible. Reduces attribute reqs by 25%. POB just doesn't factor that in
@@bladethrower9000 I dont think many casual players can afford a foible just yet when they are reaching those gem levels where the dex just gets out of reach.
Just take 30 dex node until you can.

@Zizaran Hi Ziz. Quick question - is there a reason to go for Evasion/ES gear in the Endgame setup with Kitavas? From the POB, we get very little evasion (like 11%). Is that preferable to stacking more ES?
@Zizaran
its so we can roll Suppression on it. Suppression can only be rolled on Evasion gear.

Is it in your kitavas thirst? You can't manually cast it if it is
Ziz, I have been on and off with PoE now clocking in about 130 hours, and your videos have really helped me visualized where I can get power with my builds,
I have a huge bias towards Divine Ire and Crackling Lance just for the lightning with Lord theming, but from what I can gather these skills are not available as budget builds.

Two questions:

This build is wild love it!!
Ziz you’re an SSF guy I don’t understand why you don’t touch on SSF viability in these videos
I swapped out Sigil of power for vaal detonate dead for some extra boom. Tried with the soul eater belt with energy shield leech on the nova. Cleared a lot more contents than my RF Chieftain.
nice bait
What armour skin is he using? It looks nice
As an update I did find a full guide on all gear for this build from Steelmage made 3 months ago
@@yahim0568 thank you for updating your comment!
Insane budget, league starting this is nearly impossible with frostblink of wintry blast costing nearly 100c
*edit* yeah, two of the skills in this set up alone are 130c, we gotta stop calling all builds league starters.
Have you looked at the price of the jewels?
I started it. Just use your brain and use alternates. I farmed up to buy a vaal ice nova of frostbolts then just used flame dash until I could afford wintery blast.
@@legoboy7825 Wintry blast is definitely not needed, as Ive found from playing. Alls they used it for was one shotting white mob packs. But after a while it stops doing even that.
@@1UPvocalcovers No it is not needed but feels nice and is pretty essential for crossing the map fast.
@@legoboy7825 Yeah fair, it is spammable. I eventually did end up buying it once i had the currency to just make the build feel better.
Thanks!
Got to say this is the worst leveling setup I have ever played
Gonna play this on Private League, hopefully the uniques aren't too hard to get.
Funny, I’m still on a 4 link setup and crushing everything on yellow maps with absolute trash gear found.
So, until we get our Kitava's we'll be manually casting the frost bolts right?
bait
lel
this build is so badly written, no key information whatsoever and defo not a starter - you need so much to make it work
Lol, I League started it fine and so did a substantial amount of players, given it was among the most played builds on day 1 on Poe Ninja and then became the 2nd highest played Ascendancy the following days.
Can't wait to see if we can fill the whole screen with minions like that zoo build from last league.
Def Bait, dont play
It's been awhile since I ran a Ziz build. It's time.
Most people just self-cast the frostbolts. Kitavas thirst just turns it from a two button build like bladefall bladeblast to a one button build.
braindead go play diablo lil bro
@@CypherOfSolace I looked at the POB, the setups he provides are for Icenova of Frostbolt, and with Kitava's Thirst, the leveling build before uses a different skillset. So definitely NOT a league starter build, with a setup that does not depend on trade.
What gives him focused casting for his wands increased damage while focused?
I'm playing this and would definitely advice new players NOT to start this just the abilities will cost you 90c + 65 just gør the abilities alone. I'm currently at lvl 83 and feel kinda baited. Too many playing this and thus the market is rigged. So way to expensive and the neck alone goes for 9 divine.... mid game gear my ass...
Other than that the defence feels super bad, atleast to me. Have not died this much since rolling a nado shot glass canon. Can't stress this enough, don't start this build !!!!!
Any build that is released by these content creators are total baits.
Bruh i made 750c in 2 days its so easy
@@ionutony sure
@@kreathyr8270 Its true tho
Spell suppression is almost capped (need 3 more passive points on )
It's not bad but I'm dying every now and then to things I feel I shouldn't be. Any ideas?
Evasion is low, armor is non-existent.
Great video!! Can you tell me what is the best farm for this build?
Thank you for your work!!
