The thing about Tisas is that the people saying they don’t run well are talking about the Tisas from a decade ago.
Tisas has responded to nearly every bit of criticism and improved their line numerous times to address common complaints. This includes failure to feed issues, magazine issues, stovepipe issues, even on down to trigger weight AND they’re shipping them in really nice plastic cases because people griped about the cardboard they used to come in…
The Tisas of today is not the Tisas of 2012. 1911’s in general aren’t naturally happy with hollowpoints though, and since these are made to original 1911 A1 spec, they will have the same issues with HP’s hanging up on the feed ramp- a very easy correction via gunsmith.
These are the best value pistol on the market, currently.
Yeah they are really good 1911 for the money
230 grn federal punch feeds perfect through mine, but mine also came with a ramped barrel, the federal punch is more curved like a ball round, as opposed to other HP's
No rails, no "combat sights", beavertail, not a double stack.... Just a plain old GI 1911A1 .45ACP. They conceal a whole lot better than most wiz bang 9mms of the same general size and hit like a truck rather than a wasp down range. I'd be a happy Old Goober if I could have one. I think I'll just go ahead and order one and get it over with.
They are really nice guns.
I have considered purchasing a 1911 for awhile. I always try to educate myself by reading and watching videos like this one before I buy any firearm. Tisas offers a forged steel 1911 that is extremely affordable here. Buds has them for $370 now. Definitely a great deal.
Yeah you couldn’t beat price for sure
Same here but I also don't want one if it's going to failure to fire or eject or only certain ammo it will only fire.. Not looking to upgrade a bunch of parts I will just buy a better one. Now a good deal sounds good but will it perform
I bought one. It's now my edc. I own a few and it's perfect for follow up shots and the recoil is perfect. I changed my handles barrel. Trigger and hammer. But the original trigger was flawless. Extremely similar to a Walther ppk (my absolute favorite)
Thanks for the info friend.
Mine cost 439.00, price is up. Hold gun firmly in ONE hand, just use the other as support. Thumb should be tight on the gun, this is your reason for the 'bite'.
I own one of these, bought it two years ago and have fired about 3500 rds through it with no malfunctions. The parts have not worn out and should add I use 7 rd mags - the factory parkerized MecGar magazine, another blued Mec Gar mag I bought, 2 Wilson Combat mags and an Auto ordnance magazine. Everything seems to run for magazines. I only shoot ball ammo and only 230 gr as it was designed for.
Yeah they seem to be good guns for the price
Do your MecGar blued mags go in easily or do you have to depress the mag release like I do??🤔
No they go in easy
@@AeolusIICB I have several different brands including Wilson Combat and also MecGar blued mags and they all go in easy. I did find this info doing a quick search of qualified gunsmiths.
Hooper Gun Works got a call recently from a customer who was having difficulty installing standard 1911 45 ACP Mags into the Rock Island Armory 1911. There are a couple of things that can cause this, over-tightened grip screws being the most common. Another cause lies within how the mag release button (or mag catch if you prefer) is cut from the factory. Sometimes the fit may be so tight that the magazine cannot push aside the inner part of the catch to engage with the slot in the magazine body. There is also a little bit of variance from magazine to magazine and between manufacturers that can make this inconsistent.
Copy and paste that paragraph and the webpage should come up in the search with that article. RUclips hassles links I leave by censoring them.
@@megatrends Thanks for the input!! 👌Since I only have it for fun and nostalgia, it’s not a big deal, just annoying. 🤷🏻♂️ I’ll check it out👍
Looks pretty solid for the price. Seems to run well with different magazines and ammunition. For an entry level 45 with the price, I like it.
Yeah it’s worth the money
Looks pretty solid, and for the price you can't beat it.
Yeah pretty good 1911 for the money
It's pronounced "Tee-sah-shh".
I just finally picked one up last month after researching them for 2 years. It's a tank. I only have 100 rounds through it, but it's great. Just cane with some really tight mags that began to loosen up after a bit.
I changed out my grips with GI surplus grips . Color was a darker brown and looks good.
I appreciate the video.
They are nice 👍
Not in KY it ain’t!! Those new grips look great but the cheap plastic ones are more authentic to what we used in the Army before going 9mm.
Nice review my Tisas 1911 is coming in very soon, Also love your Tee-shirt brother.
Thank you friend for watching and your comment may god bless you.
I own one of these, that isn't hammer bite it is actually caused by rough edges of the beaver tail. Mine made me bleed too until I smoothed mine over with a green 3m pad then some 2000 grit sandpaper which of course wore some of the finish on the edge off but it no longer chews my hand. I have 3,500 rds through mine and am quite certain that is not hammer bite. Other videos also state it is hammer bite even Hickock45 but it isn't.
That maybe what it is
I have this pistol no hammerbite or blood drawn yet
Yeah that's changed now
Have had my new Tisas Carry model for a week now. Have shot .45's for 25 years. Own a couple of Kimbers, Springfield, Sig and Taurus. I have about 200 rounds through mine without a hick-up. Out of the box the trigger was smooth, short pull and reset and according to my Lyman trigger pull gauge about 5 lb. trigger pull. This may become my favorite .45! At $400, out the door, money absolutely well spent.
Yeah In my opinion you can’t beat them for the price and reliability .
I have the Tisas 1911 Tanker version. Found that the Wilson Combat 47D mags work best so far. Gave mine some nice Wilson Combat wood grips. Excellent gun over all and is now my carry gun.
Yeah I believe they’re reliable and not too expensive.
Yep, I have six WC 47D mags for my Tisas 1911A1. They are the best! My Tisas came with a parkerized Checkmate mag which has been flawless as well.
I currently own four SDS Tisas: M1911A1 45ACP, M1911 9mm, M1911 45ACP A1 Carry, and the Tanker. I've had no issues; they all feed both ball and defensive ammunition just fine, whether using Mec-Gar, Remington, Ed Brown, Checkmate, or GI magazines. The M1911A1 45ACP is basically the same as was my TO&E issued weapon when I was in the USMC and later the US Army.
I really enjoy your straightforward approach weapon reviews. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the info and your comment friend.
Tisas discontinued the army model awhile ago.Better get em and hang on tight
Stares directly at Tisas written on box. "This here is a Tias." Lol
lol
I'm looking forward to one of these. Subscribed.
I believe you will be satisfied with one.thank you friend!
New to your channel. Good video ‘2A freedom range’!
Thanks friend.
Made better than today’s Colt’s. For less than $350 shipped it’s really a steal…
Yeah that’s true
Yeah they are nice
I love mine. thanks for the vid.
You’re welcome thank you for the comment.
I've put 300 rounds through mine no malfunctions in the two weeks I've had it
Yeah they seem to be good 1911 especially for the money
I grabbed the 9mm service pistol for a good price. This is my first firearm and wanted a starter. I know these pistols seem to be well put together. I plan to get the 45 later. I'm also learning how to clean and oil her too!
That’s good practice safety and learn to use it efficiently every one that abides by the law should
I have a Tisas 1911 Duty B45 which only cost me $437 at the time of purchase and it has been absolutely fantastic with no FTFs or FTEs, although the first thing i changed on it was the cheap plastic grips to some nice G10 grips
I have that same make and model. Runs hardball flawlessly. Doesn't like hollow points. I swapped out my grip panels, too.
I picked up 1 of these 2 years ago. Solid piece.
They’re nice for sure friend.
Seems to be pretty good I like it. I bought myself one just haven’t had a chance to shoot it yet.
They’re really nice pistol especially for the price.
I just ordered one and waiting on it to get here so I can go plinking some 45 acp soon. Love the video. God bless.
I don’t believe you will be disappointed friend.thank you brother GOD bless you!
I have two of them, 9mm and .45, and I do hold the pistol high and tight. I get no "bite" myself, luckily. Wahi' Valleys
First time shooting one maybe my hold
Bought on in February 2023. The fit and finish are impressive at any price. It's as fun to shoot as my CMP acquired 1943 M1911A1 Remington Rand.
Yeah you can’t beat The Tisas 1911s for sure.
Just ordered my Tisas 1911 Duty Black 45 ACP Pistol - 5" Barrel, im just hoping it comes with that nice black case everyones talking about and the 2 mags.! Iv been watching videos non stop about these. And heard nothing. But good things about them.
You will be satisfied I’m sure.
I think Tisas makes the best of the lower cost 1911. Those grips look sharp.
You’re probably right
But here in philipines TISAS price range is 42,900 pesos its almost 1000 usd
Mercy
@@2Afreedomrange i love TISAS i wanna buy TISAS 1911 but its So expensive here in philipines
Better than the new Charles Daly?
An excellent 1911A1 for the money.
Yeah I agree
Tisas made in Türkiye 🇹🇷
Best regards from Türkiye
These are damn good guns.
Yeah I agree friend.
I own two of them and like them very much .
I’ve got a 10m/m and 9m/m Tisas both are excellent pistol’s.
Those grips are nice! Ask your buddy where he got them, because I want some. Where you from, Mississippi, Georgia or Alabama?
The grips came from Amazon. I live in southwest Virginia friend.
From what I’ve heard this gun has been discontinued. Have no idea why…there’s so much potential in the gun market for a high quality low price .45 1911
Maybe so I know my local gun store had several a couple of weeks ago.
@@2Afreedomrange hope to find one, I’ll take a $380-&450 Tisas over dropping $1000 + dollars on a Kimber
Yeah they are worth it I believe my local gun store was asking 359.
They have not been discontinued. There is the US Army version as well as the Commander sized "Tanker".
Yeah I’ve been seeing them in several gun stores lately.
Your video is about the best! You talk less and show more action. Everything you say means something.
Thank you for the comment.
Need to order those grips for mine!
Yeah they are nice grips
I just picked one up for around the same price range $380 just put my first 100 rounds thru it and only had 1 misfeed. did not experience any hammer bite tho and i love it so far alot of fun to shoot. smooth trigger pull not bad on recoil either. i also invested in a few wilson combat bigger 10 round mags as they load alot smoother than the mags that come with them but i still use them as well. only down side is that i ran out of ammo haha gotta wait a few paychecks before going back to the range but def recommend this gun if your on a budget and/or one of your first gun purchases
Yeah you can’t beat these pistol’s for the reliability and price I would recommend them to anyone.thanks for watching and your comment friend.
How’s she holding up? I just got one so looking for feedback
Everyone notices the “hammer bite” no one wears a glove. 🤔 Newer ones come in a plastic box with two mags. My seven rd extra mec gars I got afterwards won’t go in without pushing the mag release button. Ok for the range though…👍
Yeah they’re good range tools especially for the price.
Mine is on the way, as well as the Tisas PX-9 Gen 3 Duty. Heard plenty of good about both guns, and the PX-9 is currently 50% off on Buds. Paid $647 total.
Sounds like a good deal.
A 2 - gun run! Pretty Cool when that happens!!
For the price cannot be beat
I agree a hundred percent 👍
Double Dimond wooden grips are looking good on it👍 and I will say those who have 1000 dollar 1911's complain of not being able to use hollow point ammo.
Thanks friend.
We seem to have similar taste in 1911s
Yeah I believe so
Do they work well with all hollow points
That’s a friend’s gun but every thing I ran in it did really well no failures feed.
where did he get the grips from?
He got them from Amazon
One of the mags fired 9 times didn't lock back and I counted 9 shots
Yeah I had one mag that wouldn’t lock the slide back. I probably just loaded 9 rounds in that mag.
Can you do comparison between tisas and ATI Both 1911A1
I will try to in the future I don’t have a ATI right now but I will see if I can pick up one .
@@2Afreedomrange ok thanks dude i like your videos im your fan from philipines
@@2Afreedomrange ok thanks dude i like your videos im your fan from philipines
You’re welcome thank you for watching my channel friend.
Solid. Ran better than the Springfield.
That’s true friend.
I noticed there appeared to be a malfunction at 5:58 but it seemed to be edited out... What happened there?
No I didn’t have any malfunction my goal is to show exactly how the gun does good or bad.
@@2Afreedomrange Roger that! Well I sure appreciate your video on the gun. I know that I was very pleased with the Tisas 1911 Tanker in 45acp. At the time, I was actually looking for a commander size in 9mm, but it wasn't made by Tisas yet, that was in May of 2022 (this year). Then I saw that in August they came out with the "Tank Commander" in 9mm. I couldn't help it.... I got that one too. They are super solid guns, very well made and function outstanding on the range. Thank you my friend!
Thank you friend.
I love mines I'm putting a rear trigicon sight as we speak.
Yeah it is a pretty nice gun
I'm getting my slide remilled for night sights
Just bought one last week. Shoots well. Don't like the GI pimple sights, but that's ok. Paid 313 bucks at Dunhams
Yeah they’re great pistols and you can’t beat the price either.thanks for your comment friend.
Anyone run ammo other than round nose ball through it? What kind of results did you get?
Yeah I use carry ammo with good results had no failure to feed problems.
I run federal HST in mine but I use Wilson combat 47D mags 👍🏼 nastiest hollow point on the market
You are flinching. Watch the video and watch the gun shake after it is empty and you try to fire it again. Nice pistol, bought one for my son.
Not bad at all
That’s true for the price
Waah! Hammer bite! You're not supposed to shoot a .45 thumbs forward with your meat hook gripping the slide. Please go to the official Govt site, view the presentation and see how it's done right or feel free to go back to your plastic wonder nine.
Thanks for the info lol 😂.
Pronounced "Tee-shaw".
I figured I butchered how it is pronounced lol
@@2Afreedomrange No problem. Any chance you might do a future video with this gun and several thousand rounds through it?
@@xwarp you never know lol
You're friend paid way too much, I forget the name but the big farm supply chain had them on sale for 296$ on black friday. 329$ every day.
Maybe so but in our area that is the going price at every gun store.
Ohh, just remembered their name Rural King
Ok thanks friend.
my $799 kimber jams all the time. this puppy tisas $349 is not... go figure...
Yeah I can’t understand it either kimber is a big name gun maker a lot of people like them but I have heard some bad things about them I’ve not owned one myself.
That's not how you shoot a pistol. Yet everyone on RUclips does it just like that.
YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO AIM WITH THE SIGHTS! YOU SHOULD SHOOT ONE-HANDED LIKE POINTING YOUR FINGER.
It's truly the only way to become a really good shooter.
Thanks for the info friend I may try that.
@@2Afreedomrange At 65 now, I went into the Army Airborn at 30. Back then you could get 44 mag, 50 count box, for like a buck 50. I burned through hundreds, maybe even over a thousand of those boxes, shooting a SS, S&W, 44 mag, 3" barrel.
I got to where I could empty 6 rounds into a head-sized bolder at 20 yards, like pointing my figure, and hitting 5 out of 6 every time. AND FAST!
I’ve never practiced that but I may have to try it thanks for the info friend.
@@2Afreedomrange Use the cheapest ammo you can find at first. Maybe even start off with an air pistol at first.
Here's some fun;

That accent is thicker than molasses
I heard that friend lol 😂.
Own 2 A1's & 2 Tank Cmmdrs. Put 300 rnds through an then a trigger job. They shoot like lasers. Colt an Springfield priced themselves out. AKA- GREED. Shame!!!
The Tisas are great pistols for sure with a great price hopefully they won’t get greedy like the others have.
Anyone think its worth saving the money on one of these or just bumping up to a mid level $700-$800 range gun.
I have both in my collection I enjoy shooting all of them.
where can we order those wooden grips?
Those came from Amazon.
