The thing about Tisas is that the people saying they don’t run well are talking about the Tisas from a decade ago.
Tisas has responded to nearly every bit of criticism and improved their line numerous times to address common complaints. This includes failure to feed issues, magazine issues, stovepipe issues, even on down to trigger weight AND they’re shipping them in really nice plastic cases because people griped about the cardboard they used to come in…
The Tisas of today is not the Tisas of 2012. 1911’s in general aren’t naturally happy with hollowpoints though, and since these are made to original 1911 A1 spec, they will have the same issues with HP’s hanging up on the feed ramp- a very easy correction via gunsmith.
These are the best value pistol on the market, currently.

230 grn federal punch feeds perfect through mine, but mine also came with a ramped barrel, the federal punch is more curved like a ball round, as opposed to other HP's

No rails, no "combat sights", beavertail, not a double stack.... Just a plain old GI 1911A1 .45ACP. They conceal a whole lot better than most wiz bang 9mms of the same general size and hit like a truck rather than a wasp down range. I'd be a happy Old Goober if I could have one. I think I'll just go ahead and order one and get it over with.

I have considered purchasing a 1911 for awhile. I always try to educate myself by reading and watching videos like this one before I buy any firearm. Tisas offers a forged steel 1911 that is extremely affordable here. Buds has them for $370 now. Definitely a great deal.

I bought one. It's now my edc. I own a few and it's perfect for follow up shots and the recoil is perfect. I changed my handles barrel. Trigger and hammer. But the original trigger was flawless. Extremely similar to a Walther ppk (my absolute favorite)

Mine cost 439.00, price is up. Hold gun firmly in ONE hand, just use the other as support. Thumb should be tight on the gun, this is your reason for the 'bite'.

I own one of these, bought it two years ago and have fired about 3500 rds through it with no malfunctions. The parts have not worn out and should add I use 7 rd mags - the factory parkerized MecGar magazine, another blued Mec Gar mag I bought, 2 Wilson Combat mags and an Auto ordnance magazine. Everything seems to run for magazines. I only shoot ball ammo and only 230 gr as it was designed for.

@@AeolusIICB I have several different brands including Wilson Combat and also MecGar blued mags and they all go in easy. I did find this info doing a quick search of qualified gunsmiths.
Hooper Gun Works got a call recently from a customer who was having difficulty installing standard 1911 45 ACP Mags into the Rock Island Armory 1911. There are a couple of things that can cause this, over-tightened grip screws being the most common. Another cause lies within how the mag release button (or mag catch if you prefer) is cut from the factory. Sometimes the fit may be so tight that the magazine cannot push aside the inner part of the catch to engage with the slot in the magazine body. There is also a little bit of variance from magazine to magazine and between manufacturers that can make this inconsistent.
Copy and paste that paragraph and the webpage should come up in the search with that article. RUclips hassles links I leave by censoring them.

I just finally picked one up last month after researching them for 2 years. It's a tank. I only have 100 rounds through it, but it's great. Just cane with some really tight mags that began to loosen up after a bit.

I own one of these, that isn't hammer bite it is actually caused by rough edges of the beaver tail. Mine made me bleed too until I smoothed mine over with a green 3m pad then some 2000 grit sandpaper which of course wore some of the finish on the edge off but it no longer chews my hand. I have 3,500 rds through mine and am quite certain that is not hammer bite. Other videos also state it is hammer bite even Hickock45 but it isn't.

Have had my new Tisas Carry model for a week now. Have shot .45's for 25 years. Own a couple of Kimbers, Springfield, Sig and Taurus. I have about 200 rounds through mine without a hick-up. Out of the box the trigger was smooth, short pull and reset and according to my Lyman trigger pull gauge about 5 lb. trigger pull. This may become my favorite .45! At $400, out the door, money absolutely well spent.

I currently own four SDS Tisas: M1911A1 45ACP, M1911 9mm, M1911 45ACP A1 Carry, and the Tanker. I've had no issues; they all feed both ball and defensive ammunition just fine, whether using Mec-Gar, Remington, Ed Brown, Checkmate, or GI magazines. The M1911A1 45ACP is basically the same as was my TO&E issued weapon when I was in the USMC and later the US Army.

@@2Afreedomrange At 65 now, I went into the Army Airborn at 30. Back then you could get 44 mag, 50 count box, for like a buck 50. I burned through hundreds, maybe even over a thousand of those boxes, shooting a SS, S&W, 44 mag, 3" barrel.
I got to where I could empty 6 rounds into a head-sized bolder at 20 yards, like pointing my figure, and hitting 5 out of 6 every time. AND FAST!

@@2Afreedomrange Use the cheapest ammo you can find at first. Maybe even start off with an air pistol at first.

Own 2 A1's & 2 Tank Cmmdrs. Put 300 rnds through an then a trigger job. They shoot like lasers. Colt an Springfield priced themselves out. AKA- GREED. Shame!!!
